Just moved into our house which is within walking distance of The Master Builder. Booked a table, taking a chance, very, very glad I did. Staff were very welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble for myself & my family. Food was excellent, beer was good. I've got a feeling I'm going to becoming a regular. The staff seemed to know all the customers & I got the feeling of it being an old fashioned local but with a modern twist being quality food served hot & well cooked. Thank you.

Excellent evening with great cocktails and food. This was my second visit and it didn’t disappoint.

We have been for a Sunday carvery four times now with our friends and will be booking our fifth. The staff are lovely and the carvery is delicious. Love the cauliflower cheese. Totally recommend.

Absolutely Fantastic. Clean and hygienic. Excellent customer service from entering to being seated. Tables were attended to promptly. Bar staff and serving staff helpful and friendly. Good selection of mains and pudding. It tasted great, hot and delicious. The steak grill wasn't working which was a shame as I'd have liked to try that too. And tea or coffee would have been a nice end to the meal which wasn't available. But overall great price, we thoroughly enjoyed it. My children too. We will be back again ! Thank you

Good, quick and friendly service. Good foo. Arrived on time. Made the waiter aware we were in a hurry as attending a show - did all he could to ensure it arrived on time. Wiould visit again when in Portsmouth

Fab family meal had at TMB. We'd not been here for a while but we're pleasantly surprised how good the food was. The staff were really friendly and made us feel very welcome. Will definitely be back for more!

One again The Platform Tavern came up trumps! 4 of us attended the Friday Blues Night. Food was fantastic, service amazing and music brilliant. Will be back!

Great atmosphere. Clean restaurant. Friendly staff. I thought food was tasteless however 2 others in our group of 6 didn’t agree. Wide selection of food.

We all enjoyed our Sunday roasts although the potatoes weren’t as good as usual (a bit dry & could have done with a bit more roasting) & the red cabbage more vinegary than usual. However, I do love the the fact that we’re given a large dish of fresh veg & plenty of meat.

Great Sunday roast with a lovely selection of home cooked veg. Especially the parsnips, cauliflower cheese and roasties!

First time visiting for a carvery. Highly recommend, busy but understandable, lots of selection and not stingey on the meat neither. Will absolutely be returning

What a lovely pub. Great staff, lovely customers, a really friendly atmosphere. The steak and ale pie was a tasty and generous portion. The Mac cheese was lovely and even if both of these main meals had been poor we would have returned just for the chips! Just amazing! We were en route to the ferry and will definitely visit again next time.

A wonderful night celebrating my birthday. The food was amazing, very tasty and the drinks were sensational. Definitely planning on visiting again soon xx
