The Master Builder – SouthamptonLovely attentive staff . Lovely atmosphere. Starter lovely and ample for 4 mains were was a different matter. Hard fish, soggy chips peas that had dried up on the heater. And the pie was not nice. And it’s on the expensive side . Sorry but we won’t be returning.
The Master Builder – SouthamptonFan Dabi Dozi, Great vibes at this English Tavern! Nostalgia all around, just before the start of the Christmas season, Very considerate staff towards my son who has allergies, They gave us great seats too, Our pup Brutus was super impressed as well. Super starters! Salt and pepper squid Grilled artichokes Nachos with Chilli, jalapenos and Cheese. Massive Mains! Steaks, Fish and Chips, Burgers, Pizzas All so delectable. Super value for money when going out!
The Platform Tavern – SouthamptonFood was delicious and great price .
Spoon World Buffet and Bar – PortsmouthThe vegan roast was one of the best I've ever had. Friendly staff and a great place all round.
The Platform Tavern – SouthamptonIt was, as always a great lunch and staff. However, our waitress did not know what a sherry was or that a ginger beer did not come as a half pint or a pint. She was absolutely charming, but needed to seek help. Also when I got my sherry it was served in a tumbler! I politely asked her to transfer it to a sherry glass which she did.
The Half Moon – PetersfieldA great evening on 22nd Nov with a group of 4. The friendliness and help from staff was outstanding! Lovely, caring people. Even the punters were friendly, making a great atmosphere. The Devil's Damned String Band played excellent Bluegrass - brilliant musicians. As a real ale fan I found the beer choice very good. The food was good value pub grub.
The Platform Tavern – SouthamptonWe went for a Sunday carvery. As usual 4 meats to choose from and a good choice of vegetables. All lovely and hot. Very friendly staff who are always on the go. A lovely pub to visit, would definitely recommend.
The Master Builder – SouthamptonWe went for Sunday lunch and had booked a table. The pub was extremely busy but served quickly at the bar. The carvery was excellent, 4 meats to choose from and a good selection of vegetables, Yorkshire pudding, stuffing and roast potatoes. Food was hot and fresh, we are going to try a wseekday lunch next.
The Master Builder – SouthamptonWe had a fabulous time at the Master Builder on 15/11. Food was lovely & good portions. We had the Christmas Party menu for 6 of us. It was all easy to book online & the staff were very helpful. When we arrived the table was decorated very festive & we had everything we needed. Prawn cocktail was delicious. Turkey Dinner & mushroom Wellington were lovely. The vegetables were cooked soft & not hard, the roast potatoes were crispy but fluffy on inside. We couldn’t fault it, everything was perfect with a Christmas party atmosphere. We felt very well looked after. Can’t fault it.
The Master Builder – SouthamptonWe had an amazing Sunday lunch yesterday at the Platform Tavern . Food was delicious ,best roast dinner and lovely roast dinner pie . The staff were lovely very attentive without being over bearing .We had a lovely time we didn’t feel rushed in any way . We will definitely be back and very happy to recommend
The Platform Tavern – SouthamptonThe Chequers is one of our favourite places to go for Sunday lunch in the area we went on Sunday 17th of November. I had beef and pork and my partner had chicken. The quality of the meat and vegetables were excellent as usual but I did notice that the gravy maybe had some wine flavouring in it which meant that the taste overpowered the food for myself. Red cabbage was one of the vegetables and it would be nice to be offered an alternative vegetable
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonLove this place. Lived here for 6 years and only discovered it last month. Been there twice now. So much choice and really tasty. High turnover so food always fresh.
Spoon World Buffet and Bar – PortsmouthWent out for a meal as four, booked it for 7:30pm arrived about 15 minutes early which we would have happily waited till 7:30. The man asked us what time we were booked in for and scoffed as we were slightly early and I mentioned we were happy to wait. He then signalled us to move across to pay. Confused as to what the price was as they have no pricing, and students apparently also don’t get it cheaper on saturdays she rudely pushed the card reader onto my phone. I was very confused and mentioned how it was abrupt and very rude to just tap it on my phone without me checking first. Food was ok, lots of it! Service as we walked up was quick and straightforward which was fine we got told the drinks are 1.50 for refillables which we later found out was 3.50. £21.99 for food and then an extra £3.50 for drinks? surely not. Staff were not very friendly, rudely collecting plates which we hadn’t even finished when told we were still eating they said sorry there is more up there ? the italian section was completely empty and the chocolate fountain was broken apparently when we asked and the lady doing our pancake looked like she’d seen a ghost when we asked if we could have more than one topping? probably won’t be coming back here for a while
Spoon World Buffet and Bar – PortsmouthOur second visit and once again we found attentive staff, great food, good portions, clean facilities, lovely pub all round. What more could you ask for?
The Master Builder – SouthamptonAlways a welcoming staff. Rapid and accurate service. Good food and well kept beer.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonCould not fault this restaurant. Me and my family had a excellent experience. The food was delicious and we were spoilt for choice. Our 3 children of 12, 12 and 9 years old described it as ' being in a dream'. Fantastic service, used plates were quickly collected and nothing was too much trouble, very polite waiters/waitresses. We will definitely be back! Just could do with a little music in the air for atmosphere. Superb though.
