The food is really good and everyone is really friendly! There is no lack of the same quality for take-away meals either... I recommend the Masala absolutely!

This restaurant is simply AMAZING! I have been coming here since I was young with my grandparents and now me and my boyfriend go at least once every 2 months. I have tried various other Chinese restaurants around the area but none can compare. I highly recommend eating here to anybody. Also look out for the Chinese New Year festivities they hold- bound to blow you away!

Bashall Barn has had an amazing extension. The new restaurant is spacious and contemporary in stunning rural surroundings. Whilst dining you can watch the cows being milked in the attached barn, don't worry you cant smell them. I didn't get chance to eat but i definitely will next time.

I eat here on a regular basis, the food is fantastic and reasonably priced! My partner and I normally eat here at lunch time or at happy hour in the evening at 5.30 till 6.30 so even with a starter each, our bill is never more than £25.00. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, and food is prepared quickly, in fact I have never waited longer than 20 minutes for a meal here. Their onion and chilli garlic bread is the best I have ever had - and always comes piping hot. Deserts are also great, especially the Alabama soft rock chocolate fudge cake! I would definitely recommend P&P's to anyone, even those not too keen on Italian dishes as they prepare a number of English meals also.

Parmesan And Pepper – Chorley

Has to be THE best Indian takeaway ever - have tried others but always come back to these guys - and have done for 5 years now - every curry tastes and looks different but always delicious - none of this one sauce fits all for them! Try them and you will not be looking elsewhere....

Shahi Tandoori – Preston

The Spice Lounge is a fantastic restaurant. The staff are extremely professional and welcoming. The food is of the highest quality and isn't too expensive. Would recommend the Murghi Kali Mirch for a hot(ish) curry.

Now I don't normally write bad reviews for restaurants, especially ones that are right on my doorstep but................. I don't know who's writing these comments which give excellent reviews to a very ordinary restaurant but they mustn't get out much! I've visited The Railway@Euxton about 4 times since it opened and not once has it been a particularly enjoyable experience. The first time I visited, it had only been only several weeks but there's not excuse for food being brought to the table virtually cold and the Bernaise sauce that I order to accompany my sirloin steak had the consistency of water. On the second visit (Grandma's birthday) a rowdy argument broke out on a table close to where we were sitting. The argument continued for several minutes and the management failed to do anything about it. On the third visit (a friends birthday) We waited well over an hour for our starters to arrive after being seated. I ordered a blackpudding starter which came to the table very nearly cold. The waiter took it back to the chef and then returned with the same plate with the reply 'the chef said its meant to be like that'. I can't think of anything I'd less like to do than eat cold blood! My girlfriend sent her lamb main course back twice because it was raw (not rare) in the middle. On the 4th visit the waitress took our order, then returned to inform us that they'd sold out of both meals we chose. So we changed the order. The waitress returned because she forgot to ask how my girlfriend would like her tuna cooking, then returned again to tell her that the tuna was also sold out! After waiting for over an hour for our starters, the main courses where brought to the table! We'd both had had enough at this point, so we left without eating. After complaining to the management, they very kindly invited us back for a complimentary meal. Although the night went very smoothly (because the owner personally took care of us) the standard of cuisine just isn't good. The chef can write a good menu but he sure as hell can't cook one! This restaurant is trying to be something that its not capable of being. With a similar menu and prices as The Clog & Billycock in Pleasington this is a far better option.

You cannot go wrong with Checcos. The food and atmosphere are great in a nice location in the Ribble Valley. For a starter try the meatballs in tomato and garlic sauce served with crusty bread to "dunk".

Beware of fake reviews. We went to the restaurant after reading the review. First issue, the restaurant was design with too much white, it's steal, cold and doesn't give out the sense of luxury as it tried to make people to believe. The place was quiet, the food potion was small and tasted average. The location is heart of 'Student' Village, hence you just don't feel safe to leave your car nearby at night. This feels to be a very amateur attempt, no doubt we may see this restaurant feature soon in Kitchen Nightmare

We visited this restaurant on 26 may 2009 , it was wonderful , well presented and reasonable. they catered for all your needs , i fancied scallops but it wasn't on the menu , but the chef had some fresh ones and put me a starter together with saffron and mash,it was lovely, the fillet was 28 days hung so it was lovely and pink but no blood. We do lots of reviews for various people and visit many restaurants and this is without doubt up there with the best ,especially in Preston (maybe the best). We both had an enjoyable evening and will be visiting again.

