The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeI booked a table on line, we arrived and wasn't expected as the WiFi had gone down. We were told we could eat but they could only take cash. The staff didn't really know what they were doing, we ordered but the food wasn't good, it was as though it had been pre cooked and then heated up from left overs. We just ate paid and left.
Hope and Anchor – Grange-over-SandsBooked a table online so we could celebrate our son's graduation from the University of Cumbria. We arrived earlier than our booking but staff were very helpful and found us a table. There's an extensive menu and our food was served piping hot and tasted delicious. Staff were friendly and very efficient. Our meal was the perfect end to an amazing day. Thank you.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleSo impressed, as always, with the menu, reasonable prices, quality of food and friendly service
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleTake a stroll through the lovely Fitz Park to reach his pub which stands slightly outside the town centre and stands out from the run-of-the-mill establishments too. How refreshing to be welcomed and served by staff who seem genuinely to enjoy their work, be served food that hasn't just been microwaved and doesn't come from a menu that seems to have been replicated by every pub in town along with cartel-like and silly prices. A genuinely traditional pub where we really enjoyed the atmosphere, service, drinks and food.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickAll Food was really good and the staff are amazing, can’t do enough to help and very chatty.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleExcellent lunch with good friends. The restaurant was busy but the delicious food and welcoming service were not compromised in the least. Can't recommend this venue highly enough. Thank you team .
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleI booked a table online, received confirmation of the booking. Later in the evening got a taxi to the restaurant to be turned away. The staff said they were really busy and did not have a table free. They refused to honour the online booking and we had to leave and eat elsewhere. Bad staff attitude.
La Mezzaluna – Carlisle2nd time at this Bistro in a week, food was excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereThis is our top choice of restaurants in Grasmere - have been here numerous times. It is always an excellent meal and was again in our recent visit. Scallops particularly tasty. A great choice of all courses as well as wines by the glass and beers. Very efficient and friendly staff.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereBeautiful food & friendly service.
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithExtremely good food, well served. Staff were attentive to our needs and the atmosphere created an ideal setting to celibrate our daughters graduation.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleBooking up was a breeze and dog friendly. The service and food was well presented and tasted fantastic. My girlfriend had the steak and I had the lamb, both meals did not dissapoint.
Lewis’s Bistro – Grasmere7 of us arrived on a Wet Evening and were shown to our Table which was spacious and well set. Staff were brill and very attentive. Our order was varied but nothing was too much trouble. The Food arrived very quickly although the place was busy and it was absolutely delicious and well Presented. Mezzaluna is deffo right up there with the best in Carlisle. When the Bill came we were pleasantly surprised and We will definately be back .
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleGreat food again but all felt a bit rushed. Couldn’t also understand why diners are all bunched together on arrival instead of all being more spaced out. Service was attentive and prompt, will dine with Lewis again but please allow a bit more time between courses when the resturant is not full.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereOur first visit to Lewis's and certainly wont be our last! Fantastic food and service provided. Best fillet steak I have had for a long time, thank you very much for a nice evening ladies xx
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereVery enjoyable dinner at Lewis's. Seabass fillets were generous (unlike many restaurants) and the bakewell tart desert was fab. Highly recommend.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereExcellent dinner - we both had the chicken supreme which was delicious. A lovely pineapple tarte tatin to follow. We gave our thanks to the chefs! Nothing too much trouble for the busy serving staff. Proper 'local pub' atmosphere. Would definitely revisit when next in the area.
