Vesuvius Restaurant – MaidstoneI'm sure we would have enjoyed a meal there, but our car got stuck in mud in the dark and we had to be rescued. They told the guest who was waiting there for us that they would keep the kitchen open for a short while after 9pm, but when we called to say that we were on our way and would be there a few minutes after 9pm., they said they had closed the kitchen. Very disappointing. We didn't get to eat until after 10.30pm because everywhere we tried was closed. We ended up getting sandwiches at a service station. Felt quite ill by then, having been stressed out by our experience.

When we finally got our main dishes the fish wasn't cooked in the middle and clearly was frozen not having been defrosted properly. My partner had pasta with clams which gave her food poisoning and was really ill for two days. Really disappointing experience.

We phoned the contact number which did not pick up and we gave up after 25 mins when no one arrived to open up, my booking had been confirmed. Very disappointed.
