Not recommended! I've been three times all for birthday or Christmas do's and it has failed to impress on every occasion. It has THE least inspiring menu in Preston and all of the food is bland and tasteless, apart from the pizzas which are soaked in grease! The price isn't even reasonable. The only thing they scored well on was a large slice of cake for the person celebrating their birthday. There are a hundred better places to go, Totto's can be skipped!

I eat here a lot, mainly at lunchtime as they do a terrific £3.95 for pasta/pizza. I have never had a bad experience and the host is a fantastic character and service is always pleasant and efficient. The ambience is lovely too.

I was really lucky to find the Red Pump Inn when living in the area Mon-Fri for work and lodged there for about 4 months. The hosts and the staff made me more welcome than I have ever felt in any hotel. The food was consistently wonderful with only one problem. Ashley's steaks have left me thoroughly dissatisfied with all other offerings I have tried anywhere, even at more than double the price in so called classy establishments. I am a great fan of food travelling extensively on business and do not exaggerate when I say it is my most favourite hotel and restaurant in the whole world! It is that one in a million perfect blend of warm welcome, great atmosphere and wonderful food that is so hard to find these days. And take it from one who knows, it is always that way, as I experienced it every day for months. I hope my wife never reads this but I never wanted to go home to "normal" food and always looked forward to coming back to my second home every Monday.

My husband and I are have been using this restaurant for a few years now. We adore the warm bread and refills are provided with a smile. My husband is a meat and three veg type man but we always go back for our favourite of Moussaka and shish kebab. Both are served with rice cooked the proper way and could be a meal in itself. The salads are particularly fresh and crispy. The house white wine is perfectly palatable. The service is faultless and the sign of a good waiter is when he always remembers your favourite drinks order. We have taken friends and family here-parking is easy just around the corner, and they too, have enjoyed the simple but well cooked food. We can thoroughly recommend Tottos!.

Hi, i'm a Chinese student at Uclan. I have been to Totto's restaurant with my friend on this evening. That is my first time come to there. There is very welcome, and staff and boss both are friendly and passionate. I was ordered main food, which is MUSAKKA, my friend was ordered KLEFTICO. It's very fantastic. My friend and i also ordered Gamborohi after main food, which include king prawn, sausage and tomato. The food price of this restaurant is not expensive, moreover which has got 10% for students. Everything is fine. whatever taste, service or others. My friend and i am satisfactory. Besides, i like the fitment.

A real gem in the crown of what Morecambe should be, a shining light. Simply delightful. Too many complaints flying around that the service is not good, but i wish these egg heads that write these reviews would define what they mean by service. Does anyone really know what they mean by service. The service was amazing, we were looked after, yes things weren't rushed, if you want rushed food go to McDonald's. Some people really are idiots, the staff allow you to enjoy your time at the Midland. If you order a bottle of wine why should it appear straight away. It should be carefully selected to ensure the right bottle is brought to you. If you order a beer it isn't magic-ed up. The staff pay attention to detail, they are passionate about what they do. They may be young but they make the experience fun, as they all know about what they are selling. Can you think that maybe if they rushed you the food would be shocking and the service would then be awful and you would feel like you were being pushed out very quickly for the next herd to come in. No its hard to get a table because they allow you to take your time. They go the whole hog to deliver the standards set. It was good to see the tall chap wandering round chatting to guests and the restaurant manager Victoria

We are regular visitors to Amelies but not as regular as our friends the Gibbons/Dunn. We go every opportunity when we have no other commitment but our friends say as they always eat out just one night a week they see no reason to even try anywhere else as the food is excellent, the atmosphere is extremely friendly and Annamarie is very accommodating and nothing is too much trouble. It is excellent value for money and by far the best restaurant in our opinion within a 20 mile radius. We shall be going again very soon with some of our other friends whom we wish to introduce to Amelies. Christine Moorhouse

Have made 3 visits to the Parkers Arms and found the food and service very good-excellent until the last visit. I ordered soup which was good, salad which consist of half an iceberg covered in oil, a plate full of bread (I do not especially like bread), some ham and boiled egg which appeared more like a poached egg - with the yolk running all over the rest of my food. This was not impressive. When I asked for a replacement egg i.e. cooked fully, I was told 'All our eggs are soft boiled'. My partner ordered a Bowland burger - the meal was skinny and half way through realised that it was not cooked in the middle. The meal was very expensive for what it was and we will not be returning. iI suggest to keep customers, that the owner be open to customer suggestions/evaluations.

