Empress Grill Room – BlackpoolMy wife and I can honestly say that we have never had a sub standard meal at JKs Steakhouse and we have had quite a few meals there. Everything is home cooked and sourced fresh that morning,my wife said the home made celery soup was gorgeous and I had the home made steak, ale, and mushroom pud and can honestly say it was superb and we look forward to eating there again very soon.
JK’s Steakhouse – BlackpoolTaste is under new management. I went in there last night (29-8-2011). It was fairly busy and had cosy and friendly atmosphere. The staff were very attentive and polite. They offered choices off a set 3 course menu for £11.50. I'm a vegetarian and was catered for easily. This place gave us a really special experience, the food was so well put together, the portions ample but top quality. It was like something a top french chef would create. There is nothing like this anywhere in the area it is a truly different dining experience. I would confidently recommend to anyone,
Taste – Thornton-CleveleysI have lots of nice thing to say about the food & service at Anatolia. It is a lovely family run business, run in all sincerity. We as a family have absolutely loved eating there specially because of the friendly atmosphere and excellent food served .The food is a perfect blend of the West and East, very juicy, yet not spicy, suitable to all palates. The Belly dancing night is an added night of great fun & vibrance, which resounds the authenticity of the whole cuisine---I simply recommend it as 'the best' in town.We in St Annes are very lucky to have the best turkish restaurant in town.A must try---!!!!
Anatolia – St. Annes-On-SeaGennar Italian Restaurant Poulton Le Fylde - Excellent! white Rioja, Fegatini alla Veneziana, chicken liver starter, Vitello Provencale - Veal cooked in a mushroom, onion, garlic, tomato and cream sauce. [Served with potatoes and vegetables of the day], tiramisu (home made - absolutely to die for...!) - £19.70 per head... bargain!
Dom’s Italian – Poulton-Le-FyldeHad carvery lunch with four friends last week. One chose the special chicken Korma which was delicious, the rest had carvery. Meat beautiful, vegetable choice great.Staff friendly and attentive. Great value particularly if using vouchers for 2 for 1. Can recommend highly.
Tavern at the Mill – Thornton-CleveleysDiscovered this place by accident 3 years ago and now insist on going every year when we stay in the area. The food menu is wonderful...plenty of options(even my fussy child finds something!). The desserts are out of this world! its a friendly place, with great staff...prices are great..think for 4 of us to eat, have dessert and drinks we paid about 35 pounds. Best place to eat when your in that neck of the woods!
Bispham Kitchen – BisphamFor years I have driven past this place. so for a change I booked a table for our wedding anniversary. How disappointed we were. As soon as we walked in the door we were rushed to our table, we wasn't offered a drink at the bar. On entry there was no atmosphere. Even though its newly decorated it was like something from the 70's. The two men who ran the restaurant just gave orders out to the young waitresses, addressing them as 'you'. I asked a waitress for a wine list, she didn't know what it was. The food menu was no different than any other Italian restaurant. When our food arrived it was average. But still we felt rushed. We had a starter, main, dessert and coffee in 1hr 15mins. When paying the bill the manager who was taking my money (£85 for 2 people) don't speak at all. No hello, please, thank you or even good bye. In all food ok, over priced. Service no better than a greasy spoon. With them being kids its cheap labour with no experience. Minimum wage attitude. Save
Da Carmelo – GarstangMy son treated me to dinner at The Olive tree yesterday and every mouthful was delicious from starter to yummy dessert,I can,t recommend it highly enough and I can't wait to visit again .The service was excellent too ,discreet but on the ball.
Olive Tree Brasserie – St. Annes-On-SeaHave frequented this establishment many times as Burlingtons and always been satisfied. Today, a much more modern restaurant but with undoubtedly a much poorer level of service. I believe in constructive criticism & not just criticism! We arrived at the restaurant at 4.30 and requested a table for 4, the restaurant was quiet but we were told we could have a table but would have to vacate by 6.30 . Not a problem until it took 50 minutes from ordering to be served our starters, one of the party had a traditional prawn cocktail, served in a tall glass with a knife & fork!!!! As time was not on our side we just got on with it. Along came the main courses and generally the food was very good, my daughter chose belly of pork with chorizo sausage, the one slice of chorizo was no more than 2mm thick, I was served with the sirloin steak as ordered, and credit where credit is due the stake was cooked to perfection, but was not quite sure about the quarter of iceberg lettuce that accompanied it, yes a quarter of iceberg lettuce (perhaps they were at a good price today, the desserts were ok and when served with the bill for just short of £100.00 we realised an extra starter had been included on our bill!!! Ah well where next?
The Broughton Inn – GarstangWe visited recently with friends. It was truly a memorable visit. The food was of very good quality and the ambiance superb- don't miss this gem by the WYRE!
Cartford Inn – Great EcclestonI am sitting outside jk's now after just eating, I can only echo the comments that have been posted. Excellent food, excellent staff, and just enjoying the light show on the precinct. We will def eat here again and recommend it to all old young and families
JK’s Steakhouse – BlackpoolThere are over 15 regular teams who have been coming to the quiz at the Bay for over 10 years. All of them concur - it's a great Thursday night out!! Long may it continue!!!!
Bay Horse Hotel – Thornton-CleveleysThe food is fine, the service however is shocking! We were frequently left for very long periods with no drinks or food and when mentioned to staff, one of them proceeded to shout across the restaurant at us in front of customers!!
Margherita – St. Annes-On-SeaI recommend the Mandarin. The beef curry was gorgeous...
Michael Wan’s Mandarin – Blackpoolfood was really nice first time and i'm even coming back on 20th for my hen night thanks for the lovely food will defo be tell friend and family thanks laura
Woks Cooking – LythamHighly recommend this restaurant for excellent food and the service provided was above and beyond the norm. Our waitress *Mavis* was a star and very very helpful without being intrusive. Great lady. As stated the food was excellent, well cooked and presented and great value for money. We would recommend the Red Lion to anyone. We noted that children were well catered for too. Top marks Red Lion and Mavis
Red Lion Beefeater Restaurant and Pub – BisphamMy better half and I got a little lost and ended up in Fleetwood (nice little coastal town). We searched around a few restaurants (one was charging £22 a plate, we assume they were having a laugh). In the end we chose The Mount over The Euston nearby and we were so glad we did. It has all the charm that corporations try so hard to mimic, really spacious and the staff were really helpful. It had loads of secluded spots so we didn't have to eat looking at anyone else (I like privacy but didn't expect it, was lovely to get it). We ordered a ranch burger (for her) and a Steak & Ale pie for me. The chips are standard pub chips nothing special but the burger was lovely. The bap was soft like it had just been bought for the bakers, not one of those cheap ones. The burger was delicious. I kept stealing some from my missus when she wasn't looking. My pie was great, really beefy and tasty, the pastry was good and I got veg with it. The thing was we must have paid about £10 and we got the biggest portion sizes I've ever seen. I kept stuffing my face even after I knew I had to stop cos of the pain in my stomach! My girlfriend was in hysterics watching me gorge on the food. Naturally we left a tip and wouldn't go anywhere else if we were in fleetwood. Also they had some nice cider with raspberry thing... looked like rose wine but was really gorgeous. Oh yeh and the pub looks out on the bay too so you get a great view if you want it too. This is one of two places I would take family that I know of on the Fylde (other is a Chinese).
