This is by far the best Indian restaurant in Lancashire. The atmosphere is fantastic, the food is delicious and the service is even better. Its the best Indian food I have ever tasted. An experience not to be missed!

Nellie The Elephant – PrestonAbsolutely superb, fantastic food, staff very welcoming, brilliant definitely going again, great for kids as well
Wellsprings Inn Pendle Hill – Clitheroehello. I went to the Blue Elephant in SOUTHPORT for Valentines day. We booked a table for 8pm, so we got there at 755 and we were seated straight away, excellent I though. We were sat near a window however as soon as we were sat the waiter just walked off !! Ok i thought, he must be getting a drinks menu. 20 mins later I had to get up and go to the bar myself !!! We then waited a further 10 mins, we caught a waiters eye who came over and took our order. We wanted some poppadoms first, then starters then our main course.. After about 20 mins we saw the waiter walk over with some poppadoms !! Great we thought, but no, there were for the couple who had just walked in 5 minutes before !!! Ok we thought, ours are on the way... 20 mins later our starters came ( still waiting for the poppadoms !! ) The starters were amazing mind you !!! A waiter came and cleared our empty dishes and we ordered some more drinks... a further 20 mins passed so I decided to go to the bar to chase up our drinks, no order had been placed !!! 10 mins later our main course arrived, which once again was amazing !!!Now I thought when your plates are taken away its time for a coffee or a dessert, maybe not at the Blue Elephant !!! We were left for a further 20 mins just waiting. So we asked for our bill.... 20 mins passed and no bill showed up. Enough was enough, we left our tables and walked to the till area were we asked if we can pay... The bill had our missing poppadoms on it and three rounds off drinks !!! Amazing !!! Naturally we asked for this to be removed, but it seemed the guy wasn't really that bothered. We expressed our dissatisfaction about the service, once again the didn't seem concerned.. We payed our corrected bill and left. Leaving NO TIP !!!!! It really was a shame as the food was amazing, its just a pity we were let down by the service. Ok it was busy being Valentines night, but surely the restaurant should do the basics right !!! Do I recommend it... Well YES, but only as a take away !!!
The Elephant – ChorleyThis is a quality restaurant ! Fantastic Food, 1st class service from all the staff. The main Man Steve is blessed with excellent people skills and is on hand to recommend a dish of many from the menu that suits your own individual pallet. Great value for money.......1st Class ...!!!
Balti Spice – St HelensCalled in on Saturday, and what a joy to finally find somewhere in Preston with a bit of style, we only had a lite lunch and a drink, but was very impressed with the quality of food and service. Will most certainly be calling back in to sample the food. And would highly recommend on first impressions.
Deli Med – Preston8 of us dined here on 14th February. one word - appalling. the food was cold and late, the staff were useless and unhelpful and the place has gone really downhill. The toilets were dirty and the decor shoddy. We were sat for 40 minutes before someone came to take a drinks order. 3 of the party ordered the same main course and all 3 looked totally different. When we complained that the main courses were cold, the staff were rude and unhelpful. For this to be owned by the same family who have the fabulous Italian Orchard, Pinocchio's and San Marco is an embarrassment. I will certainly not be returning. It was a joke.
Angelos – PrestonDeli Med is my fave lunch venue. Delicious, locally sourced ingredients are used in all their dishes, the atmosphere is cosy and the service is very friendly. The smoked chicken & avocado sandwich in pumpkin seed bread is truly the most delicious sandwich I have ever eaten.
Deli Med – PrestonGood produce and above average pub food. Nicely furnished and staff are pleasant. Need more structure front of house and better timing. Would return.
Clog and Billycock – BlackburnThis is a lovely restaurant, with kind and generous staff and a friendly family atmosphere. The food is delicious and varied with a great choice of starters (including tapas), main courses and home-made desserts to die for! Your table is yours for the night and the cocktails are so good, you won't want to give up your table! It was a little more expensive than your average meal (we paid nearly £50 per head; probably because we had 7-8 cocktails each!), but it feels like you've got a bargain. I would absolutely recommend the New Seasons restaurant... in fact, we just decided to back for our anniversary!
