Old Schoolhouse Restaurant – Beverleybeautiful food great service. recommend highly
Wheatlands Farm Wacky Warehouse – RedcarCannot rate this pub highly enough. A traditional British pub which has managed to maintain a regular clientele due to it's high standards of hygiene, ambience and friendly owners and staff who always go out of their way to make you feel welcome. No overbearing TV or music, always just right to please everyone. The beer is ther best pint of hand pulled Tetley you will find. The outside area is great in the summer. Very safe with lots of room and equipment for children to play.
Scotland Inn – BatleyWe celebrated an important family birthday at the China Palace last weekend. From start to finish the service could not have been friendlier. Two of us wanted something vegetarian that wasn't on the menu and it was prepared with no fuss. The food was as good as any Chinese restaurant I've been to - from London to Liverpool, the portions were generous and the bill was a pleasant surprise. Wine list was better than I expected too. They deserve to do well.
China Palace – Bridlingtonstay away, manners of a pig in there, we went in at five o clock it was empty, myself my wife and family. was turned away as they were fully booked in an hour, how on earth can a family of four take longer than an hour to eat a meal. attitude of waiter was atrocious we are full you, no manners whatsoever, ie you are not paying tonight i will not grace you with manners
Pinocchios Ristorante Italiano – Barnsleymy recommendation is to never, ever eat from Masala. The food took 1hr 20 mins to turn up. we rang twice and they were rude each time, making excuses over why its taken so long. now the food....the chips were raw and soggy, the naan bread was dry with the salad and sauce no where to be seen. the curry was cold. im struggling for positive feedback now. no i don't have any. rubbish. simples.
Masala – Harrogatethis is the best place to go for a chicken korma and the mango chutney is just delicious it seems to taste a different on the poppadoms that they make and all of the experience is just lovely went there last week and it was like i died and gone to heaven xx
Starbeck Tandoori – HarrogateStayed for a birthday treat, in a log cabin..the cabin was great really posh and comfy, the hot tub was divine sat in it for hours really relaxing treat.. the food in the restaurant was gorgeous also the service was top notch, my only tiny criticism is that i felt it was a little dated and over crowded with props and the tables are too near one another.. really worth the money to stay over even though its not cheap.
Crab And Lobster Restaurant – YorkThis was most definitely the best meal I have ever had (Beef Stroganoff). My husband had the steak, I tried some of course, and I could not decide which was the best they were both fabulous. We have told numerous friends since and intend to go back, with them all. Thank you Andreas
The Lantern Restaurant – Hullsmall & cosey, seats about 40 huge menu choice but all excellent quality especially the starters very friendly staff, owner goes out of his way to ensure you are completely satisfied highly recommended
Alnawab Restaurant – MirfieldWent here over Christmas - food very poor, the roast lamb was inedible, steak at £14 accompanied by two small mushrooms cut in quarters and I know when a so called homemade chip has come from the freezer! The steak pie which should have been served with a jug of gravy was served already swimming in gravy. We were not alone in complaining about the standard of the food - by chance the next table had ordered similar meals so I know it was not just us being over critical Service also very poor, I didn't expect that we would be fetching our own cutlery! It's a shame because the building and decor is really nice. The meal was a treat to the family from my 87 year old mother so we were rather reluctant to complain but felt we could not let it go. The manager was actually very apologetic and took 20% off the bill so well done to him, but a rare family evening with everyone together in Yorkshire was spoilt.
Haworth Old Hall – KeighleyDined here 23/1/10 and was very impressed from start to finish! A warm welcome, excellent service and the food was second to none.
China Palace – BridlingtonI am totally impressed with the quality of the food served at Barinda, the ingredients are fresh and the service is excellent. The surroundings are also very up market and stylish without feeling uncomfortable. It is always great value for money, for anybody who appreciates a gourmet taste this is the place to be, the mid week offers are amazing value for money.during these credit crunch times.
Barinda Restaurant – Hullafter deciding to eat out on Friday 22/01/10 at the black bull midgley i must stress how disappointed we was at the service and quality of food on offer there.we ordered our starter which was supposed to be homemade wild mushroom soup and 20 minutes later we got two dishes of what i can only describe as pond water with a few bits of dark stuff in it which was trying to pass as mushrooms that soup as never seen homemade it was just add water. after our plates was cleared we was still waiting 40 minutes later for our main course which was a supposed to be a steak and a sweet and sour chicken. at this point my husband was getting a bit impatient about waiting so long as there was only twelve people in the pub which i found hard to believe on a Friday night at that particular pub,he approached the bar to ask when our meal was to be served as he did so a pint of larger and a glass of wine was ordered the landlord as i now know him as was not happy with the cleanliness of the glass so he decided to wipe it on his shirt then continued to pour the wine this was the same shirt he was wearing to clear the dirty plates away in how disgusting is that. my husband asked how long our meal would be and the man just kept saying they was busy and it wouldn't be long after a short while 40 mins after our soup the man came out with our main courses when i pointed out to him that i thought the service was very poor and that homemade soup was out of a packet and not fresh he just kept saying they was busy i also pointed out that there was only twelve people in the pub and i was a cook he just turned and walked away no apologies or anything then when i looked at my food i noticed that my sweet and sour sauce was probably out of a jar aswell we have had many a meal out and have never had to complain before until now i do hope that this respond will be helpful in the future and i will not be recommending this pub to anyone whatsoever we was still talking about it on the sunday and will be telling everyone at work on monday about our bad experience there. also the landlord needs to go on basic health and hygiene course and an up selling course to encourage good custom and not bad as he is getting now as all the good comments was from 2008 not recent didnt he have the pub then.
