Horse and Farrier – PenrithBeautifully cooked, tasty and interesting food served with friendly discretion. Lots of choice for meat eaters and delicious vegetarian options available. A real gastronomic treat.
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithThis was a great find on our recent holiday to Grasmere. The food was excellent quality and there was a lovely choice of dishes - sadly we went on our last night so we will have to wait until our next visit to try other items. Service was very friendly and helpful and the chef even came and gave our dog a bowlful of leftover ham which he was obviously delighted by! We will definitely visit again and can highly recommend.
Goody Blake’s – GrasmereFabulous as always.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWhat a lovely meal we had at Sage and Vine. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was attentive and courteous. We would definitely recommend this restaurant and will visit again when next in the area.
Sage and Vine – CarlisleExcellent food with lovely friendly staff. Were really accommodating with my granddaughter.
Queens Head Inn Tirril – PenrithWe had a very pleasent meal in the Pheasant in. Beef and Pork with all the trimmings brilliantly cooked. Very nice enviroment with nice people and more than a few dogs. We enjoyed ourselves no end.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickGroup of 7 Well looked after , good food , nice atmosphere would definitely recommend
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleFood was excellent. Could not fault steak pie & chicken pie. Service was very good too.
Queens Head Inn Tirril – PenrithExcellent food, generous portion and well cooked. Seemed to be freshly prepared. Staff friendly and welcoming. An obvious must is to prebook, don't try to turn and find a table available especially during holiday times. Only downside is typical of Robinson brewery pubs is the lack of choice when it comes to ales.
Hope and Anchor – Grange-over-Sandsonce or twice per year myself and friends,go to Carlisle racecourse, and stay the night . we have done so for several years and always go to la mezzaluna, where the service and food is first class.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleWhat a fabulous place to stop for a pint or something to eat. We spent a lovely evening in this cosy, welcoming pub last week. (5th Aug) The food was superb, really well presented with excellent ingredients. Our 2 dogs were very welcome and the staff could not have been nicer. Highly recommend this place as a great stop off while visiting the Lake District. We will most definitely return. Thanks to all of the team there.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickSunday 10th Aug , service chaos wheels fell off after a hot busy day. Flat Peroni offered , it’s ok when jizzed up by pumping more gas, sorry . Beer Wainright same issue but drinkable. Excuses given that it’s been like this all day and they keep coming in despite booking system, afraid too many walk ins appeared even after 8.15 last booking? None of the familiar faces serving, team fell apart . Food as always was excellent as usual.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickAn amazing meal at The Pheasant, the staff were so attentive, nothing was too much trouble, thank you!
Pheasant Inn – KeswickLovely atmosphere and very friendly staff. The Lamb Henry was excellent. Would visit again. Reservation is recommended.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickFood and drink was excellent, as was the service. Our needs were catered for as one member had an allergy
Pheasant Inn – KeswickWe were staying locally at Matterdale so had booked for lunch in advance, a true gem of a find!! - Lovely pub, great staff, brilliant selection of local beers, fantastic food, big portions - my fiance and I could only manage to eat a half of each of our lunchtime sandwiches, so we asked for them to be boxed up for us to finnish later - one half of my sandwich was accidently binned in the kitchen, so bless them, the made a whole fresh sandwich for me to take away - truly excellent customer service! will definitely be back next time we stay in the area. Keep up the good work all!!
Horse and Farrier – PenrithExcellent food and service as always! Sunday roast x 2 plus steak and ale pie were perfect. We took our daughter this visit and she wasn’t disappointed. The staff always look after us with a warm welcome so big thankyou to them too.
