The spa was enjoyable ,although the plunge pool was not in use . The treatment we had was relaxing and as is it was not busy things were accessible. A very disappointing afternoon tea.The sandwiches were dry and bland. The scones had been overheated . Which resulted in not being able to eat the fruit scone . In my opinion it had been made at lunch time and left to stand . Resulting in a disappointing afternoon tea . After serving our afternoon tea the staff disappeared, not giving us the opportunity to give our opinions.
Hall Garth Hotel – DarlingtonA frequent haunt of ours, this time a quiet birthday lunch. As usual first class food. Nice surroundings and starter and drinks arrived very quickly. The mains took longer. But they are freshly prepared and cooked to order First class to all the staff
The Farmers Arms – DurhamWe had a lovely afternoon tea. Service was excellent. Nice decor and comfortable surroundings.
Hall Garth Hotel – DarlingtonHad a lovely meal last Sunday unfortunately trying to book for this Sunday is a bit of a struggle. As no one answers the phone.have left a few messages and still nothing.
Red Alligator – Bishop AucklandGreat food friendly and helpful staff. Found the menu a bit confusing £10:00 meal deal for three courses ended up £16:00 more due to supplements for two meals maybe have a separate menu with the food included in the 3 courses for ten pounds ?
The Farmers Arms – Durham3 courses for £10 was an amazing bargain. A huge plate of potato skins and gorgeous garlic mushrooms to start. Chicken hanging kebab that had loads of meat on, a tasty halloumi kebab and a bacon cheeseburger burger that was very nice. The chips were extra and not my cup of tea but hubby loved them. 3 sticky toffee puddings to take away as we were full. The staff were very friendly and helpful we would definitely return. There were extra charges for some food but even with extras it’s good value
The Farmers Arms – DurhamFood and staff excellent.the food is better now than it was 2 yrs ago when we first came
The Farmers Arms – DurhamWe booked a table for 7.30 got there at 7.25 at 7.40 when someone came to serve us we were told there wasn’t a table ready for us and it was a 25min wait quite rudely. So our meal didn’t happen we went elsewhere.
The Farmers Arms – DurhamI had a booking on Thursday for my birthday tea with the girls from work. The food was delicious and the service was second to none. Thank you.
Farmhouse Dine & Wine – DurhamFood was beautiful and well presented
Witton Castle Country Park – Bishop AucklandBeautiful food, lovely atmosphere and amazing & friendly staff. We had 7 dishes and 3 alcoholic drinks for £80.
Gussto Tapas Bar – DurhamHighly disappointed. Have been several times but won’t be back again unfortunately. 3 courses for £10 but supplements for most things on the menu. Drinks (soft drinks) are expensive, food wasn’t the best, charged extra for chips & also mayonnaise, £4 supplement for a brownie the size of a postage stamp. Terrible.
The Farmers Arms – DurhamBit slow service. Food was very hard and burned we had to send the burger back to get a new one? Cheese was not melted came as a block.
The Farmers Arms – DurhamAbsolutely gorgeous. Food exceptional. Great service and lovely atmosphere.
