I visited last night with my three children and we had a wonderful evening. Service, atmosphere and food where all excellent and the owner made us feel very welcome. We where visiting whilst on a weekend break, would recommend and visit again
Sultan Of Lancaster – LancasterLovely to be back in this delightful old building, still full of atmosphere! Staff were knowledgeable and attentive. Food was well cooked and tasty; the only fault was a very small vegetable portion with the fish pie. We had a really nice evening. Will definitely be back.
Sydney’s of Lancaster – LancasterA wonderful little restaurant with fabulous decor! The food was fantastic, options are varied and the waiting staff were attentive and timely. My only criticism is the lack of vegan option suitable for a child with a dairy allergy eg, no vegan ice cream, no vegan cheese to alter main dishes such as pizza.

The Station Hotel – LancasterUnimpressed tbh. Not enough staff so service was incredibly slow, they were doing their best but honestly, they were all teenagers seemingly left to figure it out themselves. No leadership or management visible at all. Food mediocre although has been great previously. Had to chase both food and additional drinks. We were unceremoniously presented with the bill; deserts / coffees not even an option. Table booked for 8:30pm, 1 cocktail and 1 course of food took over 2 hours… room for improvement IMHO.

Absolutely amazing service from the lovely lady Evie who waited on us all night, she was so cheerful and kind, very helpful. The food was delicious, we had americano Pizza and an open top sandwich, and we had a variety of fabulous cocktails, we also treated ourselves to desert which was divine. The interior is so cosy and warm, generally just a lovely atmosphere.

The Waterwitch – LancasterThe staff were lovely, and are a credit to the place. Unfortunately it took over an hour for our food to arrive, by the time all the meals had arrived half the table had finished. The food itself was nice but quite small portions so not great value.

The Station Hotel – LancasterVery loud live music echoed into upstairs restaurant. Food less than average beef burger disappointing , over cooked and dry, fish pie dry and tasteless. Manager rude to waitress within earshot and ordered her not to take any drinks or food orders from us at about 9.00pm. Table was booked for 8.00 pm. Basically eat and run! Waitress was excellent under trying circumstances.

Great service, apart from having to ask for the bill several times...hence 4 not 5 but other than that couldn't fault anything. Will definitely be back.
Sydney’s of Lancaster – LancasterReally enjoyed our meal at The Sultan last weekend. My Mum and I tried their special byriani, cooked in a sealed clay pot in the traditional way, and it was lovely. My Mum found our bhuna curry sauce & sag paneer a bit too salty, but overall enjoyed the experience. The service was great, the free dessert was a bonus and being booze free the bill was very decent too!!
Sultan Of Lancaster – LancasterWe booked a table to celebrate my daughters graduation, which turned out to be the hottest day of the year! We decided to sit outside by the canal. The pub is at a great location. The staff were v friendly, the menu had a good selection of classic pub grub. There was also an additional Graduate Menu. It was all very reasonably priced, and we received a 10% student discount on top. Would definitely recommend.
