We had Sunday lunch on the 24th of May. The food overall was fine and eatable although my roast potatoes were a bit dry and tough, but the slow cooked roast beef was tinder and soft. The ploughman’s was ok, but my wife was disappointed that the cheese was thin slices and not a chunk of cheddar. When we arrived the service at first was good. However, during the course of our stay, the service deteriorated badly. It seemed we were forgotten about. After the meals arrived and were consumed. The plates were left for a long time; nobody came to check if our food was fine and did not ask us if we wanted more drinks. Several times we had to call over the staff to clear our table and order desserts and more drinks. Overall, we were very disappointed with our dining experience after hearing of such good reviews. After this experience we are not certain if we will return.

Lovely breakfast in the cool garden. Atmosphere and food were both excellent and the service was friendly and efficient. We will be going again (and again and again!!). TO be recommended.

The food has excellent flavour and the fresh ness of the ingredients is outstanding. Combined with friendly, attentive staff and a happy atmosphere, it is a joy to visit .

We had a wonderfully tasty breakfast on Saturday morning! All the ingredients used were great with good quality sausage and bacon. The deal at the time was £10 for a full English - excellent value for money! Compliments to the chef and a big shout out to our waitress Tracey who was very welcoming and friendly at all times and gave us some excellent local information, including where we could park for free (!) in Chipping Sodbury!

After some time away, I finally came back to Caffè e Vino and it absolutely did not disappoint. I had the pizza and honestly, it was better than in many places in Italy. The ingredients were clearly high quality and everything was prepared with real care and authenticity. I didn’t try the pasta myself, but the dishes coming out to the tables next to us looked incredibly inviting — and judging by the reactions of the people eating them, they were just as good as they looked. Finding real Italian cuisine in the UK is not always easy, but at Caffè e Vino you can go with confidence. On top of that, the staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even better.

We stayed at The Chester House Hotel and ate in the restaurant on 18th May, The staff were very attentive and pleasant, we sat in the bar area for pre dinner drinks then were shown to our table. We both had prawn starters which we enjoyed, then my husband had the lasagne which he said could have done with more meat. I had the ‘special’ which was seafood risotto they brought me a huge bowlful of watery rice with bland seafood mixed through and I regretted my choice almost immediately. We did have an affogato desert which we shared can’t really go wrong with that. As it was my husbands birthday we had a nice evening other than our choices of main course. The music was Harry Styles and current due to the young staff I presume not your usual restaurant background music.

Excellent restaurant fantastic food with fantastic staff nothing is too much trouble. The serving staff Meg & Alice are wonderful girls. The chef and Davide are all excellent. The risotto is excellent so are the chicken dishes and the steaks. Very authentic. If you are looking for a taste of Italy this is the restaurant to try.
