I have been to this pub several times, and I have always found the staff friendly and welcoming and the food to be excellent.

Calfs Head – ClitheroeThe best restaurant since 1977 it was in the other side of the road at number 16 the best pasta and pizzas of Lancashire, it made the history of the Italian food in Lancashire, and also it as been at school for all the Italians wich now have the restaurants in many towns in Lancashire .
Angelos – PrestonWe visited, the well oiled machine that is usually Mitton Hall to find a couple of major parts of the engine missing. The food was as always superb, the service was professional, but lacking the Lord and Lady (one at a wedding, one with her son) seemed to detract from our previous experience's. There wasn't the same calm and cool and sophistication as we now expect from such a venue. Hopefully it was a one off...
Mitton Hall – ClitheroeMy boyfriend and I went to this restaurant after so many of our friends recommended it and while the food was excellent, we left disappointed because of the service. We booked a table for 8:00 on a Friday night and arrived at 10 to 8. As soon as we stepped foot into the bar/waiting area we were greeted by plenty of peculiar looks as we were the only 19/20-year-olds in the restaurant. We were kept waiting for about 45 minutes while there were at least 10 empty tables behind us and the hostess stood behind the bar chatting animatedly to an older couple. Only when the chef (who actually served us our drinks & hor h'oeuvres earlier) came back of the kitchen and had a very loud word with the hostess did she take our order and lead us to our table. Once at the table, my boyfriend pointed out that there was still cling film on our bread basket and even after the hostess came over with our drinks, the crumpled cling film was still left on the table. The food was beautiful but we couldn't help but feel that we'd been discriminated upon because of our age. On our way out, we passed those still empty tables and the hostess who was once again disregarded our presence. Needless to say, we will not be returning.
Truffles – ChorleyI spent a brilliant night here with friends. The staff were lovely, very helpful and the food was the best. I only managed to have one cocktail which was amazing but from the rest of my friends comments, so were all the others!! I would definitely come back here, even though I live in Manchester, it was that good!!
Seasons – Chorleyfantastic food and lush cocktails, great atmosphere and the staff where extremely hospitable. Definitely going back for more.
Seasons – ChorleyMy husband and I have been regular diners at the Spread Eagle for over 11 years now and have found nowhere that comes anywhere near it's standard. The food is always first class and the staff are always so pleasant and respectful, which means a lot these days! We really do enjoy coming and recommend The Spread Eagle to all our friends.
Spread Eagle – ClitheroeWe ate in this restaurant today and I can honestly say it is the worse meal we have ever had. I ordered an 'oven baked' potato and it had never seen an oven in its life other than a microwave one. It also cost £5.95 that was over the top I thought My husband had steak pie which was dry and the mash had lumps in it and the plate was swimming in cheap gravy The waitresses were surly and never asked if anything was OK. We often use Sugarvine and they had a glowing Sugarvine review in the window. This review was not dated so I presume it was from years ago. A very bad experience that will certainly not be repeated by us! The whole lunch also cost over £15 that was money thrown away in our opinion.
Cariad Coffee House and Tearoom – Kirkby LonsdaleA gang of of visited this new baby of duks last week end it was amazing, the standards are just as high, and it was packed out standing room only at the bar, the food delicious, service impeccable, the choice of new drinks like whistling duck and duck pond brilliant. I had the most juicy fillet steak with a garlic sauce my friend had a some weird dish of stewy stuff, that chef made up for him, it shouldn't have tasted good, but it was out of this world, it had fruit and meat together --odd, Ramsey would have a fit, must be nice to be sure you can make anything taste so good and not be afraid to break the mold, the prices are also very good value our bill only came to £28.00 each and we had really nice wine and a couple of desserts between us, one was a large metal bucket yes bucket of summer berries dusted with icing sugar and served with chocolate dip! FOOD Heaven. You must visit you will not be disappointed, good luck duk, you have two fab places, by the way love the name POND, only got it after a few bottles of wine! ha ha We'll be back soon so watch out were coming for a lazy afternoon on the sofas and going to work our way through the menu
Duk-Pond – PrestonWicked eatery. Great write up by Frank Turner from the M.E.N. They have opened up two more venues, one at the new Ski resort at the Chill Factore Manchester and also Marsden Road, Deansgate Bolton. Excellent 2nd review by M.E.N again! and june edition of Lancashire Magazine. 21st century Modern Indian Cuisine!
Vedas – TodmordenAs one of a group of seven ladies who had lunch at Mitton Hall on Thursday 26th June i felt I must mention how wonderful the new look is. We were welcomed with freshly prepared Pimms and greeted like old friends. Our waitress Melanie was absolutely fantastic and our blue haired host Andy was wonderful. We had a selection from the different menu's and after lunch our host even provided a guided tour of the facilities. We will be back and bringing our husband's. Many Thanks Lucy
Mitton Hall – ClitheroeCafe Artisan has a lovely relaxed atmosphere, great coffee and tasty well priced selection of sandwiches, paninis, and larger meals. Its also kid friendly, with a good healthy choice of sandwiches & salad (not listed on the menu) and toys/books to keep them occupied.
Artisan Cafe Bar – RawtenstallI've been to this restaurant many times. The food and service is excellent. All the items on the menu are numbered so its easy to keep track of what you've order - even better take a small post it pad with you and write down each item ordered.
La Salsa – DarwenVery nice food indeed. However the restaurant was smokey, the service was slow, becoming inattentive and the live music was awful. Once again another disappointing Chorley restaurant that is overpriced and overrated!
Seasons – Chorleynot been to this one, visited their new one in BOLTON, out of this world......best restaurant i've been to.
Vedas – TodmordenIf you pay the full prices in this restaurant, you would probably say , it's a bit pricey but the food and service were excellent. Go any night between 5 and 7 ( except Saturday ) and get 2-for-1 and you will be absolutely amazed. This is the best food we have had in a long long time. Also, as a bonus... 2 for 1 cocktails on Thursdays and Sundays !
Seasons – ChorleyI'be been going to this pub for their Sunday Lunch for the last year since reading the reviews on here. However, in that time, the service, staff friendliness and food standards have all slipped. We were 2 hours on Sunday for a main/dessert and the waitress was pretty rude to us because we were 10 minutes late for our reservation (even though the place was empty). The Sunday Lunch has reduced in size and increased in price. Won't be back for a while.
Farmers Arms – OrmskirkWe had the most delicious tapas here last night (Sunday). It was very quiet and only one other couple dined as we were there. We had pitta bread with 4 delicious dips, huge prawns in garlic (the best!) patatas bravas, fillet steak strips and chicken strips with african spices and scallops done in chilli and garlic. With a bottle of house wine and pre dinner drinks ofa pint of peroni and a glass of wine and soda, the bill came to £54.06, which we thought was excellent value. Having dined at their sister restaurant DUK in preston several times, we knew we would be getting quality food and they didnt disappoint. We shall certainly be returning to POND as soon as possible and highly recommend this restaurant.
