The George of Piercebridge – DarlingtonWe recently booked the restaurant out for a Birthday party for 30 people, the staff were fantastic and very accommodating, Food quality was great with only one meal having an issue that was quickly resolved. Would definitely recommend
Witton Castle Country Park – Bishop AucklandFrom the moment I walked in to the minute I left the service and atmosphere were terrible. We opted for the steak night special as this seemed good value for money. It was not busy with only a few customers but the lady behind the bar was stressed and on her own. The food took 35 minutes for 2 rare steaks and 1 medium, we ordered 2 side orders of onion rings and a fried egg. The onion rings were almost inedible they had not been in the fryer long enough with the batter uncooked and stodgy. We had to ask for the fried egg which came when my daughter was half way through her food. The rare steaks were not cooked properly and were verging on well done. At no point were we asked if everything was alright with the food. The reason I didn't complain was because we were so hungry and the food took ages to come that we just had to eat what we had I really a terrible experience and a complete waste of money. Will never return
The George of Piercebridge – DarlingtonVisited last night for tea with my husband and son. We visit quite often and always enjoy the food but last night wasn’t good I’m afraid. We are from the 3 courses for £10 menu but came away feeling like just because the food is on offer maybe the effort isn’t as good as it could be. My son and I had potato skins to start, they were burnt and I had to send mine back. The replacements were a nicer colour but still over cooked. My husbands chips which came with his pie were similar - shame because normally the potato skins and chips are to die for here. We paid extra for custard with my husbands dessert as he got apple crumble, he got about a thimble full of it and left all of the apple as it was a weird brown colour. Might have just been having an off day but we won’t be returning for a while. The girl who served us was very pleasant and approachable. Value for money score should be a 5 with an offer like that but when you are paying for substandard stuff I can’t allocate a 5
The Farmers Arms – DurhamFirst time visiting, we had Sunday lunch. I’d pre booked a Gluten Free and a Vegan option along with three adult meals. We couldn’t fault any of our meals. My daughter’s Vegan option was fantastic, and had the same trimmings as the other meals. Highly recommended
Witton Castle Country Park – Bishop AucklandWe dined today for afternoon tea and it was the worst afternoon tea I have ever had it was a wowcher on the wowcher website it showed a two-tier cake stand with fluffy scones and lovely looking sandwiches the offering today as per the photo was absolutely disgusting the scones were dry it was missing clotted cream the cake was shoved onto this strange-looking cake stand the sandwiches were dry and missing half of the offering in side the sausage rolls were burned ,the time and effort from the staff was minimal the waitress looked exhausted ,the table across had large fluffy scones and we had tiny little dry cake scones ,I had the gluten-free option which was the worst thing I have ever eaten the coconut slice was flaky and dry and fell apart, the sandwiches were actually very good to my surprise and the coffee was bitter and horrible it was my mom's birthday and it ruined the afternoon I will never return to this establishment.

Witton Castle Country Park – Bishop AucklandFantastic! The place was super for a Rueaday with only three front of house staff and they smashed it. We went for my Wife's birthday and we were over the moon with everything. Thanks to the whole team, front and back of house!
The Farmers Arms – DurhamAbsolutely amazing day all 4 of us were well looked after and staff amazing food was beautiful
Hall Garth Hotel – DarlingtonWe went for Sunday lunch last minute and it was amazing! Portion was huge and such good quality for the price. Will be returning. Waitress was also lovely and service was very fast.
The Farmers Arms – DurhamLast minute decision to go out for tea. 3 of us had the 3 courses for £19.95. The show stopper was the steak and Guinness pie, have to say it was amazing. The meat was tender and the gravy was out of this world. Sticky toffee pudding was also delicious. Will definitely be back.
The Farmers Arms – DurhamFantastic restaurant! Fabulous food and a great place to take the kids! We are regulars :)
Farmhouse Dine & Wine – DurhamWe visited The Farmer's Arms as a group of 5 - 3 adults and 2 children (aged 15 and 6). We've been a few times before and again we were not disappointed. Amazing home cooked food at fantastic prices - we took advantage of the weekday 3 course meal which has a good range of choice and generous portion sizes. Our daughter (6) thoroughly enjoyed her kids 3 course meal too! Service is spot on. Highly recommend, hopefully be back sooner than last time!!!
