Fantastic service, venue and food.

Visited Verdes on Sunday 18th January and had yet another delicious meal. This restaurant never fails. Always well cooked and great ingredients. Service is really good!.

Visited The Plough again on Sunday 18/01/26 with family, this place really is a hidden gem and worth shouting about, the food is absolutely spot on.

After being shown to our seats we waited 25 minutes for someone to come and ask us if we would like a drink we ordered food ,we were still eating our garlic bread when our main courses came after asking for gap so all in all we eat 2 courses in less time than it took to get a drink. Food was excellent but very rushed .

We booked as a group of six friends for a Saturday evening meal. We arrived at 7:15 and were greeted by a very friendly young man. There were not many diners in the restaurant and we were served very quickly. The food was good and was tasty. The only downside was it was very cold in the restaurant and I had to leave my coat on for the whole time which didn’t give me a pleasant dining experience.

During 2025 we visited the restaurant several times, each visit was satisfactory and for a pub very nice. January 2026, I am sorry and I don't know what is going on. Staff as always very friendly. Food average steak's over cooked, only expensive wines available most out of stock. Sadly no heating on, very cold! Look at the reviews for Christmas 2025 and make your own decisions.

Service excellent. Attention to customer needs excellent. Food excellent. Can't fault anything at all. Always on point :-)

Second time visiting and not disappointed,food quality and the service is excellent.

We came for a family meal and ordered off the £14.99 set menu. However when the bill came we had been charged £21.95 each. When we questioned this the waitress said there was no such menu as £14.99! We had to go and point one out for her. Always check your bill here.

Amazing cheeseboards, fab service, delicious cocktails and gorgeous wine ( think the men enjoyed their beer too !) We love Riley’s !
