We recently visited the Bangla Fusion as part of our Curry Tour of the North West, it hasn`t changed much in 9 months except to say that they have become over fussy and the portions are more meager than we remember.. The food was good and yes, as the driver of the party I was surprised at having to pay for water. Perhaps the "Halo" is slipping a bit.

How on earth do you comment on culinary perfection. This restaurant has it all. Friendliness, warmth of atmosphere, wonderful service and food fit to grace anyone? platter. Thank you to The Sultan What else can one say?

Fantastic authentic Italian dining experience. The only complaint was that I couldn't have everything on the menu. The staff are friendly and make excellent suggestions regarding menu choices and suitable wine. I can't wait to go back!

Quattro’s – Ormskirk

The food here is exquisite! we visited West Tower for a special occasion & i can honestly say we couldn't of chosen a better place. the staff are so attentive without being intrusive, & the atmosphere is one of understated elegance. will definatley be back soon!

I enjoyed a lovely coffee in the al fresco area of Maxwells watching the world go by. It's an exciting addition to Clitheroe which didnt have any sophisticated and contempory venues before.

Maxwells Cafe Wine Bar – Clitheroe
the two of us!!

Fantastic!! The best food served to us for a long time, the food waitresses/waiters were very good also. Two things let it down, nowhere to sit really when you are having a drink whilst waiting for your table and the bar staff, who while not particularly busy pretended that they were, which meant you had to wait longer than you should to be served,if they sorted these little things out,it would be one of the best places in lancashire, even though it is'nt far off being so now. We will definitely be back soon though!!

The Three Fishes – Clitheroe
The two of us!!

We have been here a few times and enjoyed it thus far. The food is all fresh local produce and very good. it's quite small but very cosy, olde worlde with log fire and the owners are welcoming. Only thing negative would be that the menu has never changed from the first time we went. If you are ever out that way give it a try!

Ye Horns Inn – Preston

The atmosphere here is lovely but I find the food a little average. Why do they not have some more modern options on the menu as well as traditional vegetarian favourites? The food is vegetarian yes but the inspiration behind it is circa 1960. A particular low point being the cardboard style flan pastry. The interior is disastrous, more nursery than cafe but you can't knock the people and service. Or the cakes and the whale tail salad. Not bad overall, but let's just hope it doesn't get any competition.

Whale Tail Vegetarian Cafe – Lancaster
Trust me, I'm a Critic - I ALWAYS tell it like it is!

Yum, yum, yum! This place is fantastic but unfortunately a little difficult to get to sans car which is a shame because the wine list is excellent. The only other negative comment is that the food may be too heavy for some, my advice would be to pack the indigestion tabs and chow down because it really does taste as good as everyone says it does. The interior and atmosphere is also special in a comfortable sort of a way, especially cosy on a winter's eve.

Bay Horse Inn – Lancaster

We took a short break in the area and stopped over at this exquisite hotel and enjoyed the luxurious surroundings, located in a small village of Darwen. We were greeted with a smile and were the service was impeccable throughout our stay. The restaurant was furnished as though the queen was coming to visit. And the food gave the impression that we were their royal guests. I had the soup of the day, today being tomato and basil. My partner had a selection of melons with a champagne sorbet. Both dishes were to die for; they really got us in the mood for taste sensation. For the main course we both decided to have the lamb, with hot pot potatoes, spinach and onions, garnished with a range of veg. We both agreed that we have never before eaten lamb as tasty as this, the meal as a whole didn? disappoint for one minuet, and every mouthful left us wanting that bit more. We decided not to have any desert, as we couldn? eat another drop. Although over-heard that the homemade ice cream was second to none. Overall an amazing dining experience that was only dampened on by cheesy tunes from the wedding reception next door. Were not the type to spend a great deal on a meal, but in this case you pay for what you get. We both strongly recommend that even if you don? take up their luxurious accommodation that you get yourself booked in the restaurant and treat yourselves the finest British cuisine the northwest has to offer. 10/10

Springbank Manor – Darwen

I found this wonderful establishment some years ago and don? (to my shame) visit it very often. However, this does maintain the element of complete enjoyment on each and every visit and it is a bi- annual confirmation of just how good this restaurant is. Can the good get better? In this case I? have to say yes as The Sultan once again shines through as the sparkling example of culinary excellence that others may follow, but not surpass.

Quattro? is an excellent Italian restaurant with a Sardinian flavour. We knew it existed, but the best recommendation we had was from a waiter in an excellent restaurant called La Rocca in Baia Sardegna near Porto Cuervo who had worked there. It is a genuinely Italian restaurant, too; many so-called Italian restaurants over here simply serve an Italian menu and pay mere lip service to the quality of the dishes. Quattro? serve the quality of food you would expect in a good local restaurant in Italy. There are several reasons for this; ingredients are high quality, but also the chef's are Italian and know what they are doing. Meat and fish were both fresh and good quality. Choices of dishes were good. Starters and pasta are tasty, the Malloredus (with Sargegnan cured wild boar sausage) was top notch, and the sauce with the prawns was wonderful. There is a great selection of main courses (secondi platti); never trust an Italian menu that doesn't serve veal - and Quattro? two veal dishes are excellent, I'd recommend the saltimbocca very highly. There was a great selection of seafood and steak dishes too. Portions are a good size, cheaper restaurants fill you up with poor-quality pasta and skimp on the more expensive ingredients. Not so here, there are plenty of both. Too much in fact; in Italy you'd have a starter, then a pasta course and a meat or fish course plus of course a dessert. We couldn't have managed that here! The wine list has a good selection of quality wines; having visited Sardegna we know our way round a good wine list. We chose torbatta which is a very nice but little known white. There was a nice selection of reds too; we'll sample the DOC Cannonau next time. The grappa was the excellent brown Nardini, definitely a sign they are selective in what they give to customers. It is a very friendly place; they make you feel special, even if it's your first time. Children are welcomed - always a good sign. My only regret is that they didn't serve Porceddu (Sardegnan roast suckling pig) or serve the excellent Terra Brune red wine. It's hard to find a good restaurant in North Liverpool; we are really glad we found Quattro? and will now be regulars

Just sampled Bow Window for the first time. We feel that we would have no hesitation in recommending the restaurant to anyone who would appreciate a place, which offered that something different. Really nice surroundings with a fantastic view of the bay. The service was attentive when required. The food was quite delicious, freshly cooked and included those little extra additions which make a huge difference from one restaurant to another. In addition we were presented with a good selection of wonderful wines. A place to return to!
