The best Fish & Chips in the South West and probably in the country. Try their "Krispie!" chips and you will never buy chips anywhere else
Krispies – ExeterIdeal place for a romantic Dinner for two or a family gathering. We celebrated our Sons 21st with a family dinner at the Jack recently and everyone had a very good meal, reasonable priced and a good selection of wine and Ales. Paul is a great host, his staff trained very well and its somewhere we always recommend.
Jack In The Green Inn – ExeterVery pleasant hotel in quiet yet convenient location with views to the sea and pleasant gardens. Refurbished Restaurant offering quality food at a reasonable price. Excellent Sunday Carvery Lunch with good choice of meats and vegetables, also plenty of both with Coffee in Sun Lounge afterwards. Went for a family celebration and we were all well pleased also with the friendly and courteous service.
Brasserie 16 at Devoncourt Hotel – ExeterProbably the worst restaurant I have been to in a very long time! Delays with service (over an hour before we got cold starters), waiting staff with absolutely no idea how keep their customers happy actually quite aggressive in manner. It really is no use taking a booking for 10 people if you can't serve them in a reasonable time. It is also no use blaming the customer for not choosing the set menu. When the main courses did turn up the fish was terribly overcooked and the chicken livers were bloody! Truly disgusted with the service and the food. Will never return!
El Bocado – ExeterI had a fantastic meal at El Bocado. Friendly staff and warm atmosphere. They had a great selection of Spanish wines which is great to see in a Spanish restaurant. We ordered a selection of authentic Spanish tapas and the paella. I would recommend El Bocado, definitely worth a visit.
El Bocado – ExeterFood has been great here, good service and nice atmosphere. However, we recently made a booking for a Saturday night, only to be told when we turned up that we were expected half an hour earlier and our table had been given away. We definitely had not booked it earlier, and someone at the restaurant had clearly made a mistake. There was no apology given, no recompense or attempt to rectify the problem they had caused, only a rude implication that it was our fault. We had booked a week in advance. It totally spoiled what should have been a happy occasion for us, and we have lost faith in a local company. What a shame.
Harrys Grill Bar – ExeterWe have eaten in the restaurant a few times and absolutely love it, I have tried a variety from both the Thai and American menus and it is all lovely, it's nice that you can see into the kitchen and see the chefs at work :) We thought we'd try the delivery service and ordered online, the food arrived exactly when we were told it would and was still hot even though we live 8 miles out of Exeter, this did mean we had to pay £3 delivery but it was well worth it. 100% recommended for delivery or eat in.
Tiger Bills Bar Wok Grill – ExeterBrilliant restaurant, booked for 12 ppl, only 9 of us turned up due to snow!!!! Staff were very accommodating, food fantastic -my 40th birthday and they gave me a glass of champers and even hid a cake and brought it out lit with sparklers...so so great in Zizzi, Exeter 10/10 Definitely visit again
Zizzi – ExeterHave a great meal relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. Was nice to be able to see the chefs cooking and they have real Thai chefs in the kitchen. There was a cross range of customers from 2 people to a table of 10 or more. It was nice a s my partner is a picky eater and wont try different foods os I had the Thai and he had the American side of the menu so we were both happy. We went at a weekend but will definitely be back! They do 2-4-1 weekdays in the evening so its a cheap night out. Well worth a try.
Tiger Bills Bar Wok Grill – ExeterHere is a small but infinitely friendly Indian Restaurant. Friendliness and welcome abound here but most importantly "The Food". As a regular and frequent Indian food eater Real India provides some of the most delicately flavourful food ever. Even the very hot and spicy dish has subtle and wonderful flavours. Go there!
Real India – ExeterThis is a smashing proper pub, with food well deserving the gastropub label but not gastropub prices. Just into January with snow everywhere & the place is packed with locals. We enjoyed Berrow Ale & a great Sauvignon Blanc. The most ridiculously huge, really tasty1/2 shoulder of lamb and Lyme bay scallops with celeriac puree that were sublime, also great staff & great service.

Half Moon Inn – Exeterwow factor , the Ganges has it, been in recently has a new interior , all i can say good luck guys its the best looking restaurant i have seen this side of london well done looks fab . will be back to see the water fall looks excellent and i want one what ever it costs ,
Ganges The – ExeterHad a stunningly good lunch here recently. Rarely do I go to a restaurant and find choosing difficult but here there is so many appealing dishes I did have trouble. I opted for Tempura of Monkfish with a delicious dip to start followed by partridge which was packed with flavour and beautifully presented. For dessert I tried a taster plate of mini puddings which was too good. The service was exceptional, the staff engaged and passionate. If only I was local to the area, it is now my favourite restaurant.
Jack In The Green Inn – ExeterMy comment falls in to 3 distinct categories: 1) Four of us ate here on 26th October 2009. Two parents & 2 students. The food was good. A fair price. Clear descriptions on the menu. It all represented what I had seen on their website, and what appealed to us. 2) Less positive; within 5 minutes of being seated we had been asked twice if we were ready to order. Even allowing for my poor reading skills, I felt this was a bit quick. 3) The music was so loud we could not sustain a conversation. To this I add that we were also 'pushed' about ordering our next course(s). For the first time ever the bill arrived before I had time to ask for it. My main impression; come in eat, pay & leave so that we can re 'sell' your table. Will we go back: I leave you to decide?
Harrys Restaurant – ExeterNice place for the start of a night out with friends, lively and fun. If you crave authentic Thai food then probably not for you...
Tiger Bills Bar Wok Grill – ExeterI ate here at 10.10pm on Wednesday, September 9th, 2009. I am writing a partially negative review as the issue I have irritated me greatly. The venue itself was pleasantly laid out, the food was good and served promptly. However we were made to feel uncomfortable and hurried by our waitress. The last sit down was at 10.30pm, and we arrived at 10.10pm. Throughout the meal we were watched in close proximity by our waitress and she asked us two or three times if we were finished eating before we were done. Also, once we were done eating, my companion went to use the ladies' room and the waitress after maybe 5 minutes, went up to the ladies and knocked on the door to hurry her along. To add insult to injury, the waitress had the audacity to ask me when paying the bill by visa, if I wanted to add a gratuity. I feel that if I eat out and pay forty pounds for the experience, that I should not be herded in and out of the restaurant like cattle. Basically we were the only customers in the restaurant and we were plainly an annoyance to this waitress to be dealt with, as opposed to us being new and potentially regular customers. This has incensed me so much that I will not be eating at The China Orchid again.
China Orchids – ExeterDONT GO THERE FOOD IS NOT NICE . KIDS MENU NOT MUCH TO CHOOSE FROM . IT NEEDS TO BE GUTTED AND START AGAIN STAFF WERE SLOW SLOW AND MADE NO EFFORT TO MAKE YOU FEEL WELCOME
Harry Ramsdens – ExeterSunday Menu: 2 courses, £31; 3 courses, £39.50.
