The Thin White Duke – CarlisleHindley High went to Grasmere and I went into Miller Howe Café. I think its is a really nice café and I wouldn't mind coming again, you made me feel welcome and your café is well presented and clean. I think your food and you drinks taste great and yummy.
Miller Howe Cafe – GrasmereAvoid! They don't seem to know what they are selling or that they have an obligation to describe things correctly. They offer various 'juices' which should be described as 'drinks' as they are laced with sugar and other additives. Also they kept cleaning surfaces near food with a very smelly and probably toxic cleaning agent! NOT for anyone with any care for health! Also for such a competitive and high quality area, this cafe is somewhat out of place. Firstly, I'm not sure the decor knows what it wants to be nor is it necessarily fitting for the area. I'm not sure what was running through management's head when they selected a massive black and white print of Tyra Banks wearing what looked like a squirty cream bra!? The food was not bad, the service was friendly enough but there were several issues that could be addressed. My teaspoon was dirty and I had to exchange it and the floor under the tables was rather dirty with discarded food. Considering we entered at a quiet time, I wondered why the staff were not able to do a quick sweep to raise the standards.
Miller Howe Cafe – GrasmereWe frequent the Lion quite often as locals and always find the food and hospitality really good. My partner arranged a suprise party for me food brilliant, try their breakfasts from 10th mmmm.
The Golden Lion – KeswickMe and wife called in this morning, had full breakfast and I can say one of the best breakfasts we have ever had and we are in our 50's.
The Bewick Coffee House & Bistro – PenrithMe and wife called in this morning, had full breakfast and I can say one of the best breakfasts we have ever had and we are in our 50's.
The Bewick Coffee House & Bistro – PenrithAlways guaranteed good and plenty of food, with great service. Staff couldn't be more helpful.
My husband and I visited the Little Chef Penrith on 16 May 2015. On arrival staff polite and friendly, food excellent and property clean. Well done, would recommend.
Little Chef – PenrithI like the outside of Pedros and seeing the big hats. The staff look friendly and I fancy having a go at working there for a while.
Pedro’s Casa – KendalWe enjoyed a lovely lunch at Francine's on Friday. Two excellent soups and mains. Would return and recommend.
Francine’s Restaurant and Coffee House – WindermereThis is just the restaurant that Coniston has needed for a long time. The food here is of a really high standard. I took my wife and son here on Tuesday 28th April as a special treat. We had 2 Balti Chicken dishes and a Jalfreizi with Pillau rice with poppadoms. We all thought that this was one of the best Indian meals that we have ever had- it was so very tasty and delicious. The menu here is extensive and should suit most tastes. The staff are friendly and efficient and their chef is obviously very skilled at his work. We had soft drinks and a gorgeous meal for less than £16 a head. We cannot recommend Sara's Restaurant any more highly. It has only been open for some 3 weeks but we feel this restaurant has the makings of being a real winner in Coniston. Go on- go ahead and give them a try.
Sara’s Indian Restaurant – ConistonWe visited Sandford Arms for an evening meal whilst visiting Cumbria, the ambiance was relaxing and very friendly. I had the slow roast pork, delicious! and my partner had the fish course. Having enjoyed a perfect evening with attentive service we have nothing but praise and recommendation for the Sanddford Arms Appleby.
Sandford Arms – ApplebyVisited this pub and omg what a transformation. Must be the best revamp pub in Keswick. Absolutely beautiful decor and the food is faultless. We as a family completely enjoyed everything about this dog friendly pub. The staff were all very helpful. We will definitely be returning, we recommend this beautiful pub.
Lake Road Inn – KeswickWe had a meal last Saturday in your restaurant in Windermere the meal was delicious from beginning to end . For my main meal I had belly pork with black pudding but a cant remember the name of the meal I am now back home and would love to try this meal again could you please forward me the name of this very enjoyable meal.
Porto Restaurant – WindermereDougs Diner is the place you want to go for a fantastic cooked meal, whether it be your breakfast or evening meal. The food is piping hot and of great quality. It is not a place only for the lorry drivers, get yourself down there the food is excellent. Proper home cooking and cheaper than going to McDonalds lol.
Dougs Diner – PenrithI came a few years ago and must say its up there with the best. Food was delicious staff all friendly. I'm looking at coming to dine on Saturday if they have the availability. Would highly recommend!
Cantina – WindermereI have just attended a funeral wake and have left extremely embarrassed as myself and my husband were told to sit separately from each other even though there was a set table still available. I explained that i did not want to sit apart from my husband as we we did not know the people we were been asked to sit with. We have ended up just leaving instead and my husband could not pay his respects to his Aunt.
Greysteads Hotel – CarlisleI eat here on a regular basis, monthly or so and I have never been disappointed. The menu is versatile enough not to get bored. The food is delicious, the portions are over generous and the staff are friendly. The pub atmosphere is warm, clean and cosy.
