Every time I'm in York area with my partner it has become a tradition to visit maxis for some scran. The restaurant is lovely and spacious, and the staff are always attentive and polite. To back this up the food is always amazing and a good portion, if you can ask for the Chinese menu .. the hotpot dishes, salted fish fried rice, three meat delicacy (i think it's called) are definite highlights for me. Oh yeah don't forget some prawn crackers too ... already looking forward to my next visit

There were six of us in our party, we all thoroughly enjoyed the meal, we will def be coming back.

This is our favourite restaurant. The food is always delicious with an ever- changing menu to chose from at a reasonable price, served in a welcoming atmosphere.

Staff were extremely pleasant. Food arrived on hot plates and well presented. Very tasty and good sized portions.

Second time we have been for lunch and would definitely come back for a third. Excellent food. We had the langoustines and lobster. Both were outstanding. Would highly recommend the lookout on the pier.

My friends and I often go to Tocketts for our monthly catch up and always rated it one of our favourite places to eat. However on this occasion we were somewhat disappointed. We do appreciate that there were only a couple of waitresses on and another setting tables. One came and asked us what we wanted to drink after a couple of minutes and we're we served in about 5 mins. About ten minutes later the same lady came and asked for out order and as we had what we usually order gave her our decision. That's when the problem started. We waited for over 30 minutes for our food to arrive. I always have the quiche but on this occasion I was extremely disappointed. It was half the size and not only did it seem overcooked but arrived with boiled potatoes. I would have preferred chips again, which I usually have, but was never offered. My friend's meals were lovely,the small plate dinners with beef. We then waited nearly 30 minutes after we had finished for someone to come and collect our plates,in fact I was about to get up and put them on the bar. We decided to ask the young lady who was settling the tables to clear ours and after she'd finished doing her table she finally went and got someone. We then decided on having the special as our desert at £9.25 that was also disappointing. It was lemon meringue pie with raspberries, actually only two, raspberries sorbet,a very small scoop,meringue pieces, again not even two small broken up pieces and a green tweel,which my friends left. We complained to the waitress who eventually came to clear the table and she said she would tell the person who did the deserts about our dissatisfaction. As I said it was extremely busy and can somewhat understand with the shortage of staff. However it is sad that our once favourite place to go has gone down in our estimations.

Lovely seafood restaurant. Excellent location, great food and staff. We will be back.

Brilliant authentic Italian food. Book early if you want to enjoy the experience.

What a fabulous experience we had at Le Bistro Des Amis in Skipton. We booked our wedding reception for 15 May. Can't fault anything. The service, food, attention to detail and atmosphere was excellent. Fraser took time to take note of what we wanted and delivered exceeding our expectations. The young staff, especially Eva, were enthusiastic, smiley and professional. We have no hesitation to recommend the full range of menu! Thank you all Tim and Anwen x

Well it seems we are the odd ones ! We have been to Demans several times in the past and had great food and service .We went very recently and had a bit of a disaster ! We waited over a hour after picking our dishes , eventually the first dish came which was sour dough with green pesto ! It came with two very small bits of bread and was told that they had ran out of sour dough ! I got the panto prawns which were very good ! Next came my goat curry ( which I was looking forward to ) It was really salty not edible! I advised the front of house and was quite abruptly advised that the next table had eaten it without complaint !! 5 minutes later the lady came back advising that the chef and herself had tasted the curry and it was indeed very salty ! Result , I was right ! I asked what would be quick to cook as we had been there for 2 hours .I went for the Bhaji,s One was ok but the other was burnt. Sorry but will not be returning.

My wife and I (and our small dog) had dinner at Little Sicily on 18th May. We were made very welcome and the food and service were impeccable. Many thanks Little Sicily - we look forward to our next visit

Great service and great food very enjoyable night

Had Sunday lunch here and was quite disappointed this time. We have eaten here before and the meals have always been good. We both had Roast beef dinner. The beef was quite tough and chewy, the roast potatoes were okay but not crisp, the cauliflower cheese was horrible, the cauliflower was soggy and the cheese sauce was very thick. The carrots were soft and the sugar snap peas were stringy. The Yorkshire puddings were okay but could have been crispy. All in all it was definitely not worth nearly £18.00 each. What a shame as this is usually our go to place when we're at our caravan but we will have to look for somewhere else now.

Firstly this place is so inviting and depending on ambiance your looking for kind of fits the bill you have a family function table that sits a large family in the main room , you have summer vibes and bright colours in the conservatory and then there’s the bar which is rather Romantic and quaint , a great all rounder. We often arrange a few family members for Sunday roast here and I have to say it’s always delicious, the staff are great and are a credit to this place …. I personally love this place . My only gripe is the meat carver could smile a little & be a little friendlier . Other than that it’s definitely a 10/10 for me

We went here for a Sunday carvery and can’t fault it. The meats are all done to perfection with huge home made Yorkshire’s with a great selection of veg. Will be back

A gorgeous place to catch up with friends and enjoy a great Sunday lunch, chico’s patio/greenhouse area is one of my little spots of paradise that I love going to ❤️
