Food was very good but not recommended for families with children who don't eat an adult portion! We were brought 3 adult portions for my children - the youngest two being 3 and 4 - eldest was 8. They did not think to ask if my children required a child size portion. I presumed anyone with an ounce of common sense would know such young children were never going to eat such a portion ( and yes it was evident that those meals were for the children). We were told off for not specifying we required child size portions (even though we knew they did child portions as we had enquired over the phone) but as a good will gesture were given £4 off a £104 bill! I explained no one would order an adult portion for a 3 and 4 year old - I was assured that people do.... so they can share it! Share it? Yes I can understand that, but share 3 adult portions between 3 kids - how does that work? We were made to feel stupid and spoken to like children. Good food does not outdo poor customer service. Perhaps it was a bad night, it has some excellent reviews on here, but I will never go back. It left a very bad taste in the mouth.

Excellent selection of takeaway Indian sweet and savoury snacks. I recommend the stuffed peppers. Forget supermarket snacks eat the real thing!

This is a fabulous place for a 21st Birthday celebration. The food is lovely from the Carvery for Sundays lunches. I would highly recommend the Oak Royal.

My friend and I were visiting Preston for my 18th birthday and we were looking at local places to eat, and when asking for recommendations this was the place to be. so half an hour before we arrived we rang the pub and asked if a table was available for two for eating and we were greeted warmly with a chirpy sounding chap on the phone. once we arrived at the pub there was an instant buzz around us, a lovely warm atmosphere which makes you feel very welcome, we were given a choice in seating and guided to our table. once we has settled, we browsed the food and wine menu's the prices were good value and the food sounded delicious, we decided to share a starter as we were hoping to order dessert. we ordered the honey roasted salmon on a bed of vanilla bean mash and it was divine! - and it only lasted for a matter of seconds because it was that good! following for main we both ordered rump steak priced at £12 which is very reasonable, the food was presented to us in very short time and in huge portions, a big bowl of chips each; mushrooms; tomatoes and a salad served with steak - Delicious! half was through me and my friend were disappointed - We were full. we were desperate to finish but we were stuffed! Afterwards we realised it was quiz night and for a laugh we joined. It was great entertainment and the locals were fantastic helping us newbies along. All in all fantastic night. recommend the continental to anyone and everyone! Compliments to all the staff that made our stay thoroughly enjoyable!

Me and my wife have eaten out in the cariad lots of times, we keep going back because you can take your dogs in which is good we have 2 and the food is really good and good value for your money, all the cakes and food is all homemade and the staff are all polite and helpful, i would recommend it,

the deal menu is a deal under £12 for 2 people? fresh clean and friendly place

Have eaten here a few times now, consistently good food, love the self playing grand piano! Staff really nice. I always book it for parties and special occasions as they make such a fuss of us. ..Recommended

The transformation from the original pub restaurant is amazing. It is clean, fresh and modern and yet has maintained its character. Luciano and his staff are nothing less than charming and make eating out more like an experience. The menu is exciting and the specials board has some lovely dishes that are well worth the slightly higher prices. We look forward to our next visit.

i have family in this area and always visit the cariad as it has a lovely welcoming atmosphere, it caters for children and dogs too. lovely place and will continue to visit.

Just visited for a Sunday lunch. Good food and service - nicely paced service. Some of the food can be generously seasoned/spiced which may take a few by surprise.... but our 2 kids ate heartily and (could have) got change from £60 for 2 courses for family of 4 - so good value too.

There can be no knocking the food it was excellent. However the customer service was absolutely appalling. They lie and misadvertise their offers. We ordered two pizzas (no seafood) on their so-called special offer - all pizzas and pastas for £3.95 (excluding seafood dishes). When we got the bill we had to pay a £1.95 supplement. When I queried this the 'manager' said in an unpleasant tone - you had an expensive pizza, and then walked away from us. When we explained that no-where on the menu had it said that this pizza was excluded he threw the money back at us and told us to go and not come back, he barred us from the restaurant!!!! When we then demanded the service charge back he initially refused to give it to us, when I stated to call the police, the threw that at me too. He then repeated that we were banned and took a photograph of us!!! Yes we called the police! Complete nightmare, avoid at all costs.

Been to Amico Mio a number of times, never had a bad meal. Always great service, great food and great atmosphere. x

I have been visiting pond and duk now for some time both with family and friends and i try to find fault because well they can't be that good all the time can they? well i have to say I'm eating my words, the food never fails to impress and the staff are helpful no matter how busy, my self and colleagues went on the 16th of December we were loud and there was a lots of us but they delivered and the bill was reasonable, i think if yo can do it at Christmas when its so busy you have my vote! so if you are thinking of going then do, they best way if you haven't been before is try the deal really cheap for the quality.

The best fish and chips ever, and very nice staff very smiling and chatty. I definitely give it a big thumbs up!!! =D

We went to Ninos on a Wednesday night 6adults and 2 children,the food was superb and the waiters couldn't do enough for us,I have been before on a weekend and i did feel like I was being rushed to finish my meal so they could get another party on the table but not this night,great food lovely service!
