Food was delicious once arrived. We wanted 1h for main meal. Otherwise good atmosphere and nice food.
The Farmers Arms – DurhamExcellent, we had the afternoon tea, food was delicious and the service was perfect !
Hall Garth Hotel – DarlingtonGreat food and price. Had the £10 3 course and menu options explained to us Time between starter and main I was just about to ask when it arrived. Started with soup which could have been hotter BUT as cooler could taste the flavours rather than too hot. Parmos were spot on. Too much if to be honest. Chips were very dark in colour but tasted great. As normal had out sweet boxed. Two things to note. Many items now have supplemental charges which may catch some people out but this was explained by our server. In the lust of offers by the pub, you need to update facilities as the pods outside have now been removed. Will we be back, definitely as food is always excellent even though waiting times can be a little long
The Farmers Arms – DurhamExcellent afternoon tea. Quality fresh food. Staff were so helpful and friendly .
Hall Garth Hotel – DarlingtonGreat menu choice for Sunday. The traditional Sunday lunch was very nice but it was good to have other options. Portion sizes and prices were very good. Would definitely recommend.
Farmhouse Dine & Wine – DurhamFamily of 8 for Sunday lunch. Food was all excellent, service was good and timely. Only comment would be the price of non alcoholic drinks. £2.20 for a cordial and tap water is a bit pricey. at approx £25 per head including an infant and young child is at the top end of the budget. However to reiterate the scores below, service and food was very good.... we will be back.
The Farmers Arms – DurhamHad afternoon tea which was fresh and of good quality. Decaff coffee was available & we were given a glass of fizz.
Hall Garth Hotel – DarlingtonFood was very nice with good service and a friendly atmosphere
The Farmers Arms – DurhamLovely food ,nice atmosphere ,big menu , draught larger ,godd value for money ,
Gussto Tapas Bar – DurhamDisappointing I took my friend for for her birthdays as I regularly go to the Farmers Arms and have never had a bad experience. However we had a 49 minute wait for our food , there was no cutlery on our table so we then waited another 5 mins to get that . When my friend went to eat her chips they were burnt but by the time we were asked if everything was ok we were offered a replacement but I had nearly finished my meal . We mentioned this when we paid and asked if everything was ok but was. It offered any recompense. The staff seemed new , there was no sense of urgency and lack of experience was evident The Parmo was bland and she left most of that . I was extremely disappointed as I had chosen the FA as her treat . I normally eat at the FA twice a month a real shame
The Farmers Arms – DurhamFantastic service. Delicious food and beautiful surroundings. We will definitely be back for the afternoon tea and spa deal!
Hall Garth Hotel – DarlingtonLovely meal, friendly service. Would recommend.
Farmhouse Dine & Wine – DurhamWonderful tapas bar. Quite a hidden gem. Food is absolutely delicious, lots of variety. The meat and seafood tapas are especially amazing. The restaurant is small and cosy with a warm atmosphere. Great place to wind down and enjoy some good food. Staff are helpful and attentive.
Gussto Tapas Bar – DurhamGreat value and lovely food. Feels like getting good warm home cooking. Brilliant service and highly recommend.
Farmhouse Dine & Wine – DurhamFood was delicious , really good value , well presented ( i want their bowls and plates) Friendly staff , good service ,
The Farmers Arms – DurhamLovely valentines meal with my husband. The starters and main dishes were both really lovely. We got moved into the main bar area as the main restaurant was very cold but it didn’t spoil anything. The staff were and are always really lovely too.
Witton Castle Country Park – Bishop AucklandWe had a lovely stay ,Mandy was brilliant at check in , the food was amazing and we had a nice relaxed spa day . The only concern is the website is a bit confusing as it still shows a swimming pool . There needs to be clear information informing guests that the use of spa facilities is extra and they need to book a slot in advance. Apart from these minor issues , we will definitely stay at the hotel again
