Great fan of our lovely, independent cocktail bar so when I saw the advert to take part in tasting cocktails for the new menu I had to join in! Great atmosphere, very attentive, polite and friendly staff with lovely cocktails.

We both had lunchtime sausage and mash, it was great that you could have a small or regular order. We both thoroughly enjoyed it, well cooked and the vegetables that went with it were not something we had come across before but they worked very well. Service was very good and we will definitely be back.

Amazing place. Great cocktails and extremely good service. The waitress never let us be without a drink, she ensured there was never an empty glass and I noticed she was the same with all the other customers, a true hard worker. No food was eaten so can’t comment on that but 10/10 from me.

Came for a meal on Friday night and had pre booked. As usual, amazing, delicious home cooked food in a cosy atmosphere. Love it here

Done a last minute booking with the wife and daughter for lunch..had the winter menu and I had the mussels to start with and the girls has the camenbert for two..I had the fish for main aslo and the girls both had something different,spinach and chicken curry and the Indian styled beef burger.and we all had something different for pudding.i was naughty and had the lemon marang with custard,my favourite.have to say the food was great and the staff wonderful.would use them again and will..thank you to all the staff there for making our afternoon trip there a happy one,and to the young guy who served us.

Your website does not do the pub justice. It should be reviewed and improved. We were very pleasantly surprised and enjoyed a most enjoyable lunch. We will definitely return when we are next in the locality

Birthday drinks .... such a lovely evening. The staff were so friendly and very attentive. The atmosphere is fantastic. Music subtle. Very cute decor. The drinks were fabulous (Cherry Bomb and Pina Colada's - yum !). Lighting could do with a tone down on a dimmer to make it a bit more subdued and sexy but other than that little niggle, all amazing and definitely going back. Yes please ! x

Friday evening at The Platform Tavern, another excellent live music performance! Unfortunately the Specials Menu we were told was unavailable which was a shame as my partner and I were intending to chose from it ! However this was no problem in the end as we thoroughly enjoyed our burgers, nicely presented with a tasty slaw and thick fries, pleasantly washed down with the house red ! Good value food and wine, great atmosphere as always , friendly efficient staff and good professional musicians - an evening thoroughly enjoyed once again !

We visited The Chequers on a weekend break having picked it following online research. We were not disappointed. Lovely warm welcome, busy so clearly popular. The service was first class, very friendly and efficient, the food was excellent with a good choice of menu options and was very good value for money. The sort of place we would use regularly if we lived in the area. Thoroughly recommendable.

We came to the Half moon yesterday with our parents. We all had the Sunday roast , either beef, lamb or pork , it was delicious. My lamb was perfectly cooked , the roast spuds were really good with plenty of veg and a tasty yorkshire pud to top it off. The desserts were also delicious. The staff here are very polite and did a great job. Reasonably priced as well.

Went to the SP bar in Friday 14th Jan for cocktails to celebrate my daughter's 18th. Staff were great and cocktails were lovely. Can comment on food as we just went for drinks, which were lovey. Great atmosphere and a great little place.