Seasons – ChorleyWe ate here after recommendation from a good source. All I can say is that it must have been a different restaurant. The food was pricey and it was poor. Bruschetta that was on door stops, tomato and mozzarella salad with grated cheese! The two main courses were also poor, lamb cutlets which were tough as old boots and a flavourless tangine of chicken. We didn't bother staying for dessert. It is such as shame as the location and the decor were great and it was a missed opportunity.
Seasons – ChorleyWe held our wedding breakfast and evening reception at Truffles on 28th December 2008. It provided for the most romantic afternoon and evening with all our guests enjoying the food (which you can take for granted ! ) and the service. The style of the venue is so romantic and classy that it provides a fantastic backdrop for a special day. In the months leading up to the wedding, James Ford (The owner and chef) worked with us to ensure we got just the day we wanted. We would recommend Truffles to anyone who wants a special, personalised day/night to remember. Thanks James !
Truffles – ChorleyLovely pub with a very traditional feel. Well kept beers and a comprehensive enough wine list. The food was very good over all and the group of us had everything from shrimps, scallops, oysters to Lamb Shank, cutlets and Monkfish. No complaints at all over the quality or quantity, however please, please put some time into training the staff, our waitress said that Oysters were not available as it wasn't the season (February!) she then checked with the chef and they were. I asked for a Sauvignon Blanc to go with my starter and she said is that red or white(?!) To top it off there were empty glasses left strewn about our table as 4 members of staff chatted within view inside the kitchen area. In short good food and drinks - service shocking.
Assheton Arms – Clitheroewe took our staff from the butty shop in adlington on our christmas works do on boatel cruises had a fantastic night.
Boatel Party Cruises – ChorleyWe had an excellent and reasonably priced lunch here recently -friendly and efficient service, and a good selection of choices on the menu. We are going to try the new 'Early Bird' offer soon, which looks to offer even better value.
3 Millstones Inn – ClitheroeBest Indian around, used to know this as the rising bridge pub, and wow what a turn around very nice job transforming this inside and the staff are all very attentive throughout the night, and now they offer a take-away delivery service too. spot on guys!!!
Spice Room – AccringtonI have been coming here since i was 4 years old with my parents and i now visit with my own family 25 years on, best italian around the staff are always the same staff and the food service and atmosphere are always 2nd to none. Hopefully in years to come the next generation of my family will be here with there family.
Francos – AccringtonWe discovered Deli Med after moving to the surrounding area last summer and won't go anywhere else when in the City. The staff are always delightful and the food is wonderful and fresh. As a true coffee lover, it's a real find and our children rave about the wonderful Spanish hot chocolate. I love the 'taste table' which has something different every day and the continental feel of the cafe makes it a good all round experience. Despite the credit crunch, going to Deli Med is still my twice weekly pleasure.
Deli Med – PrestonFeb 2009 - Upon arrival the bar was full of empty/dirty/used glasses from the night before. No one was in a rush to move them either, just serve around them. When we eventually discovered the function room, (as no-staff were in the least bit interested to show us where we had to go?)we were met with a filthy carpet, filthy dusty cutlery, dirty glasses, and stained tablecloths! not sure when the carpet had last seen a vacuum!!! The food was absolutely terrible, stone cold, awful, (if you like pickles, this is the place for you, I have never seen so many!!!)filthy cutlery, a splash of wine served with the meal, (when asked for more, "we have to make sure there is enough for everyone else" a waitress remarked, then when the dessert arrived (20 minutes waiting between courses) was served, over 40 people remarked how horrible, cold and unappetising this was, not very helpful, terrible, terrible terrible, Haighton Manor we feel didn't provide, excellent service or value for money, the food was a disaster!!! what should of been a great day out. This used to be a fabulous Hotel for any function, however we shall not be visiting again, if you are contemplating holding a function, please visit on a few occassions, when one is on and ask the people if they're impressed!!!
