We had a great meal at The King’s Arms and were made to feel very welcome.

Food was reasonably good, nothing special. Very poor choice of drinks. Spanish beer in a so called French restaurant. Staff had very little knowledge about anything they were serving. Lacking any atmosphere.

Service excellent food was so nice huge portions worth the money and a visit will definitely be going again.

We ate here last night to celebrate an anniversay. It was really lovely. I had Sirloin steak, and pistachio cheesecake. My partner had the corned beef hash and sticky toffee sundae. All were excellent.

We often use TM as we enjoy the atmosphere as a great family location. The staff are always attentive, friendly, helpful, polite and work hard to keep people supplied with food and drinks. Whether it’s just a coffee whilst we are out for a walk, a lunch time snack, evening meal or the renowned Sunday lunch. The same values apply. The menus are excellent and the food is always quality and quantity, well presented and most of all tasty. We love it. Thanks to all the team.

Cannot genuinely fault this restaurant. Small plates, tapas style but food from all over the world, perfect for sharing, or not! Rob The chef seriously knows what he’s doing. Great service also and lovely decor inside, small and perfectly formed. We will go back many times as the menu is always changing. Love it here. Highly recommend.

We’ve been going to Maxis for 20 years, the food is always amazing, all of our important family celebrations have been held there. The steamed sea bass with ginger and spring onion, crispy noodles with prawn, sweet and sour prawn, and aubergine black bean and chilli…. all so good.

Great food and ambience

All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food was beautiful. I had the Moroccan lamb tagine which was so tasty. My partner had steak , which he absolutely devoured. My dad chose the beef from the specials and left nothing on the plate. My mum had chosen ham and eggs, which, unfortunately, she didn't enjoy. It was not ham, it was a thick piece of gammon. She does not like gammon, so would not have chose this if she had realised and the eggs were overdone. We were all expecting thin slices of tasty Yorkshire ham, so were disappointed. A description on the menu would have been helpful. But other than this, the food was delicious and excellent value for money. Our dog felt very happy here and it was a lovely, calm and relaxing atmosphere. We will definitely be returning.

Another wonderful meal at Brooks!! I have never had a bad experience, the food is amazing, the service attentive and the prices reasonable. 5 star all the way and can't recommend Brooks highly enough if you haven't been you are missing out.

We had a fabulous evening meal at the Kings Arms. The choice on the menu was amazing and the quality of the food was superb. The service was also great and the setting was lovely, especially in the bar area with all the history. A little background music in the restaurant area was the only suggestion we could make. We’ll definitely back on our next visit to the dales!
