The Farmers Arms – DurhamLovely pub. Carvery is great and food is excellent.
Red Alligator – Bishop AucklandWe enjoyed our meal at the Farmhouse. The seabass and steak pie were delicious.
The George of Piercebridge – DarlingtonHad a spa day from Groupon. Spa experience was good and relaxing. The afternoon tea was nice and good service. The only negative was we were supposed to get a glass of prosecco which we didn't and I didn't realise until we got home. Overall really enjoyed the experience.
Hall Garth Hotel – DarlingtonThis was my second time at Hall Garth, and I honestly can’t wait to return again. I absolutely love the setting—so peaceful and relaxing. The outdoor hot tub is a particular highlight for me; both times I’ve visited, I’ve had it all to myself, which made the experience feel even more special and serene. The food is fantastic! The Lebanese chicken platter was packed with flavour, and the afternoon teas were simply divine—perfectly presented and delicious. I also treated myself to some spa treatments, which were excellent. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. Looking forward to my next visit and a bit more indulgence!
Hall Garth Hotel – DarlingtonHad a lovely day in the spa and then in the hotel for afternoon tea, definitely recommend
Hall Garth Hotel – DarlingtonWe came for Mother’s Day, family off 8, everything was perfect, from entering and leaving, definitely will be back :)
The Farmers Arms – DurhamSo this pub is close to my and my partners hearts as this is where he popped the question we called yesterday for the 3 course for 10 and food was beautiful
The Farmers Arms – DurhamFar too many people booked for Mother’s Day, not enough staff and obviously letting more take aways in as well. Waited ages for our table and were then asked to leave the table after less than an hour, we hadn’t even ordered desserts! Food was ok, not keen on veggie options but plenty of vegetables
Red Alligator – Bishop AucklandMy mother and I attended Hall Garth Hotel for an afternoon tea as part of Mother's day treat. The food was absolutely delicious. The cheese scones were freshly baked and really fluffy. The desserts were divine, especially the square one that tasted of cinnamon. My only gripe is that there should be more selection of sandwiches. The staff were friendly and very helpful. We would definitely coma back again sometime.
Hall Garth Hotel – DarlingtonMixed review. First time visiting. Good value. Limited choice for younger adults. Best dishes were the prawn starter and garlic mushrooms. Good portion sizes. Well presented. However, steak wasn't the best cut. We got one rump and one sirloin and couldn't tell the difference, both thin cheap cuts. Not cooked to our request probably due to thickness of the steaks. Downside was the overall service. Started off well, got seated straight away and drinks ordered. Food was ordered promptly too, however we waited a good 45mins for starters to arrive and we had to enquire about them as a couple came in after us and got food before us. As soon as we had finished the starters the mains came out straight away. However, once we had finished the mains no waitress was around to ask for bill etc....then waitress eventually came 20mins later then we asked for the bill, she then took some plates away and then disappeared for another 10mins only to come back and say we had to pay at bar. Don't think we will be returning.
The Farmers Arms – DurhamLovely food and staff, a regular treat for us as only a couple of miles away from where we live.
