Excellent visit to grants at Castlegate. We were up visiting my mum who has recently moved to the area and decided to try grants. The staff are superb, very polite and tend to your every need. The food was delicious, served hot and really quickly. We will 100% go again! Thank you to everyone we had a wonderful evening

Always great food and service. We recently visited with my two small children and all of the team made so much effort with them both. It was a lovely experience on our first family meal out since our baby arrived. The ice cream desserts were a highlight!

Five of us arrived to a really warm welcome and shown to our table. The menu had a great choice for each course and we managed to have a good assortment between us. The food was very good and we were served by very helpful waiters. I had one of each course and was not disappointed at all. Everyone enjoyed their meals and will definitely will return in the near future. Thank you to you all for a great meal.

We have been visiting for several years now and I have always enjoyed the roast beef Sunday lunch and never leave anything on my plate. However, when we visited on Sunday, I was very disappointed with the vegetables. The roast potatoes, carrots and parsnips were hard and the cabbage had a strange taste. I left most of the vegetables. Has there been a change of chef I wonder??

We visited the Wheatsheaf with 2 friends on Friday 7 November, prior to a visit to the Heron Theatre in Beetham. The welcome was warm as usual and service excellent. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal - 3 of us went for pie of the day and 1 for the cobb salad (always a favourite). There was a very positive comment on the ale as well! Looking forward to returning soon.

Our “local” whenever we are in the Lakes and it never disappoints! Food was exceptional, delicious and beautifully presented. Super efficient and friendly staff the Horse and Farrier really is a cut above. We can highly recommend the pistachio cake, absolutely amazing! Can’t wait to return!

We visit keswick several times a year and regularly eat in the pheasant. Atmosphere, beer and food always first class. Book in advance because you will be lucky if you just turn up. Portions are very generous.

Amazing steak pie! They don't serve them often, apparently (the owners were well known for their pies when they used to run the Cross Keys pub in nearby Carleton), but they do occasioal Pie NIghts at Grants so it's worth looking out for them!
