Fantastic fish and chips! Deliciously cooked food, friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere.
The Fish Shed – ExeterFab, I've discovered Carluccios and recommend it to everyone. Especially coeliacs. I can't tell you what a treat it is to be able to go to a resturant and ask for GF food without feeling like you are a freak or putting anyone out. The food is delicious. GF bread is served as normal. Just wait until you try the warm chocolate pudding. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. You would never know it was GF.The staff are friendly and made our visit great. We will go again and again.
Carluccio’s – ExeterWhat a great restaurant to try something slightly different. If you want standard Indian food then no problem however if you fancy something Himalayan then this is the place. Mixtures of Chinese, Goan ,Thai and Indian dishes are available. Service was good but did get a little slow as the restaurant got busy, however there was only one waiter present. Absolutely brilliant and I will be back.
Namaste Himalaya – ExeterHad a fantastic meal with a group of friends over Xmas, its a must for any age or size of group defo recommend.
The Cosy Club – ExeterMy friend and I had the most fantastic meal here. We stumbled across the restaurant by lucky chance and now I can't wait to come back! Beautiful, melt in the mouth fillet steak, and a delicious, fresh, simply fantastic sushi selection. One of my favourite meals ever.
Steaks N Sushi – ExeterStrada in Princesshay is excellent, I visit at least twice a week, food excellent and the staff cannot do enough for me. I am actually Visiually Impaired and an OAP but don't look my age. Visited the restaurant one evening last week and again the food was excellent, they certainly work very hard indeed. Even with a party on singing Happy Birthday.
Strada – ExeterMy partner and I had a great meal at Harry's Grill a couple of weeks ago. A busy Saturday night but nicely attentive and unhurried service, buzzy but easy atmosphere and delicious steak cooked to perfection. We enjoyed pre dinner cocktails in the ground floor bar before heading upstairs. A great place for a drink even if you are not having a meal! Certainly somewhere we will go again.
Harrys Grill Bar – ExeterVery well presented, good food and good value.
Bar Venezia – ExeterDelicious food and lovely styling. Lovely sophisticated pub without feeling ostentatious.
Jack In The Green Inn – ExeterFantastic food and atmosphere as usual.
Carluccio’s – ExeterHad a lovely meal at this restaurant before Christmas. Lovely menu ingredients all fresh
Maltsters Arms The – ExeterGreat welcome, looking forward to a food experience.
Bishop Blaize The – ExeterThe food was so lovely!! I actually cant wait to come back, the staff were really nice and helpful and we couldn't believe the size of the portions!! Can't wait to return! *****
Starz Bar and Restaurant – ExeterI have been to several Prezzo restaurants. All have been good but Exeter branch is excellent. Service and ambience second to none. I will be visiting family in the area next month again and will most definately be paying Prezzoo a visit.
Prezzo – ExeterVisited twice in two months. Both occasions were disastrous. There is an obvious serious Management failuire at this establishment. My advice, Go anywhere else and receive better service and value. My latest visit was 13/07/2012 - never again.
Nutwell Lodge The – ExeterWe booked the private dining room at 1pm today Sunday 8th April for a party of 11 for my fathers 75th birthday. We chose Southernhay House because we wanted top quality dining for my fathers landmark birthday; he has previously visited Burgh Island and we were looking forward to a similar experience at Southernhay House. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with both the service and the quality of the food and came away wishing that we had booked a different venue. Service was very slow - when we arrived we were left waiting for about 20 minutes and had to ask someone to come and take our drinks order. One of the food orders was wrong - I ordered the breakfast for my son and it was served with a fried egg instead of scrambled and he did not receive a sausage as you had run out.The home made baked beans looked and tasted disgusting. Some of the food was served nearly cold. The yorkshire puddings served with the roast dinner were virtually inedible. The roast dinner itself was not bad but not what we would expect from somewhere that is classified as "fine dining".The toast for the breakfasts had obviously been forgotten and was brought out about 10 minutes into the meal and without butter, which we had to ask for. We asked for someone to come and take another drinks order and were kept waiting for another 15 minutes. Generally, the food and the service was average at best. We complained to the waitress and she did reduce our bill, explaining that they had staffing issues. However, all in all it was a very poor dining experience and not what we expected at all.
Southernhay House – ExeterAfter reading reviews, we decided to booked Harrys Restaurant for 4, two weeks before. First impression always counts, on arrival my husband approached the gentleman on the bar and assumes we did not booked but realised quickly we did, we were seated on another room, my party thinks this is an overflow room (restaurant still quiet as our table is booked for 7 p.m.) floor dirty with chips and pieces of tissues scatter around. We were reading the board on the wall with menus and drinks and we notice cage on the ceiling with cobwebs and dust. Our orders taken, food warm not hot, the waitress very helpful. Very disappointed with our experience and we will not come back again and will not recommend with friends. City council pls visit and inspect for cleanliness.
