Anyone remember this place when it was K-FOG in the early eighties? Way ahead of its time serving Pacific Rim food out of San Francisco. Anyway, I digress. Jack’s it is now and has been for some time and I always enjoy my meals here. Plenty of choice in terms of food and wine and there always seem to be set menus/special offers if you want to watch the pennies. Not your standard fare either with a French/Med/North African thing going in which makes for a pleasant change. The only thing I don’t like is the telly that’s been added. No volume (thank the Lord) but not my cup of tea in a restaurant. But that’s a minor quibble. I would highly recommend Jack’s.

Travelled with a disabled lady in a wheelchair and also an elderly lady in her eighties for a funeral. The Motel owner was fantastic, re-arranging breakfast times to suit our needs and driving us the evening before in his own car to ensure we knew the route to the crematorium . The accommodation was spotlessly clean with delightful gardens, but it was the kindness and helpfulness of Terry who made it for us. Thank you Terry, you are a star!

The Zen, St Annes, is a wonderful experience. We have been several times and whether you are a large or small party you will be given the same VIP treatment.We went on one occasion for my husband's 50th, the youngest guest was 5 and the oldest > 70-all of us were given the Ernest service.Beautiful surroundings, great food, batteries for our camera, lovely wine, children welcome and a surprise gift for the Birthday Boy.We save this restaurant for special occasions, I have never written a Thank You letter to a restaurant before this perfect night-thank you Zen, all staff brilliant!

Just come back from dining on the Meze menu. Such a beautiful day, actually considered cancelling our booking and lighting the bbq at home. Also was a little apprehensive about going to a place in Layton. SO, SO, glad we didn't cancel and glad we didn't let any silly prejudice about location get in the way. The food was absolutely fantastic!!! I've dined in Michelin starred establishments and similar and this lovely little place can hold its head high in their company. Table for 6, 5 of us had the meze menu and it was just beautiful food. Service was spot on too. Prices were very good, but none of it matters compared with the food. Just superb, well done everyone at Go Greek. We will definitely be back. thanks for a great night!

Just been to the Olive Tree. What can I say? If you want poor quality, overpriced, tasteless food, in thankfully small portions, you'll be in the right place. I love Greek food, but would never return here.

went to toast for lunch with some friends we all enjoyed the food and service nice bright modern place would recommend great place to eat fab!!

For a good few years my best friend and I used to go to Dahlia's. Admittedly we haven't been for a while but I am going today for my nan's 85th birthday and I know already that it will be great because the service is great, the food is great, and that's the reason why I will forever keep going back. The cafe's club sandwich and curly fries is my favourite and the restaurant food is all my favourite too. Keep up the good work Dahlia's!

Had a wonderful meal with friends last night at the Retro Night. The food and service were 100%. Can't wait for our next visit.

Always excellent, whether you eat in or take out. Absolutely superb!

I and 2 friends went for lunch at 1pm on Friday. initially the menu looked well varied but by the time i had been told that my first 3 choices of main course were not available, i was less than impressed - no chicken and leek bake, no lasagna, no noodles and no mashed potato. i opted for the Cajun pork medallions on rice - the pork was overcooked and the dish was dry overall. The place in my opinion is a miracle of style over substance but if you want good tasty food, go elsewhere.

Brilliant when you eat in but take-outs are never as good! On a few occasions it's been disappointing, it's just not the same standard you get when you eat in. Staff are always friendly and happy to help and the bar downstairs is fantastic! Nothing better than to finish your night with some karaoke!

Visited the restaurant this evening and wasn't disappointed! Food was delicious and the service was excellent, I can thoroughly recommend the Lamb Sheek to start and the Akbkori Chicken for main, (which we were offered as a complementary main dish). We were also offered a complimentary drink at the end of our meal and all this at a very reasonable price. Will definitely visit again and absolutely recommend!

Tried the Sparling for the first time since re-opening today (26th June 2011). My wife and I used to quite like the old Sparling not withstanding its faults (service wasn't always great) so were looking forward to our Sunday dining experience. In summary everything was ok but that was it. It would appear that the food, décor and atmosphere has changed for the worse. Most of the restaurant has been retained but where it has been changed it is not for the better. Cheap melamine tables and what was a great seating area has gone. I even noticed some of the fitting in the gents had been replaced with some cheap B&Q specials. The food was more pub grub than gastropub. Large portions don't make a meal for me. The soup looked suspiciously like a famous branded tomato favourite. Everything was OK but that was it. I just felt the place had been cheapened somewhat.

Anatolia, St Annes, is something of a hidden treasure. From the outside it could be mistaken for a takeaway, but step inside to the clean and tidy interior and you will be welcomed by friendly attentive staff.The food is cooked over an open BBQ with a variety of Turkish food for (lamb, chicken and vegatarian) .We had an Effes beer whilst choosing.I had Babunya Pilaki-tasty borlotti beans to start, my husband had Hellim, a not- too- salty hallumi.He then had delicious tender lamb shank and I had Iskender, another lamb dish ,which strangely had chunks of turkish bread in the tomato sauce and was dressed with youghurt. Wines last night were Turkish white and Lindemann's sermillion. We were too full to sample the dessert menu (baklava, sticky toffee pudding or syrup sponge). Lovely evening, tasty food and excellent service.Yet another great restaurant in St Annes.
