The Firepit Bar and Grill – RawtenstallWe went to the Highfield for a Halloween party on friday with the kids. Over a 150 turned up, what a fab night well run by all the staff a credit to the manager. We also had a meal before hand and was great value for money. Will return.
Highfield The – LeylandExcellent, friendly pub with welcoming staff. Visit this pub every saturday with family, young children. Always made to feel very welcome. Lovely log fire and excellent food. Would highly reccommend.
Smiths Arms – PrestonAfter much work, a well distributed family was brought together for a 73rd birthday. We should have know how dire it was, as this was halloween, and the place was like a ghost town. My partner went one side of the divide, to proceed to place the order, which were all confirmed as main courses, not starters. The lady then repeated the desired menu back to her. Unbeknown to us, two of the desired main courses were put through as starters. This affected me as I ordered three different buckets of wings. I ended up with two paltry buckets of three wings per bucket. Which upon tasting did not have the desired zinge as advertised. When challenged the delivery person said that the rest were coming. We asked for a burger with salad , no cucumber and no dressing and no chips. But lo and behold a burger was delivered to the partygirl including guess what? Chips and a fully dressed salad, with cucumber. I will admit on my salad I did not stress strongly enough how allergic I was to cucumber. Mine turned up un dressed in a smaller bowl and to some one as sensitive to cucumber. I could smell it , as the same blade had been used to prepare the salad. I went in search of the manager only to see three member so f staff larking around. I proceeded to advise the manager of the situation but after listening to me, his stance was that his staff were correct and that we as the customer were mistaken. He then proceeded to bring the member of staff into the conversation. I requested to continue with him and that this was between him and I. He continued to bring the member of staff into the conversation. The base line to this manager, that despite having a sign up in full view if the members of public, saying that camera's were being installed as 25.00 is going missing from the till, his staff were right and the customer was wrong. Whilst we walked out of an empty establishment, snide comments could been uttered by the staff behind the bar. I would never recommend this establishment to anyone , not even my dog!!
Highfield The – LeylandVisited with my wife one week after opening-day of this very cute, welcoming and atmospheric restaurant. Superb menu choice with great-value lunch list. High quality food and friendly attentive service. Very tasty steak and ale pie with lovely thin pastry lid and real chips! Equally satisfying mussels main dish. Yummy dessert - basil pannacotta with champagne-marinated strawberries - simply the best! Overall, wonderful value for money with a very reasonably priced wine-list. Don't delay in visiting this little gem!
Red Cat – ChorleyNice layout. Second visit. However disappointed the second time. Poor service as wanted drinks and did not get anyone to come to table to lace order. When we did finally it took 20 mins for drinks. Food was disappointing as there was insuffient food in the pots. Felt awful getting more than one seek kebab as I knew the other members of my party would not get any otherwise. Really wanted a pakora but there weren't any in the pots. Even on my second visit to the counter. There were no nan to eat my food. Had to keep asking. Then to top it off the food was cold. Sadly won't be returning.
Waheeds Buffet & Banquet Hall – BlackburnWe give the restaurant a ten, the food and service was very good. Keep it up.
The Firepit Bar and Grill – RawtenstallWent for a birthday meal with the family yesterday and was looking forward to it (mainly the hotpot). When mine arrived, it was flat and appeared to have been cooking for a long time compared to the one my daughter got. It tasted ok to begin with but as I got to the bottom of the dish, it was quite salty and inedible. My daughter arranged for a birthday cake to be brought out. The staff were kind enough to light the candles, despite being busy but didn't bring any knife to cut the cake nor any plates. We asked for a knife to cut the cake but it never arrived. In the end, we asked for the box twice before we got it so we could take it home. No one had any cake. After looking forward to the meal, all I can say is what a let down. May be we were treated this way because we aren't regular customers.
Clog and Billycock – BlackburnGreat carvery meal for myself and my wife. Grandson loved the endless supply of ice cream. So polite and spotless will use till the ice cream stops lol.
Old Mother Redcap Hotel – BlackburnHad a meal here a couple of months ago we had the banquet and it was absolutely gorgeous. Since then we have a takeaway every Saturday night . Love it.
The Golden Lion – MorecambeI had a fantastic steak from The NYC Steakhouse, one of the best I have ever had. However the sauce was very poor in comparison. Not sure about the decor, just not to my taste, it's all black.
NYC Steakhouse & Grill – PrestonFood excellent. Staff friendly and helpful. Took 82 people, everyone loved the food. Great value too.
Waheeds Buffet & Banquet Hall – BlackburnGood atmosphere. Friendly helpful staff and the food was absolutely fantastic. Just faultless. Will be back for sure. Well done guys..
Waheeds Buffet & Banquet Hall – BlackburnNice atmosphere and qood quality food. And seating is comfortable. Helpful and friendly staff. Will definitely visit again. Good luck Waheeds.
Waheeds Buffet & Banquet Hall – BlackburnMy wife and I booked a table for two, we had 3 courses of good food, the issue was service. We had a course of poppadums that before we had finished the waiter removed, announcing that our starters were ready. Then likewise as we had just had our plates removed and our main course served. Within 35 minutes we had had 3 courses in a very rushed affair. I was ready to order coffee and or desert, no desert menu offered when the waiter gave us a plate of hand wipes and orange segments. At this point we felt like we were being thrown out! We asked for the bill. This restaurant was recommended to us by several family members, so a massive disappointment, not one I am likely to return to.
Shapla Restaurant – BurnleyOk for the price, but have had better elsewhere for fish and chips.
Ali’s Chippery and Curry House – PrestonWow what a place 5 STAR. Top Quality Starters Main and Dessert. Nice Ambiance, Value for Money, Friendly Courteous Staff. Great high back seating arrangement complementing the decor. The chicken and corn soup is brilliant!!! The manager even gave us guys a jug of Mango juice on the house !!! What more can i ask for, well done.
Waheeds Buffet & Banquet Hall – BlackburnWent to a 40th birthday party and was very disappointed with their bar prices, other guests mentioned this also so it just wasn't me. It was one of the only 40ths I've attended where the majority of guests were still sober at the end of the night - if invited to another event at Bartle Hall I would definitely make an excuse and avoid. By having smaller profit margins I'm sure they could reap higher profits.
