One of my all time favourite places. Old fashioned in a good way. Best duck in the UK I'm sure. Now has a brewery and great beer too!

Really enjoyed lunch at Gioia midweek. I chose a pizza which was really light and not at all oily like some pizzas can be. The service was welcoming and friendly, prices very reasonable. Will be returning soon.

Food was good; price was good. Staff just plain unfriendly and actually quite unhelpful in ways.

excellent pub in Carnforth near Lancaster.. it is called The Canal Turn.. the beer battered Haddock was the best I have ever tasted . The landlord welcomes pets and our newly adopted bulldog who had not been eating or drinking all day. Tucked into some beer batteries fish with as much delight as we did.. I would go there again and again. We rounded off the meal with iced berries in white chocolate. Which was to die for ...

Nice intimate modern restaurant in Earby. Good food and service. Good to be served by a couple of ladies in a Muslim restaurant for a change.

We have eaten here several times since Da Vinci opened couple of weeks ago, each time has been absolutely wonderful! The Italian chefs know how to cook proper authentic Italian food! We ate there last night and we thought it could not get any better, but the chef excelled above and beyond! Mike had a fillet steak of substantial size cooked to perfection, with proper home made hot chips and a peppercorn sauce, it was gorgeous! I had gamberoni sanape, which is king prawns plump and delicious cooked in a creamy mustard sauce served with rice and vegetables which was once again gorgeous! The drinks were lovely and cold and the food was hot and delicious. We have tried a few different things on the menu, cannot fault the food and choices. The front of house staff are all very caring, friendly and cannot do enough for you! We are very lucky to have such a lovely Italian Restaurant in our area!

This restaurant is fabulous it’s our little secrecy hideaway The 2 course menu is superb the salt/pepper calimari and sea bass main are our particular favourites and excellent value The staff are very courteous I was very angry by the comment below obviously froma jelous competitor In a way I’m loathed to give a good review as it may spoil it for us but We should give good praise when it’s the truth

Saturday lunch at the newly garlanded AA English Restaurant of the Year. It’s a real achievement for a Lancashire country pub to get this prestigious national award so we were really keen to give it a go. Finding it is half the battle (it’s in the tiny hamlet of Wiswell between Whalley and Clitheroe). Then you need to find an on-road parking spot which isn’t easy either. But it’s well worth the effort. The place has a lovely feel, mixing the old with the new décor-wise, and there was a choice of menus at lunchtime, including the full tasting menu if you really want to go for it. Lots of great-looking dishes and I went for the hake as a starter (served with a cheese fondue and ham sauce) and the mountain hare as a main (with aged parmesan, blackberries and whipped polenta). Great wine selection too (including by the glass) if that’s your thing. If I’m totally honest, it was a bit rich for lunchtime but that’s just my preference. And the service was a bit spotty. But minor quibbles really. Give it a go yourself.

Superior burrito in the heart of Lancaster. Succulent juicy marinated chicken . Would recommend for a filling tasty and cheap lunch. Better than most burrito bars I have tried!

They didn't have a Jalfrezi but offered to make me one. it was very nice, service excellent. free jug of iced water on the table. the building is an old one with real character. the interior does have the vibe of a Sultans palace to be fair!

The worst place to go for shisha and food, a headache that lasted days and the food made me sick. Preston Council produce extensive documents for illegal shisha lounges but allow this to go through?

We went yesterday for the first time and the food is exceptional. The minute you enter you feel the wonderfully relaxed atmosphere and lovely decor. The service is amongst the best I have ever encountered and the staff were friendly and professional. I had the Pan-fried Pigeon Breast followed by Steak and Ale Pudding and my girlfriend had Smoked Mackerel also followed by the Steak and Ale Pudding. The pint of Aspinall Witch is a joy to sample also. The pub is dogfriendly and staff made a real fuss of our Fox-red Labrador, providing water and treats for the well-execised mutt. This is a real gem of a place and I highly recommend a visit.

Love this little and real little pub. Had a couple of pints of Hawkshead and a very good Chilli Con Carne. The burgers that came out looked awesome too!

Since its refurbishment, The Royal Hotel in Heysham is a very nice place to visit for a meal and/or drink. The building has retained its character and has some comfortable and relaxing environments with an outdoor area which has heaters for when the chill sets in. The prices can be a little higher than normal for this type of pub, but for The Royal it is worth it for the comfort and relaxation we get as well as the standards of service generally. We have been in numerous occasions and overall it has been very good so we always look forward to our visits here.
