The service was good, but the food was disappointing. With access to such great Lancashire meat, dairy and vegetable produce on their doorstep, it is a shame that there wasn't much evidence of it on their menu.

Grey Mare Inn – Blackburni was really disappointed with my meal at le vespa i had the seafood spaghetti i asked what was in it before i ordered it i was told white fish salmon prawns and mussels in a creamy wine and tomato sauce when it came there was no sauce and it only had very small prawns and mussels which was disappointing. no one came and asked how our meal was and when we asked for the bill we paid and left it was as if the staff weren't interested in our custom.
La Vespa – Clitheroeeverytime i visit The Tapas Bar, it is a pleasure! The people are always warm and welcoming and The tapas is the best I've ever had!! The lamb in Rioja main course is a must have!!!
The Tapas Bar – TodmordenJust been with my Wife and daughter to San Marcos. The restaurant excelled it self. A lovely pleasant atmosphere really good service. With top notch Italian food the way it should be cooked . I visit loads of Italian Restaurants and this is far far the best. 10/10
Trattoria San Marco – PrestonA group of 8 had a terrific meal there and we have been since and have recommended Checco's to our friends
Checcos – Prestonbest Indian food ever i eat in my life nice and simple place vbery good in service especially they have dish call LAMB CHOPE SHAHI well what i can say its really lamb and so so good in taste in shot real hidden gem
Raj Durbar – RawtenstallHad an amazing meal last night, everything, the venue, the staff and the atmosphere is always first class, the food was probably the best we've had in a long time so Thank You to the Chef...Tino. This is our favourite restaurant and we have had a few family functions which have always been fantastic with everyone commenting on the friendly staff and excellent food. Thank you
Tinos – Prestonwhat can i say the smiths arms is a place not to be missed the food is always excellent and the warm friendly staff are always very inviting i go at least once a week throughout the year and every time is a good as the last
Smiths Arms – PrestonWOW, went to the Highwayman yesterday 28/08/11 and the food, selection of drinks and attentiveness was spot on. I've not enjoyed a meal out as much in a long time - what a little gem! I had the roast beef Sunday lunch, the rib of beef was sublime and my partner had the duck, not too strong with a lovely garlic potato gratin. Thank You
The Highwayman – Kirkby Lonsdalefantastic pub and very helpful staff. we had a big family gathering here and the staff could not do enough to help and make our visit special. thanks to them all.
The Willows – BlackburnI loved this venue, however my evening was ruined by the management asking the band to leave after only half a set. If you book a band on the weekend of Leeds/Reading and Pride and do nothing in the way of advertising the event then you cannot expect a packed crowd. The night got even worse went the management tried to rip the band off causing an embarrassing confrontation in front of the bar. Like I say, nice venue, shame about the clueless management!!!
Artisan Cafe Bar – RawtenstallGood food, good atmosphere and great hospitality.my wife and i have been a few times and enjoyed it everytime.we would highly recommend it to anyone who likes tasty Caribbean food
Calypso Restaurant – BlackburnI had a lovely meal at the NICE restaurant with a colleague. The risotto was to die for! Would definitely recommend to others.
Nice Bar and Restaurant – LancasterRubbish
Porcinis – PrestonExcellent food and service.good value for money.
Myerscough Hotel – Blackburngood food
Red Lion At Mawdesley – OrmskirkIf you want to try something a bit different this is the place for you. The Eastern European food is very good (have tried a couple of the dishes and they are excellent), the cakes are fabulous and not something you will normally come across. I can recommend the Polish baked cheesecake! There is a good selection of fruit juices and the biggest tea menu you will probably ever see. Its a very relaxing place and the service is excellent.
Mystery Tea House – PrestonAttempted to eat at the Golden Lion today (21/08/11) but after waiting 35 minutes with no starters arriving (after being told the wait was 20 mins) my girlfriend and I had to cancel our order as I had to get to work. As a restaurant manager I cannot understand how it could take so long when there were less than 20 people dining at that time. Furthermore, when inquiring as to how long our food would be I was attended to by a rather blunt barman and received only a token apology from the older lady serving behind the bar. I could have forgiven the wait as just being 'one of those things' if the customer service had been up to scratch but I was made to feel as if everything mention was my fault and if I found my staff dealing with customers in such a way I would be infuriated! If I thought this review would be published I would go into more detail, however as I recall sugarvine does not publish negative reviews (utterly ridiculous) I will leave it at "won't be returning and will never recommend".
