Always a pleasure to spend a Sunday afternoon in the beer garden after a wonderful Sunday lunch at the Chequers.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonExcellent food and service. My liver and bacon was really tasty - but there was just a bit too much for me to finish the plate!
The Half Moon – PetersfieldSunday lunch for Father’s Day, couldn’t fault it, lovely helpful staff too.
The Platform Tavern – SouthamptonLovely Sunday Lunch for Father's Day. The roasts were lovely. Nice choice of desserts to follow. Always good service at Half Moon, attentive but not too much. Like so many places though, started to get a bit difficult to converse once it got busy due to there being very little to absorb the sound bouncing off the walls etc.
The Half Moon – PetersfieldWe booked a table for 14.00 on Father’s Day. Was seated quickly. Staff very friendly. Only down side was we were there 45 minutes, and hardly any food. Nothing was refilled and trays remained empty. Heard several complaining I also complained regarding this. Time limit is 1.5 hours and we are mostly nuggets. So the price we paid for this was a joke and not impressed. Been here many times before, never an issue but this time was appalling, and most probably would not come again on a special day.
Spoon World Buffet and Bar – PortsmouthLovely Sunday lunch for Father’s Day. Food, value and service were brilliant. A little disappointed with our table. 5 of us dining and we seated on to a table made for 4 to eat. It did seem a little crammed. That is the only criticism. Everything else great.
The Platform Tavern – SouthamptonIve never been to a restaurant that refuses to let me in for my booking when a guest was late. I have cancer and bone disease and the waiting didnt help. Requst for a cushion was ignored even though i asked in advance. Food was ok but some things were not refilled. Crispy duck with no wraps? Small plates? No napkins.
Spoon World Buffet and Bar – PortsmouthHad a meal with my family on Saturday the 15th June, food all tasted great and the waiting staff and bar staff were really friendly and helpful. My Gripe is that the pork meal and fillet steak meal were very stingy portions especially for £19 & £32 I don’t often moan but I do feel for good money we should have left feeling full and satisfied. Those meals were not value for money, whilst we were prepared to pay the money for the meals, it was expected to have a bit more the one mushroom and very small chips, and a few small slices of pork fillet which also is not expensive meat.
The Half Moon – PetersfieldStopped off at the Half Moon on our way down to Dorset and had a very enjoyable meal and the service was excellent enabling us to get on our way without delay
The Half Moon – PetersfieldWe had a lovely lunch on a Sunday at Max's, relaxed but attentive service, evocative decor, good atmosphere and exquisite food. Heartily recommended, especially for fitting around a performance at the Mayflower as we did.
Max’s Brasserie – Southampton5 of us booked in for lunch on this occasion; we're a reasonably regular group. As expected the food and the beer were in good nick. The 'pie of the day' was minced lamb , generous portions.
The Platform Tavern – SouthamptonMax… the wine tasting event was exceptional. Great food, the ravioli was outstanding, well done Gennaro. The wine complemented each course very well. And, what great service your staff were faultless. Looking forward to the next one. Grazie Mille Max and the team.
Max’s Brasserie – SouthamptonThis was the sixth time we had visited for Sunday lunch had it been the first it would have been the last as our main meal took 45mins to come out and according to the waitress it had been forgotten so unless I had said something think I’d still be waiting .On a good note the food was amazing and the staff are very polite and where gutted we had been missed .Yes we will be going back
The Half Moon – PetersfieldLovely Sunday lunch here on my birthday. Eaten here a few times before, well worth coming back. Staff excellent.
The Half Moon – PetersfieldGreat food and atmosphere one of the most interesting pubs in Southampton which also has great live bands on a regular basis some afternoons and evenings.
The Platform Tavern – SouthamptonExcellent lunch, staff are wonderful and helpful. Love going there!
The Half Moon – PetersfieldGreat meal before a show. Nothing was too much trouble with changes made to two pasta dishes which came out perfect. Wine and deserts were also great.
Max’s Brasserie – SouthamptonThis was our 2nd visit. Had a lovely warm welcome when we arrived and the food was delicious, especially the date sponge pudding. Friendly and attentive service throughout the evening and a relaxed atmosphere. Will certainly be back again.
