Casa Bella – KeswickHard to find and does not look open. Outside does not reflect true value of Restaurant. Having eat all over China and Hong Kong I can say this is one of the best. Terrific value. The sizzling "Fillet" steak really was "FILLET". Really worth a trip but you may have difficulty getting a table.
Silk Road Chinese Restaurant – Keswickthe food in this restaurant was really nice the shop does need doing up from the outside so we were a little nervous going in but the restaurant was very busy and food was very good.being Indian myself i would recommend this place to everyone.
Shahibs – WindermereAfter reading the glowing reports on sugarvine about this pub i thought I'd give it a go so booked a table last saturday 28th June. I must say I really enjoyed it although it was very busy the standard of food was excellent. I had the Grilled Anchovies with Fresh Rocket & Parmesan for my starter & my partner enjoyed the Homemade Chicken Liver Pate which was very tasty. We then had the Duck Breast with a Blueberry Jus & a Fantastic Sirloin Steak which they hang there at the pub for at least 30days, we couldn't resist trying it once we'd read the description! The homemade chips with the Sirloin were the best Id tasted! Couldn't manage a dessert each so as instructed by the previous person that recommended the Black Swan we had a Lemon Tart between us and it was lovely. They are starting a Smoke House but unfortunately did not have anything ready for the specials board on saturday - I was told they were smoking things this week so I might be back to give it a go. The Staff were very attentive, the two young ladies in the restaurant although very busy made sure everything was just right & the young lady hosting was very friendly and had everything under control. A lovely hassle free meal in smart, clean surroundings!
Black Swan Inn – PenrithWe love Giannis! Its the Best restaurant in Carlisle - nowhere comes close! We love the choice of seafood they offer there's not many places in Carlisle offering such a great choice! We eat there regularly, its so friendly & relaxed, the wine is great - the best Italian restaurant we have ever eaten in! I would recommend it to anyone, couples, families its perfect!
Giannis Pizzeria – CarlisleThe Black Swan is friendly & traditional the food is spot on! I particularly enjoy my slowly roasted pork belly with a Sultana, Ginger & Fresh Herb Dressing! Delicious! I really liked the fact that everything is local, homemade & fresh - the Lemon Tart is a must! Accommodation is outstanding much more than you would expect from a "pub". The Staff are so helpful, I would recommend the Black Swan to anyone wanting a relaxing break either on their own or with a partner. Ask for room 1 - Pea Top its perfect!
Black Swan Inn – PenrithPlease do not book with this restaurant, please read about the way in which they treat the foreign staff and treat them on "Gumtree" it's like reverting back to the 1800's low paid, very very long working hours, and most of all the abuse these employers dish out to the foreign staff is well outdated. Thanks for reading
Cumbria Cafe and Restaurant – GrasmereAte here in April 2008 and was very impressed by the friendly service, the lovely decor and the good Peroni beer. My risotto was good and my friends’ pizzas also looked very tasty.
Francos – CarlisleBeswicks is a rare treasure, a first class gem of a restaurant. Refreshingly untrendy and quaint it is evident that this restaurant has been built on love, pride and good old fashioned customer care and service. I have never been to a restaurant that scores so highly for the overall dining experience. Yes the food was lovely but even more impressive was the attention to detail in so many ways. David is indeed the perfect host and has the place operating like a well oiled machine, yet as a customer you don't feel like a number, you feel that you are being treated to a very special evening. I cannot praise this restaurant highly enough.
Beswicks Restaurant – Broughton-in-FurnessThe service at Akash was lacking enthusiasm, although the food was up to a decent standard, i much prefer the place across the road - Ali Taj.
Akash Tandoori – WhitehavenWent here after reading a review on your site. Glad I did, I ordered a special for my starter and wow, the monkfish and salmon kebabs were great, perfectly cooked and fantastic fresh flavours, and the wife and kids had a Dare To Share again no complaints, great value which feed all three, Mains just as nice, well worth the money, great staff, excellent food, lovely pub, not been to a more welcoming pub in years. Well done all concerned. its a credit to you and your town. Will Be Back.....
Old Farm House The – UlverstonFantastic food and great service. Great place for a family/friends get together.
Ali Taj Restaurant – WhitehavenFood is ok but service was a let down. Not the best evening for me. Prefer the Ali Taj.
Akash Tandoori – Whitehavenworst italian I've ever been to. Service was terrible, Salmon was from a tin and the price was not reflective off the poor overall experience... Sorry, but definately one to miss!
Casa Romana – Whitehaven – WhitehavenProbably the best bistro in Grasmere. No silly prices, excellent choice and a good, friendly host.
Saras – GrasmereMy second visit to this Restaurant in the heart of Broughton in Furness The atmosphere was outstanding and as it was our wedding anniversary it was a special evening. The starters local smoked meat and an interesting vegetarian salad mix expertly presented followed by Their duck with rhubarb and ginger sauce and quail both perfection and the sweets were to die for. The website does not do it justice. We have eaten in all the pubs and local eateries and this surpasses all! The prices are incredibly low comparatively too. Just a tip! if parkings bad in the Square area, park in Foxfield road there is often a lot of space there. This place is thoroughly recommended.
