Siam Cafe – WindermereAn amazing restaurant, we enjoyed delicious tapas. Service was excellent and a great atmosphere on a Saturday afternoon.
Sage and Vine – CarlisleWe enjoyed an evening meal at Grants of Castlegate on the first night of a two night stay in Penrith. It's in a rather un-prepossessing street in Penrith, but once you go in, you are treated to a wonderfully warm welcome from Front of House, Mike - and then you can enjoy the excellent ambiance in the restaurant, as well as their delicious food, service and generally wonderful dining experience! We were just knocked out! We both enjoyed the fillet steaks and because we don't eat carbs in any shape or form, we were given some extra green vegetables to enjoy. I had the prawn and chorizo starter, and my husband enjoyed the twice baked cheese souffle with creamed leeks, both of which to die for. Obviously no sugary dessert, so we enjoyed a plate each of local cheeses - 4 cheeses I think, 3 of which were from Appleby and absolutely delicious - so much so that I went into the local deli the next day and bought some more to take home with us! A wonderful memorable meal. Many thanks to Stephen, the Chef Patron and front of house Mike!
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithLovely little restaurant, great vibe, really lovely staff and great food! Service was attentive and quick too. Will definitely be back!
Sage and Vine – CarlisleWe came for a family meal to celebrate a birthday whilst we are staying at the haven holiday site down the road. All of the meals were piping hot and very good portion size, especially the children’s meal. We also had the apple crumble which was incredible, best we’ve ever had. Highly recommend the hope and anchor. We thought it was reasonably priced too.
Hope and Anchor – Grange-over-SandsWe had a fabulous meal here last night on the 1st night of our holiday . The food was beautiful and the service was excellent. Small intimate little restaurant which would be great for any special occasion.
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithExcellent all round meet and greet very polite, table clean, food superb, definitely will be returning.
Adriano’s Italian Restaurant – CarlisleLovely meal with great service. Very accommodating to different preferences. I will definitely be back.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleVisited while staying in Keswick. Even though it was really busy there was no question that our custom was appreciated and every effort was made to serve us well. The fish pie was excellent and worth the extra time and effort.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickSecond time we have eaten here and really struggle to understand why it isn't full all the time. Very varied menu and quality and cist are impeccable. Maybe people don't like food done well and just want mass produced. If you want good food go here.
