Horse and Farrier – PenrithWe had a great evening at Sage and Vine - the food was amazing, especially the mussels. Our two waiters were friendly, informative and enthusiastic about the food - they made the evening. Our only (very tiny) gripe was that it was very very noisy - maybe some soft furnishings would help to dampen the sound? But all in all a lovely experience and one we would definitely repeat if in the area again.
Sage and Vine – CarlisleDon`t have to write much of a review about La mezzaluna, our favourite restaurant & never disappoints. Try it you will love it!
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleI love this restaurant! The staff are so welcoming and friendly and the food is delicious.
Sage and Vine – CarlisleLovely, tasty food way above the average, with good wines to match. Excellent service, pleasant surroundings, and a comfortable buzzy atmosphere, without it being loud and brash. My husband and I had the veggie sharing platter (we're not vegetarians) and everything on it was delicious, and much more interesting than the norm.
Sage and Vine – CarlisleWe have dined at the Pheasant now for a number of years. The welcome is excellent, staff always friendly. Food is superb, well presented. Back next year .
Pheasant Inn – KeswickWe were visiting from Canada and went for our anniversary. The food and hospitality were wonderful. Thank you for a great experience.
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithA 'a quick and nothing fancy on a Wednesday night' meal of croquettes, bread & oil and a plain pizza. Absolutely fantastic food, wonderful restaurant and staff.
Sage and Vine – CarlisleAbsolutely delicious , thank you!
Horse and Farrier – PenrithCame here with a friend for my elongated birthday celebrations yesterday and it was absolutely fantastic. Lovely chilled atmosphere, lovely staff and the service was second to none. We had 6 tapas dishes and each one was absolutely beautiful. We would definitely come again and can’t fault it at all.
Sage and Vine – CarlisleA further visit to the Pheasant Inn but this time my wife who is now Coeliac required a safe gluten free meal. The menu had a good range of choices and the staff were really helpful. The food was good quality and there was a great pub type atmosphere. Well recommended
Pheasant Inn – KeswickHad an amazing meal, so good we rebooked another night while we were there. The food was amazing seasoned and cooked to perfection, the feel of the restaurant was very cozy and comfortable has a very relaxing vibe with lovely staff. A must do if visiting grasmere, highly recommended
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereExcellent service and great food.
Adriano’s Italian Restaurant – CarlisleDelicious way to celebrate a 50th birthday. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff lead by Louise and the food was excellent and plentiful. The whole experience from booking to menu choices was dealt with in a very friendly manner by Louise
Queens Head Inn Tirril – PenrithI had the roast dinner - vegetarian wellington which was sadly disappointing as it was supposed to be brie, cranberry and walnut but all you could taste was mushroom. The trimmings were all tasty, with the exception of the roast potatoes which weren't at all crisp. The pub itself is nice and the front of house staff were friendly and attentive.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickThe meal was excellent beautiful food and the staff were so helpful
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeEnjoyed Sunday lunch at the Hope & Anchor. Staff were great and the Roast was excellent.
Hope and Anchor – Grange-over-SandsWe have visited this pub a few times and the food is always excellent and service great but yesterday we met family for Sunday lunch, the service is always pleasant and efficient which it still was but the food was not up to the standard we are used to here, the plates were cold therefore food not too warm and the game stew was lacking any veg and the nut roast could have had a Yorkshire pudding equivalent and then we waited ages for puddings which were coolish again. Really disappointed on this occasion as we love meeting here.
