Francos – AccringtonAbsolute favourite Chinese; Go there to celebrate every occasion, and just for a special treat! Love the early birds set with mushrooms & ribs!
Ocean Palace – DarwenI have been to Double Tree on a number of occasions, since it has opened. The food, by far is set to the best of standards, my children decided to book a table for fathers day, it went down a treat. Service is always fantastic, I do not have a bad word against them.
Double Tree Indian Restaurant – PrestonWhilst holidaying in Kirkby Lonsdale we opted for a take away from Spice Essence. The food was reasonably priced and very nice. It looked really nice inside and was busy even early in the evening
Spice Essence – Kirkby LonsdaleI was listening to Guild Radio Tv.co.uk on the Internet when one of the presenters spoke about a new restaurant called double tree and wonder were it was and i was told it was in Preston so i travelled from Lancaster to taste the food they were talking about and what can i say the food was absolutely delightful and the service was totally outstanding i would recommend this restaurant to anybody.Fantastic Indian cuisine.
Double Tree Indian Restaurant – PrestonI often go down to the Red Lion for tea because it is good quality, fresh food at very reasonable prices. I love the beef noodles, but for my past few visits I have forced myself to try other things on the menu and so I can now also highly recommend the monkfish risotto, Goosenard duck and fish and chips. The only thing left to say is go and try it out... the food really is fantastic.
Red Lion At Mawdesley – OrmskirkHad lunch at the Oyster and Otter with my Hubby and have to say we were very impressed! Staff were so friendly and attentive without intruding on our meal. The food was absolutely to die for and while the prices are perhaps above the average pub, the portion sizes were huge, and , this is NOT your average pub! We are already looking forward to returning to try other things off the menu. Infact, I texted me friend as we were leaving to tell her I had found us a great new place for a meal out!
Oyster and Otter – BlackburnCelebrated my mothers 40th at mjs last year and had an amazing night. Food was fantastic and staff were very friendly. Since our first visit we have been to mjs to celebrate 4 birthdays and a wedding! Overall experience = AMAZING,,
Springbank Manor – DarwenWe booked for my birthday and it was simply divine. The quality of food outstanding and the presentation Michelin standard. The whole place is quite creative yet relaxing and felt very private. Staff warm and welcoming and the chef Simon and Lee where very accommodating. We where even treated to beautiful live piano music, wonderful. And with a seasonal menu can't wait to go back.
Angels – PrestonI was very disappointed with the restaurant after hearing only good reports, firstly the beer was warm, the wine was not chilled, i ordered meat samosa which came and was cold, the main meal ( tandoori mixed grill) looked and tasted like it had been preheated and microwaved, when it came to pay the bill we waited 20 minutes when it eventually came the bill was £65.00 the waiter put in the card machine £95.00 luckily i noticed in time, however i will not be rushing to re-visit
Double Tree Indian Restaurant – PrestonExcellent everything cant wait to return. "save room for the desserts very special"
Amelies – ChorleyYet again i find myself writing another review of the best Italian restaurant in Preston, Last night me and my girlfriend had Tino himself cooking for us, and as per usual with Tinos the food and service was fantastic, infact it was that good that we will be returning in about 30mins, i cant recommend this restaurant highly enough, go and see for yourself.
Tinos – PrestonHad a fabulous meal at the New Pond in Cross Street, Preston. Picked around 5 dishes from the tapas menu (between the 2 of us) and everyone was top notch. My particular favourite was the Peruvian Stew. Seriously this is a must try dish!! Hot, spicy and fruity, it tickled all my tastebuds. There were some minor issues though. If they get these right it’ll turn Pond from a good restaurant to a fantastic restaurant. 1. Service was a bit slow, took about 15mins to get the bill at the end and struggled to get drinks while dining. 2. Card machine wasn’t working, so had to pay by cash (this should of been pointed out staff on arrival, rather than a flimsy bit of paper on toilet door) 3. Peruvian Stew said on menu served with bread, the bread never came. 4. No menu’s on website, all we could find was out of date menu’s on Sugarvine and OnionRing. 5. Alot of their literature said how Vegan/Veggie friendly they are, but Vegan friendly dishes were not marked on menu, so difficult to pick these out. 6. A beer/drinks menu on table would be good too, I heard they have lots of weird and wonderful drinks. But we didn’t know what there was to choose from. This review is not meant to be a criticism, as I will be back time and time again. But if they sort out these issues it could be perfect dining experience. 8/10
Duk-Pond – PrestonJust had the best meal for a long time at the Oyster&Otter. My wife & I have just been to the above and can not praise this place enough. First class in food and staff with very polite owners a young couple. That is going to go far with this team, and Chef we will definitely be going again,& again & again well worth a drive from St Annes. perfect decor and seating with log fire for the cold winter days & nights
Oyster and Otter – BlackburnRecently ate at the China Essence while visiting Carnforth, we were the only customers eating, so the meal was a little lacking in ambiance. We were there at opening time, so later in the evening the restaurant could have filled up. However the quality of food and portion sizes made up for the lack of seated customers. The prices of food and drinks were very reasonable. The restaurant provided us with a complimentary desserts. I would recommend this restaurant. There were lots of people calling in for take-aways.
China Essence Restaurant – CarnforthWe have just returned from a few days away in Kirkby Lonsdale. This was our first visit to the area and so had no idea where to eat. We were recommended by locals to go to Spice Essence. It was one of the best Indian restaurants we have been to, it is situated above a beautiful little courtyard and on a warm evening there are tables outside. Not expensive and the service was excellent. We will definitely go back on our next visit to the area.
Spice Essence – Kirkby LonsdaleSuperb Sunday lunch. Coming from Earby we are used to Jade Palace and Ivy Palace. Decided to try the Beijing as we wanted a run out somewhere but didn't think it would be as good as the other two. We were proved wrong.....lovely setting with the two large fish tanks in the entrance. Food was delicious and portion sizes just right. Staff were lovely . friendly and helpful. We will certainly go back again.
Beijing Restaurant – BurnleyStay away if you like authentic Indian food!! Absolutely nasty!!! Garlic chilli chicken was sweet, nagar chilli wasn't even spicy, shashlik king prawns would've been better from pataks!!! Stick to east z east or bukhara next time..... Excellent service pity about the quality of the food
