Renishaw Hall and Gardens Cafe – ChesterfieldSuperb fathers day afternoon tea. The food was excellent and the staff was very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. This was our 3rd afternoon tea and will definitely be booking again.

The Two Hares – GlossopLovely friendly atmosphere. Food was fantastic and cooked beautifully. Best crème brûlée We will be back!
Baileys Bar and Restaurant – BuxtonWe are so lucky to have the Two Hares in Glossop ~ amazing food with time and love spent on the attention to detail. So glad you were able to move beyond the challenges of Hyssop and create this lovely space xx
The Two Hares – GlossopFrom the minute we walk in we're greeted by exceptional and accommodating staff. I was able to adapt my meal without fuss, and the food excellent. Padron peppers make me feel like I'm abroad and fish and chips amazing.
The Two Hares – GlossopHad the most amazing time at Renishaw Hall. My M.I.L and I came for the luxury afternoon tea and l9ved every bit of it the sandwiches were fresh and the pastries, cakes and scones were divine. I would thoroughly recommend and will be coming again.
Renishaw Hall and Gardens Cafe – ChesterfieldWe had a lovely tour of the vineyard with a very informative talk by the owner. The booking information mentioned it being cold in the cellars, but we never actually left the vineyard, so not sure if that's a misprint. There seemed to have been a bit of confusion when it came to the afternoon tea. We had a voucher for deluxe afternoon tea for two, which offered a savoury option. The voucher said to enter the code when booking online, but there was no place to do that. So, we emailed and had a response confirming our booking at 2pm. We were seated and brought a pot of tea, and waited for someone to come and check which afternoon tea we wanted. Instead, two traditional afternoon teas were brought out. We queried this and the waitress said we needed to specify savoury in the box for special requirements and allergies when booking online. As we had not booked online due to not being able to enter our voucher, this didn't happen. I also don't think we would have thought to specify a menu choice in a box for special requirement and allergies. Across the catering industry I've never seen such a box used to make a choice from a menu. It is used to request a specific seating area, make people aware of accessibility needs, or inform the staff of allergies. The sweet selection for the afternoon tea was very nice, but the savoury really let it down. All the sandwiches were plain cheese, beef, or wafer thin ham, on just buttered bread. No sauce such as horseradish. A bit of a step down from the smoked salmon, cream cheese and cucumber, or truffled egg mayonnaise and cress advertised. The mini scotch eggs, mini pork pies, and sausage rolls were clearly supermarket buffet selections, and very low quality. The voucher also included a glass of Renishaw Hall wine. We mentioned this and someone returned with a glass of sparkling wine, rather than offering us a choice. Having just tasted the Renishaw sparkling wine on the tour, we could tell that wasn't what was in our glasses. Like most people, we found there was too much too eat, so we asked if what was left could be boxed for us. From previous experience of afternoon teas, we expected someone to take the food away and return with it in a box. Instead, a waitress gave us a handful of paper bags and said "sorry, we don't have any boxes." Overall, the staff were very nice, and a lady from the kitchen was particularly helpful in trying to resolve the mix up over not having a savoury version for us. The grounds and building are lovely and in a picturesque setting. I'm not one for leaving negative reviews, but we did leave feeling we didn't receive what was promised and hope pointing out this experience will help the management to address these issues.
Renishaw Hall and Gardens Cafe – ChesterfieldExceptional food. The Chicken pate was out of this world! The fillet and Sirloin were perfect. And what a wine selection!!! Super yummy.
Baileys Bar and Restaurant – BuxtonMy steak was gorgeous, perfectly cooked. My friends not quite right but immediate apology, no excuses and no charge. Excellent service. Lovely atmosphere and we shall definitely go again
The Two Hares – GlossopFantastic meal with great friendly service. We booked for 6:30pm on a Sunday. There were choices of Sunday roasts but also a good selection of alternatives too. All food was homemade and very tasty. Hubby went for the dirty burger and parmisan fries, I had Bailey's steak pie, fresh veg and handcut chips. Everything was delicious and portion sizes were perfect. We were made to feel very relaxed and welcome; the atmosphere was great. Not too busy as it was closer to the early Sunday closing time. Highly recommended.
Baileys Bar and Restaurant – BuxtonIt was a lovely Afternoon Tea for our friend who was celebrating her 80th Birthday. The table was set out beautifully and the service was very good. We all could not manage to eat all of the tea and the staff thoughtfully provided boxes to take our left overs home. I have another event booked for the end of July with our local singing group and I hope the Cream Tea is just as nice. Thank you
Renishaw Hall and Gardens Cafe – ChesterfieldNot our first visit and definitely not our last. Wonderful steaks cooked to perfection and excellent service. Our only gripe was they seated a large, noisy table of 10 next to our table of 2. They were having fun but it somewhat spoiled our romantic evening. But will definitely be back.
Baileys Bar and Restaurant – BuxtonWe thoroughly enjoyed our experience on Friday night. The staff were very professional and attentive. The food was exceptional and we all enjoyed every course. We will certainly be returning.
The Two Hares – GlossopThis was an early Father's day treat with the family (including Buffy the dog) and we couldn't have picked a better place than The Two Hares. The friendliest service imaginable and we all felt immediately at home. The food was exceptional and fantastic value for money, great atmosphere and we can't wait to come again. A hidden gem. A big thank you from the Longden party. ( Buffy was disappointed because with food that good she got zero treats ! :)
The Two Hares – GlossopFantastic Saturday night , food amazing. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We go every week.
Baileys Bar and Restaurant – BuxtonWe had a fabulous meal at this unassuming village pub. The catch of the day was expertly cooked with nice accompaniments. Service was excellent too. Felt really welcome!
The Old Gate Inn – MatlockIf you want an arty farty bit of food in the middle of your plate that's finished in 3 or 4 mouthfuls, then this is not the place for you. If you want great Sunday roast with all the trimmings, well cooked and enough of it, then book in as you wont be disappointed. Cracking place. Take a jumper though as it can be a bit chilly as its a stone built pub. Not cold enough for the fires to be on as its summer, but until the place fills with punters it can be a bit nippy. We will definitely be back. Staff great also and manager welcomes each table personally which is a nice touch.
