This is the second time I've visited the Platform Tavern for a Sunday roast. Both times it has been delicious. I had roast beef the first time & lamb on the second visit. You get plenty of food & it's good quality. The staff are really friendly & nothing is too much trouble. The pub has a lovely atmosphere too & everyone is made to feel welcome. I will definitely return for another roast & highly recommend a visit.

A small group out for a Sunday roast turned into 10 people (including kids) & the pub couldn’t have been more accommodating. It was exactly the afternoon we didn’t know we needed. Excellent roast and great service from all. Will absolutely be coming again, feels like we have stumbled on a little gem. Thank you

We went for Sunday lunch with visiting guests from overseas. Reception upon arrival was attentive and jovial. Seated immediately. Had a variety of waiting staff attend to us for drinks and meal order. Later on when more tables in the service was a little more delayed but still friendly. We had the roast beef roast dinners which was was excellent and loads on the plate. Would have liked to have known if they offered a child's portion for one of our senior guests as couldn't finish this portion. Disappointed that they did not gave any brandy in stock at the bar. Staff was very apologetic and happy the offer other suggestions. Overall it was an enjoyable lunch out in the New Forest. We will recommend and come back again as the weather warms up.

We went to the seahorse for Sunday lunch. The food was better than average - in fact it was very good. We had the steak pie and roast lamb. But the ambience was not so good - the restaurant was very cold as the heating was off and it was a cold March day. There wasn’t any feeling of coziness to counteract the chill. The staff however were efficient and service was good. A pity - the food was very good but we rushed home to warm up!

On Saturday 29th March, my best friend and I went to The Florence for lunch, and honestly, it was just what we needed. We were shown to a lovely, clean table straight away, and the decor is absolutely beautiful — it really sets the tone. We ordered food and cocktails, and everything was just as good as it looked. The cocktails were gorgeous, and what I really loved was that we didn’t feel rushed at all. It genuinely felt like we could just sit back, relax, and enjoy our time properly. We ended up having a really good catch-up, getting a lot off our chests — and it turns out that was exactly what we both needed. The waitress was brilliant; she gave us space but checked in at just the right times to make sure we were okay. The staff overall were attentive without being overbearing, which made such a difference. We didn’t even realise how much time had passed — we were there from 1:30 in the afternoon until 7:30 in the evening, which says it all really. Food was exceptional, the owner was lovely, the staff were polite and on it, and the decor just ties it all together x

Excellent food, value for money and very nice ambience. Will visit again. The only flip side was the Gents washroom which was in pathetic shape

Excellent as always. Friendly and helpful staff together with wonderful tasty food - the creamy garlic mushrooms were a level above- made our outing with my mum a very memorable lunchtime treat. Thank you

Excellent meal on a Thursday evening in a pretty busy restaurant and great breakfast the next morning. The staff were extremely good on both occasions. I would recommend. This is the second time we have visited and stayed over and the previous time was good too. The bar in the pub had a very busy and cheerful / noisy atmosphere early evening which we enjoyed.

poor quality food, a lot of it either watery or way too dry. kids running around everywhere trying to sit IN the dessert shelves and putting their hands in the food which was incredibly off-putting. two of the areas had "faulty" heat lamps (Indian and Italian) but no reduction in the overall price. I thought the desserts would make up for it and the woman making the crepes was lovely but honestly it was the most tough leathery crepe I've ever had in my life. avoid

I went there with my sister in law on a Sunday so had the carvery. The service was quick, everyone who we interacted with, was helpful, smiling and friendly. The food was very good, hot and tasty, the cauliflower cheese had a really creamy and cheesy taste. A very pleasurable experience and will definitely be going back soon, on a weekday to try something from the normal menu.

A group of us visited for the first time to try out the Sunday roast. We all agreed that it had to be one of the best Sunday roasts we had ever had. The beef was exceptional, as was the pork, and the vegetables were stunning. Pudding was delicious too. The service was faultless, and we will definitely be returning.
