Great food & choice of food, fantastic service, great value for money.

Hello Hour Glass team We had a great experience starting with the really friendly and super competent young man serving at bar on arrival and with meal in dining room where service was good- only minor snag being potatoes served with bit of a delay. Food was excellent, we were all satisfied. Sole was delicious and big portion (sometimes sole can be disappointing- thin, not enough) sauce lovely and side of buttered greens very good. Rump steak folks were happy as were sons with ox cheek pie. We shared x3 mussels ad starter which was nice but not banging- not usual Exe mussel plumpness and sauce I found too creamy … blackberry sorbet incredible flavour the lads were in heaven with chocolate pud. Exeter brewery beers excellent my favourite is Avocet, delicious and good with food. Very enjoyable evening in relaxed dining room, great choice for a celebration with friends. Thank you will be back.

Excellent meal. The service was excellent. Food tasteful and good value.

Once again the food was wonderful, my favourite being the perfectly cooked paella, the staff are very pleasant and helpful. The atmosphere was a bit subdued but was down to use being the only customers at that time. Sitting at a window seat gives a great view of the sound. Have recommended Maritimo to family and friends as a lovely place for casual eating.

My wife and I regularly dine at Belluno's - It is so refreshing to find a restaurant that is well run at every level. Front of house and reception are welcoming, empathetic and professional. Waitresses and table service similarly of a very high standard. Bottom line a restaurant is judged by the quality of the Kitchen, Chef and the Food that arrives on the plate. Again Belluno's score highly with me. a comprehensive and wide ranging menu, competitively priced and great value for money. Bellunoe's Axminster - The Pig Gittisham - The Yellow Deli Honiton currently my favourite East Devon Restaurants - All three highly recommended. .

First time visit, booked in again for later in the week as it was so good!

The Hour Glass is a hidden gem in Exeter. The food is fabulous, with a fresh, seasonal menu that’s beautifully presented. The atmosphere is wonderful, created by exceptional people—including a Manager whose genuine care shines through in everything he does. A truly special place.

We visited as a group of 8 who pre-booked for Sunday lunch. We arrived and were welcomed by the lady behind the bar. Taken to our table and ordered drinks. The food was lovely and the staff who were working were brilliant. We had to wait quite a while, it looked like there were limited number of staff and the staff who were working were having to run around trying to do the jobs. This meant that silly mistakes were done like bringing a J20 that hadn’t been opened, or water with no glasses. We had a chuckle and informed the staff and they quickly resolved the issue. The staff were friendly and helpful and did a great job. The lady serving the food was very friendly. Enjoyed the visit and only thing that could have made it better is for more staff as this would have resolved the issues.

Saturday dinner for visitors to the area: great to see a very different menu. All dishes were executed well by the kitchen - loved the wild boar pate, generously portioned pie and the venison dishes were flavourful, Desserts did not disappoint. Good ale to accompany our meal. Service from friendly, smiling staff was excellent. I also like that they do not automatically add "service charge" leaving customers to decide. We left well fed and ready for the walk back to Seaton. We would definitely eat here again were we to return to the area.

A little gem, just a 10 minutes walk from Exeter City Centre. Really authentic pub with amazing history that has the atmosphere you’d expect of a proper pub. The difference is that this pub also serves amazing food and great staff who really make you feel welcome. It definitely our go to place in Exeter.

Absolutely heavenly food - last night I had the sole, the sauce it came with was sensational. My husband had the burger and said it was the best burger he's ever eaten in his life - he's had a few over the decades! I didn't have enough room for the chocolate delice but I've had that before and it is gorgeous. This time I had the salted caramel and the peanut butter ice cream - the latter was especially good and I'm definitely going to be ordering that again and again! All that in a super atmosphere with excellent staff, and dog friendly too, what's not to love about this place, we are so lucky to have this as our local as it's definitely the best place to go in Exeter (to eat or even just to have a drink).

Great quality food, friendly service, reasonably prices

We had a superb meal at The Poltimore Inn on Tuesday 10th September. We opted for their home made steak and ale pie and it was delicious and proper decent size chips a rare find these days.

This is my favourite Italian restaurant in the country. Highly recommend

A fabulous meal last night for my husband’s birthday. Everything was delicious, fresh and perfectly presented. We’re already talking about returning soon
