Pheasant Inn – KeswickWe thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon tea. There was a varied selection of savouries instead of sandwiches which was a nice change. Every piece of food was beautifully presented and had lovely flavours. Could have as many cups of tea/coffee as needed. Staff very friendly. Sat in a relaxed environment, in a lovely setting.
The Music Room Restaurant at Augill Castle – Kirkby StephenBrilliant location. Brilliant meal. Booked again for the Sunday roast and nights stay.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeLooking forward to visiting again after several years
Three Hares Cafe – SedberghWe would highly recommend the private dining for a special occasion. Our family group of chldren and adults, ranging from a young baby to 70 plus year olds, thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The room was attractive, comfortable and private. The service was friendly and efficient and the food was tasty. The children were well catered for and so were the vegetarians in the party and a child with allergies. Augill Castle made the day very memorable.
The Music Room Restaurant at Augill Castle – Kirkby StephenDelicious !! Very good and value for money Good service and good atmosphere
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithGood quality food. Friendly and pleasant atmosphere.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeBest fish and chips for miles around. Always warm and friendly service. Highly recommended.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeWhat a fabulous place! The food, the decor and the staff , all outstanding. I had the pork and it was the tastiest I'd ever eaten. The staff were so friendly and nothing seemed too much trouble. I will be recommending to family and friends and will definitely return in the future.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereAnother fabulous meal at The Pheasant. Best food, service and value in the Keswick area for us. See you next time. Thanks again !
Pheasant Inn – KeswickWe stopped off for afternoon tea on the drive back from Edinburgh to Nottingham, it was a perfect way to break up the long drive. The castle is just lovely, the perfect setting for an afternoon tea, it's really cosy and family orientated on the inside. The staff were lovely and really attentive and made us feel right at home. The afternoon tea was delicious! Something a little different to your regular old sandwiches and cakes. Would definitely recommend a stop by if you are in the area.
The Music Room Restaurant at Augill Castle – Kirkby StephenWe booked in advance for Sunday Lunch and on arrival we were allocated our table straight away. Very busy however we ordered and received our meals fairly quickly. I had the roast beef which was excellent and Ann had the Lakeland beef pie which was similarly excellent, both served with a choice of 4 vegetables. If in the area again we will definitely visit.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickHad the Sunday roast perfectly cooked as always.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeWe thoroughly enjoyed dinner al fresco at Lewis's last week. Despite the busy evening, they were very attentive and the food was exceptional :) Very well done! :)
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereBrilliant - really generous portions of very well cooked food on piping hot plates. Friendly staff too. Couldn’t ask for more. Thanks! We’ll be back.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickWasn’t over impressed with the smoked mackerel pâte, but the roast beef and Yorkshire pud was excellent as was the salmon.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeMe and my son chose this restaurant as it seemed to have a good website with allegedly authentic Italian cooking. We had garlic mushrooms: These were not pan fried, but appeared to have boiled in the microwave with garlic sauce and mozzarella cheese and piping hot. We ordered a magarita pizza and vegetable pizza.: The pizza was ultra thin, very much like Middle Eastern bread, nothing like real Italian pizza and we have eaten all over Italy , from Campania to Toscana. It seemed like the dough was frozen previously not made on the premises. The side salad was nice and they served good chunky chips. Deserts looked good. If they want to improve their reputation , they should review their menu and the way their food is made, using no short cuts to make real authentic Italian food. The staff were pleasant, nice and courteous, but food was too quick coming to the table. Not all Italian restaurants in U.K. or abroad are brilliant. Some are good , some are mediocre and some are bad. La Mezzaluna is average.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleCouldn’t fault Grants. Great food, great staff and service. Lovely friendly atmosphere. Look forward to our next visit!
