Great little place, tucked away in Bolton centre. The food is fantastic and great value. The place has a real authentic feel about it too. We had an excellent meal and will certainly be going back !

La Salsa – DarwenMy husband and I had the good fortune to visit Truffles for the 'Indian Gourmet Evening' on 28th March 2008. As long time and devoted customers of this restaurant it was hard to image that anything could surpass the usual excellenct standard of fare and service provided by James and his staff. My husband and I are great lovers of Indian spiced food, however, from the first, to the last course, we were given a taste of India that bears no relation to the usual meals served in traditional restaurants. The combination of subtle spices (the Sea Bass in Coconut & Coriander being a prime example), were a delight. We cannot fault the evening at all and, although we will be away on holiday for the French Gourmet evening we will certainly be booking for the Thai Goumet meal. If it in any way achieves the standard of the Indian experience we shall come away with a new respect for the cuisine of Thailand. Please try this restaurant. I can promise that you will not be disappointed. Yvonne & Tony G
Truffles – ChorleyThe Whittakers Arms is a Family run pub which is warm and friendly atmosphere if your a regular customer or a new customer. The food is fantastic, homemade honest fayre, made to order. Everytime I have eaten there the service as been great the staff can't do enough for you and the food as been hot and thoroughly enjoyable. Well worth a visit!!!!
Whitakers Arms – Accrington12 noon Thursday 6th March 2008 found us on the Car Park of this lovely place which used to be a 'watering-hole' for my wife and me in our 1960's courting years. 12.03pm found us in the establishment, warmly welcomed and left to find our own table for two by a lovely fire. A relaxed drink whilst ordering our meal was complemented by the pleasant personal service. We were lucky. At 12.30pm, most all of the tables were in use and, this isn't a small place. Fish and Chips was the order of the day for us and lovely they were. We were more than satisfied with our service and meal and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys good local 'fayre'. As for the 'fish un chips' this could only be equalled by the Ship Hotel at Elswick on the Fylde and the Greyhound at Halton near Lancaster. Michael T. Loose
The Highwayman – Kirkby LonsdaleFor lovers of fine wine and food, Mitton Hall is among the best. The whole place exudes a certain quirkiness from the furnishings to the personnel who are kissed hello and goodbye, thanked by the manager (rare!) and all immaculately presented. Forget the formality visit yourself and indulge, wonderful.
Mitton Hall – ClitheroeEccentricity at it's best! Visiting for dinner on Saturday evening we were welcomed by what appeared to be the Lady of the Manor and entertained by what must be the Lord. There is a chic style to the service at Mitton and this is matched by the food and drink. The Lady explained any dish we inquired about and the Lord waxed lyrical about our wine choices. We had a selection of Tapas as starters and robust main courses from the Brasserie menu including melt-in-the-mouth steak and despite a full brasserie and bar we didn't wait for anything including jokes! Mitton hall is something very special be it the decor, the food or the Lady Melanie and her partner Lord Andrew. Try it you will not be disappointed.
Mitton Hall – ClitheroeVery pleasant surroundings in a lovely area food exceptional staff very pleasant children made very welcome been many times well worth a visit!
Spice Lounge – BlackburnI'd been meaning to try this place for a while because of it's reputation, but I'm not sure it's completely well founded. Don't get me wrong, it's nice, perhaps a bit pricey on some things for the quality (the £17 steak wasn't the best). The atmosphere is nice although a little touristy, the food all sounded nice but we found it to be overly salty. Also they don't serve drinks to your table so you have to keep traipsing back up to the bar throughout your meal. The ribs with devilled peas are recommended.
The Three Fishes – ClitheroeGreat pizza, but very loud once it fills up on a weekend.
Tinos – PrestonThe best in the business the food was brilliant the atmosphere was very comfortable and keep up the good work .pete
Balti House – BlackburnVisited on March 17th for my birthday meal with my wife. It is very well furnished and has a nice lounge area by the bar as you walk in so you can relax before your meal. We were met courteously and shown to one of a number of tables and ours was in a horseshoe shape and the seats extremely comfortable to sit on. It has an extensive menu with all that you'd expect with some nice specials as well. we both started with Shish kebabs and both had chicken korai for main. They were both excellent with the korai being one of the best I've ever had. They were decent portions and my wife asked for part of her meal to take away which they were more than happy to do for us. My wife finished with a floater coffee and we then retired to near the bar area where we relaxed on the leather sofas. We had a few more drinks and left after an hour or so. The whole time we were there the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming and made it a lovely night. I highly recommend and will hopefully be a regular of this restaurant. Prices around £4 for starter and £7-£12 for main. Very good value and lovely food.
The Elephant – ChorleyWent to bukara restaurant when it first opened and didn't really rate it small portions and service not to clever, then went recently again given every body deserves a second try teething probs ect, well if you have never been to a halal restaurant give it a try these guys have stepped up to 2008 standards leaving your usual curry houses with there flock wall paper typical tasteless curries with no genuine spices for those who know there apni (indian)curries.. well done guys very modern Indian cuisine along with exceptional service.
Bukhara – PrestonReally disappointing - the worst Indian meal we have ever tasted. We had two main courses, rice and side dish and everything tasted the same - of nothing! As if the chef had a pot of sauce - gravy with some chilli added - and he used that for all the dishes. No spices, no flavour. Very disappointing as the restaurant was lovely, the service fine.
Dilshad Halal Tandoori Restaurants – PrestonWOW - amazing food, lovely staff who made us feel really welcome and great size portions. We landed on this pub by accident looking for a lunchtime snack and will now happily make a 40 minute journey from Manchester back to The Railway to show it off to friends and family. Please don't change - perfect as it is.
The Railway Tavern Euxton – Chorley29th march 2008 visited early evening, when not too busy. good food and great location, but spoilt by over attentive and fussy staff. requested a table for two, was shown a table near the area where food was served from, so asked for one away from this area, was told tables where booked, the place was empty at 6.30!! the food was delicious, but to be asked 6 times by staff if everything was ok, gets a bit irritating, let the food speak for itself.. probably wont return as we felt pressured into rushing the meal, with over zealous hovering staff.
Wellsprings Inn Pendle Hill – ClitheroePositives: Very cheap; family friendly; welcomes large, noisy parties Negatives: Extremely poor service; slightly below average food; incredibly crampt; very noisy; receive dishes that you did not order; staff do not ask how everything is; 45 minute wait for the bill; staff remove plates before they have been finished with; staff failed to bring dessert menu
Verdes Restaurant – ChorleyExcellent and incredibly cheap
The Elephant – ChorleyGreat atmosphere, tasteful interior, super choice of high quality meals, very reasonably priced, attentive service. Wonderful
