We recently came for lunch (14 of us). From the time of booking to the actual lunch, we found the staff very friendly and accommodating. One guest mentioned their soup was salty so unable to eat and scampi undercooked to their liking, but noted the waitress was helpful when it was pointed out to her. We found the bill confusing with how food and drink was listed but again the waitress was very helpful and patient in explanations. Food ( we had a variety from the paninis, seafood grill, omelette, salmon, jacket potato and burger) and service was good and we were really made to feel welcome. When we are in the area we will visit again!

Made a visit on Saturday night having not been for a few years. Certainly weren't disappointed . Delicious food all served beautifully by the most delightful lady who couldn't have been more helpful. The bar lady was also incredibly friendly. We felt very welcome. A beautiful country pub we will certainly be back.

Little gem of a restaurant between Southend and Leigh. Funky decor and atmospheric. Menu changes regularly and servings are very generous. staff are very friendly and they don’t mind if you take the dog.

This place is 11/10. First, the owner Billy is so hospitable and makes you feel welcome from the moment you enter the vicinity. He takes the time to actually have a conversation and get to know you (even though he is mega busy running this awesome establishment) Now for the food. There are just no words to describe the flavour explosion that happens to your tastebuds ! I will say this - Crispy Chilli ‘beef’ - you wont regret it. Can’t wait to visit again.:)

A lovely venue to eat, tasty food and well cooked but The skate x 2 on the specials board was ordered but only 1 was available A monkfish alternative was offered for one of the dishes which was fine but what we got was 2 x mix of monkfish and skate We ordered 1 skate and 1 monkfish so an obvious mix up but ok however not a lot of fish was in either dish so a bit disappointing The open club sandwich was lovely so was the ham egg and chips albeit chops a bit too salty We were not offered a coffee at the end and we had to ask at the counter

We went there for a birthday brunch. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing , my mothers food wasn't cooked properly. We mentioned it to 2 people before the manager came over. Who was helpful and offered us alternatives but this didn't compensate for what we missed.

Lovely lunch present for 80th birthday, Food was great . Mixed sea food grill amazing. Very generous portions, chicken pie great also , too much for my brother. Staff very friendly