Four of us had lunch at the Duke of York on Tuesday 23rd September 2008 and we all had the Pork Belly. We agreed it was excellent. Nicely served and with good vegetables and ales to go with it. I don't know what else they can do but if the Pork Belly was typical, it's worth trying.

3 of us went to The Clog last night and it was superb. It is really hard these days to find a gastro pub/restaurant that gets everything right, but I am pleased to say this has been done by the owners of RVI. The wine menu is superb and caters for every pallet, I do recommend the Chablis (at £29 a bottle it is a bit steep considering it is not a premier cru but still enjoyable). On the food aspect, we really could not decide what to have as the choice was excellent. We decided to go straight to main course and save room for dessert (and we where right to do so as the portion sizes where very good !) We had lobster and partridge from the specials and Goosnargh chicken. We did have to wait a while for this but presume this was because of the lobster (the delay was very well handled by the staff and we were kept informed of the wait at all times). This food was well worth the wait though. We could not fault a single thing about any of the meals. For dessert we had blackberry crumble (off the specials), jam roly poly and choclate and orange pudding and yet again we where not disappointed. Never before have I had a crumble in a restaurant that was cooked just like my Mumm used to! It was evident all through the meal that this food is prepared and cooked in house by excellent chefs (not bought in pre cooked like so many places). The decor and layout are perfect for any occasion, service, staff and atmosphere was very good. We were lucky when we arrived and got a table straight away but some friends have advised of 20 - 30 minutes wait for a table. Bookings are only taken on tables of 6 and over. On the whole this was an excellent night and as we were so torn between what to choose on the menu I am sure it will not be long before we return and try something else!

My husband, 5 year old son and I had lunch here this Sunday. Absolutely stunning. Excellent friendly service, sublime food, lovely surroundings. The beef stew and dumplings my husband had was excellent and full of flavour. I had the ham hock with lancashire cheese mash and mustard sauce - I can honestly say each mouthful was better than the last. It was amazing!!! Our son had the cheese and tomato tart from the children's menu - he loved it. The children's menu is far better than your average pub. Treating children like small adults with good appetites and a taste for interesting food. Great value too!! The only disappointment was that we did not have time to stay for pudding - I was particularly looking forward to the warm frangipan - oh well maybe next time!! We'll most definitely be back.

Visited the New Continental for Sunday lunch. It had been featured the night before in the LEP. We arrived about 1.40 to find the pub quite busy with a few remaining tables. The pubs new decor is very pleasing and modern. We got our drinks at the bar and found a table. There seemed to be only 3 people waiting on and two behind the bar. It took about 10 mins for someone to come to our table after I had been back to the bar to enquire if we placed orders there but was told someone would come to us. After some time a waiter took our order of the chicken in Garstang blue cheese sauce for my husband and I ordered the lamb cutlets on hotpot potatoes. 25 minutes later the waiter came over and apologised for the delay due to some catastrophe in the kitchen and said it wouldn't be long. Another 25 minutes later we finally got our meals and I cheekily asked for free sweets because of the 50 minute delay, and to be fair the waiter agreed. My husband declared his chicken, which came with mash, very good. However, my hotpot potatoes were decidedly on the tepid side and the lamb cutlets had been fried separately as opposed to being done with the potatoes, which personally I would have preferred. Both dishes would have been better with included veg but a dish of mixed veg would have been an extra £2.50. I dared not have my meal returned to the kitchen for fear of having to wait another 20 minutes for it to be heated up! I did point this out to the waiter when he returned for our plates though. Having ordered our free sweets, we actually got those about 15 mins later. Hubby had the strawberry baked cheesecake which he enjoyed but said was a little heavy and I had the chocolate brownie which was fab but I could have done with a little pot of the chocolate sauce which was only drizzled around the plate, as this was gorgeous - a really scrummy sweet and a must for chocolate lovers! The bill came to £24.70 which included 2 pints of fosters and a half of the strawberry draught beer which was quite expensive at £2.10 for half, but was very nice for a change. We will return to the New Conti and hopefully wont have to wait as long for our meals!

We enjoyed a very good meal in beautiful surroundings at Mitton Hall. The only negative was that the food was lukewarm. However we did decide not to sit in the restaurant which probably created the problem. Well worth a visit. I am particularly looking forward to returning on a icy winters day to enjoy the huge roaring fires!
