The greeting by the lady at the bar (sorry didn’t get the name) said it all, she was friendly & spent time talking through the wines , telling as little bit about the pub. She also ensured we had a good table in the restaurant as we were celebrating our anniversary. Atmosphere was fun/friendly. Food was delicious. We will definitely be back !!

This was a second visit in less than a month. Food quality and service are second to none, in a real pub with as much attention paid to the quality of the beer as there is to the food and wine. My only disappointment is that I'm restricted to visits for lunch as public transport from my location does not exist in the evenings. I recommend the Cornish Sole (beautifully cooked and presented) accompanied by a pint of Lighterman bitter! The service was excellent and being lunch there was time for friendly banter with the landlord/barman which added greatly to the atmosphere and enjoyment of our day

We had a wonderful dinner on Monday evening with both delicious food and excellent service making for a really great evening. Thank you to all.

While a lovely looking pub from the outside that would make you want to go in and have a drink it was still a big surprise as to just how good the food was. Excellent service from friendly staff, good wine list, varied menu ( there will be something for everyone) it’s just nice food done well. Heartily recommended.

Fantastic Sunday dinner - very dog friendly too

Wow! What a pub. Tap House to the Exeter Brewery with their fabulous beers across the bar. Like stepping back in time, this is a real traditional boozer; friendly and relaxed, no music or machines, just the sound of banter and conversations. Did I mention they do food? Well, the food is fine dining in an old fashioned pub setting, not something you get too often these days, and certainly not to the standards they set. They serve local British produce cooked to extremely high standards and presented beautifully... the service was also attentive without being intrusive, with every need catered for with the minimum of fuss. Finally, the Hour Glass is very dog-friendly, and our dog was also treated to some lovely snacks too. Who could ask for more?

Booked a pre theatre meal at 6:00pm - pub wasn't too busy at that stage. Service was friendly and professional and the food was really good - we ordered a steak and a burger and both were very well cooked. The steak came with excellent hand cut thick chips whilst the burger had smaller skin on fries but they were also very good. Shared a very nice chocolate mousse for dessert. There's a good wine list although some of the wines on it are quite expensive. By the time we were leaving the place was getting pretty busy. We'll definitely be back!

A definite 5 star! This is a difficult review, we almost don't want to tell you how wonderful our experience was - we almost want to keep this place a secret for ourselves! As soon as we stepped in the door the experience started with excellent hosting. Sitting down for our meal and experiencing the starters made us aware that our food had been prepared by someone special. The standard was at another level all the way through the meal. Two very happy customers! We highly, highly recommend The Hour Glass

Food tasted great! Love the ambiance of the place and staff were warm and friendly. One of the best beef roasts I’ve ever had. I love the chocolate mousse pudding as well! Staff just took a bit of time with bringing the machine for card payment but we understand since it was quite a busy day. Will definitely come back next time and try other items on the menu.

A little gem of a pub and close to the city centre. The range of beers are good and the wine list is pretty good too. We had lunch on a Sunday but only one of us opted for the Sunday Roast (beef as it happens) with the rest of us choosing from the wider menu. We were all very pleased with our choices which ranged from Monkfish "Scampi" to Crab and Prawn Pappardelle. Portions were good and each dish was crafted well and offered good value for money - oh and the Roast Beef was pronounced very good too. This place is well worth a visit at any time, either for food or even just for a drink. It has a warm welcome and a really good vibe about it.

Had a wonderful anniversary lunch at Kenton park estate this weekend. The food and wine were amazing, as was the service. Bought some of the lovely rose fizz to take home. Will definitely return.

What an excellent day. The sun was shining, the new sparkling rose was flowing and the food was incredible. It was a birthday celebration lunch that went off perfectly. I have nothing but good things to say about Kenton Park Estate. I’ve been a number of times before and the atmosphere, food and wine is all top drawer. Thanks to all of the staff for your amazing hospitality.

Perfect lunch in a glorious setting! We visited for Mother’s Day and dined in one of the pods. 8 of us including 2 young children. We were so well looked after by Paul and the food was fantastic!
