My son and I visited the Fenwick Arms on the way back from climbing Ingelborough. It's a lovely looking pub and handy as on the A683 between Lancaster and Kirkby Lonsdale. The young team were very friendly and helpful. My son had the kids fish and chips and I had the fish pie. Both very tasty. Recommeded.

My partner and I came for an evening meal, celebrating a birthday, the food was delicious, I would recommend the st. Jacques scallops and lamp rump, it was cooked to my liking. We had mentioned the birthday on booking and had arrived to the table being dressed with a personalised reserved sign, 2 glasses of complementary prosecco with strawberries and received a hand written dessert plate with chocolates. I will definitely be returning with friends and family.

Superior burrito in the heart of Lancaster. Succulent juicy marinated chicken . Would recommend for a filling tasty and cheap lunch. Better than most burrito bars I have tried!

They didn't have a Jalfrezi but offered to make me one. it was very nice, service excellent. free jug of iced water on the table. the building is an old one with real character. the interior does have the vibe of a Sultans palace to be fair!

Love this little and real little pub. Had a couple of pints of Hawkshead and a very good Chilli Con Carne. The burgers that came out looked awesome too!

Went to the Bay Horse midweek for a Spanish wine tasting hosted by Rioja Vega and Lakeland Vintners. Sherry on arrival, a nice white and then working through the range of red Rioja – basic tempranillo, crianza, reserva and gran reserva. I liked the fact that the glasses were all brought to the table so you could compare and contrast (the white and the reserva were the best for me). Have to day the accompanying food was excellent – tapas (gambas, black pudding bon bons, rabbit and prune balls, asparagus), lamb on the bone and crema catalana. You would never come here on the off chance as it is so out of the way but it has built up a great reputation over the years and rightly so, in my opinion.

The Fenwick now has rooms so we thought we would stay over with our dog. Bit of shopping in Lancaster, walking at the Crook O Lune, sightseeing in Kirkby Lonsdale and of course a fine meal back at the pub. A belting overnight stay. Lovely large room a very hearty breakfast. However the main event was the meal which was first class with excellent menu choices from a unique menu. Cheese and haddock Pie and a tuna steak for me. My partner had white fish and a Cape Town curry. All in all we were very impressed.

Really first class coffee with a pastrami and cheese sandwich and a fine cake to soak it up. Great venue with a very pleasant vibe.

A really beautiful building, newly renovated. Pub food at restaurant prices. Disappointing! Huge portions. Quite unnecessary. Friendly staff and locals.

This lovely little countryside pub is a great destination for those who are out in the countryside around Lancaster. The best dishes are the South African dishes which are consistently perfect :)

Just had a Blood Orange tea, wow! The Priory Hall is a great atmospheric place to quaff it! Will return to try the other 10 or so teas on the menu.

Called in for Sunday lunch with 3 friends on January 18th, very warm welcome, the staff were all so very friendly and helpful, the food was very hot and well presented. Oh the veg soup was the best soup that I have ever had , and the roast 100%, thank you all at the Fleece Inn, will see you again next Sunday.

A really pleasant experience every time. I have been visiting the Borough for a number of years and not once have I walked away feeling disgruntled! Great service, delicious food and a perfect ambience for any social occasion.

Not been to the Bay Horse for years and this was an impromptu decision for a late Sunday lunch. Preceded by a visit to Barton Grange garden centre (completely rammed in early November!) then after a few wrong turns we arrived for 2.45. Still very busy and the four of us were squeezed onto a small table but the meal was really excellent. All the table had the same – roast beef (which comes pink) and a divine apricot bread and butter pudding – and we all agreed it was the best Sunday Lunch bar none that we had had locally. Washed down by two fine bottles of Rioja!