Visited midweek lunchtime - definitely worth a try if you are in the area, pleasant service, nice food - we had asparagus fondue, cauliflower in a spicy batter, fish pie and ploughmans - the only downside really was the atmosphere in the place (there didn't really seem to be any) D&A

Clog and Billycock – Blackburn

Had a great time here , the food was outstanding and different and the staff genuinely want you to have a good time , nothing is too much trouble and they make you feel like a mate. When i go for a meal I want to feel like I am on holiday and I want to eat something that I wouldn't have thought of cooking myself and that is exactly what you get here. Price was fine but I racked the bill up by trying loads of different cocktails, paid for it in the morning too!

Seasons – Chorley

We called in one Sunday lunch time on the off chance of a table as the pub where we had intended eating was closed for a private function - and we were really glad that we did. We got the last table I think, and can appreciate why it was so busy - I had a crab salad starter and my partner the scallops, followed by steak (for him) and roast beef (for me). All were excellently cooked and presented and good value for money. One small gripe - the menus were a little dog eared and some of the cutlery needed a polish, but nothing to stop us going back.

Duke of York – Clitheroe

This is a nice, pretty pub. A bit confusing when you go in. You need to ask at the bar, who will then instruct a waitress to take you to a table. We were pretty lost at first, and the waiters totally ignored us. It was quite intimidating. Once in the restaurant the service is friendly. The food was not very good. I suppose being a local, I am spoilt by the wealth of 'foodie' pubs in the area. But I was expecting a much better quality of food from reviews I had read. Six of us ate. I had the steak sandwich, which is supposed to be their speciality. The whole thing tasted a bit cheap to be honest. The bread, was flavourless and wet, as a big pile of boiled mushrooms had been thrown on. (Why not fried, why not onions?) The steak itself was fatty, cheap and overcooked. It is a family friendly place, full of happy kids. A pretty place, and not expensive. Not a place for someone who likes to eat well

The 'fishes' is the nearest restaurant to my house. I have been going here for years, as well as the other Nigel Haworth pubs (they are pretty much all the same). The food is good, but by no means the best thereabouts. It does coast on reputation, and there are plenty of places nearby that have surpassed it in the last few years. The log fire is pretty, but don't sit next to it, even in Winter. It roars. Just thought I should warn people about the bar. The guy before mentioned his surprise that the lemonade came out of a bottle. It is always this way. There is no soft drinks machine, and very little variety in their bottled drinks, which are all tiny and overpriced. There is also a lack of decent cask ale. If you are going for a bar experience, you would be much better at the 'Aspinall arms' which is literally around the corner, and does pretty good food too. Foodwise, I have been through the entire menu. It's all good, but if you want a real food 'experience', try the 'red pump' at bashiell.

The food here is good and you get plenty of it. The service is absolutely awful. I've been several times over the past few months- it is right near where I work. I am not a particularly picky person when it comes to service, but every time I go it is pretty bad. Here is an Example - Last time I went, the young boy who served did not write the order down. When I remarked on this, he said he did not need to. Fine. I asked for the coffees to come with the meal, he said 'yes, yes', and then brought them straight away. I asked for no mayo on a sandwich. It came with mayo. Chips where ordered, they never came. The bill was later asked for from a different server with an ipod in. He said he would bring it, ten minutes later, he had not. This is not the worst service that I have had here. It's a pity. The food is good, and it is all very pretty, but always quite stressful.

Fantastic food, superb service, and a great 'all you can eat ' offer, makes La Salsa my favourite place to eat. The fish in batter tapas is second to none, my wife's favourite is the gambas (king prawn in batter) A superb menu choice and a pretty decent pint of cruzcampo make it a thoroughly enjoyable eating out experience.

Saints Until I Die

The best in St Helens! Certainly not the biggest, and probably not the fanciest. But the food is great. Charlie Chan is a top man and is always happy to help with any problems.
