I had a lovely meal at Etsu last week and was very surprised. I have eaten sushi in a lot of places around the world and I can honestly say that it is delicious at Etsu. The service was very good, attentive but not too much. The atmosphere is relaxed. I would definitely recommend going here! Price vs quality is excellent. PS: Try the chef's platter, it is gorgeous!

Went bank holiday weekend for our anniversary. The views are great but the food lacks quality and is served in such small portions we left feeling hungry. The lamb served was extremely fatty and gristly and the cheese board was inedible. The menus given to diners were dog eared and grubby but they did iron the table clothes in situ after each diner had left. We were rushed through our meal and we heard other diners complaining about being left waiting too long for a table. Eat before you go !

I think I must have been to a different restaurant than the other reviewers!! I have to say, this is the worst restaurant I have ever been too. The service was awful, it took 20 minutes to be acknowledged, then a further 20 minuted to get 2 drinks (which were wrong) and then another half an hour to get any service. When I was served the I found the staff unfriendly, arrogant and miserable. I have noticed that many of the reviewers went for lunch, i went for dinner in the evening, so maybe it has different staff, but it was the worst place I have ever been in terms of service. The food wasn't the best either, especially if you are vegetarian, I will not be going back and I would not recommend this excuse for a restaurant to anyone.

Warning - do not be fooled by the awards and hype. Travelled from Middlesbrough to sample one of the best Italians in uk ; it aint. Been to Ramsey's restaurant in London now that's worth a trip. Had high hopes, busy ,buzzy, excellent pizza oven great atmosphere. Ate calamari (frozen-bland) spaghetti vongole(good) husband had pizza (appalling considering the £20k pizza oven) truly awful.Coffee was bad and cold oh and wrong! ordered macchiato ; came black.so sad as 100's of 1000's mus've been spent doin this place up.Bag's of potential. No wonder manager/owner was looking was looking a bit depressed last night.

Went to Maharaja on a Sunday afternoon with the OH, they had a buffet on, with essentially a Chicken curry, Veg and a Fish curry along with roti and rice and payyasum for dessert. The food was bland and totally uninspiring and service was non-existent, probably being a buffet! The masala dosa was reasonable but the sambar was again bland and tasteless. Would NEVER return there, big disappointment.

The second rudest waitress I have ever encountered - but who expected a tip.(Not forthcoming) A pizza you needed a hammer and chisel to breach, slow slow service and a request for a proper wineglass treated as if I was asking for gold plate! I'm going back to Ego! They can cook, they're efficient and the service is so nice I usually give a 15% tip.

The restaurant was at a standard which i believe it should have won awards for its outstanding service and lovely food. The owner of the business should be proud and many thanks to the owner of providing the finest Indian cuisine in Liverpool

Undoubtedly the worst restaurant in the city. Yes, it's cheap, but then people seem to put up with mass-prepared slop when it doesn't cost much. This is wrong. No matter what you pay you should expect good food and good service. Me and my Girlfriend went there, sent both our starters and main course back and left. I had a cold meat salad that looked like it had been in the fridge for several weeks, then Beef Bourginon which was the saltiest thing I had ever tasted.

For those who know what good food is like, they will appreciate the high quality, high standard that Il Forno possesses. For the people who complain about service being too slow,i suggest you go to McDonalds if you want your meal in front of you within 3 minutes. Il Forno has no competition, it is the competition. Serving the best Italian food in Liverpool is an understatement. You don't win an award branding your restaurant as one of the Top 10 in the U.K for nothing do you?

Been there 4 times now for lunch and dinner and had excellent food each time. Business lunch is good value.

One to avoid if you are veggie. Had lunch there early April. Really unimpressed. Nothing veggie on the main menu. The waitress asked the kitchen - she said it's what they usually do so don't think we just went on the wrong day - and we were told we could have a large portion of the starter salad which she described as being roast veg - turned out to be a bed of leaves, 4 very small sauted carrots and a chopped up beetroot - that's no exaggeration. Really poor and we were charged £8 for it.

We went to Maharaja on a Saturday evening having booked a table for 8.45pm. On arrival the restaurant was very full and we were asked to take a seat on the comfy sofas. 20 minutes later we were seated at the table an it then took a further 10 minutes to get our drinks order. We chose and ordered food quickly with 4 out of 5 of us having the banquet at £22.50 per head. The starters arrived about 10 minutes later and everyone enjoyed them thoroughly. It then took a further 45 minutes for main courses to arrive by which time it was 10.30pm and we were at the point of wanting to leave. The food itself was lovely and to a small extent made up for the poor service. The nail in the coffin was that they only served 2 portions of rice for 4 people (who love rice) and it took a further 10 minutes for more to arrive during which time the rest of the food was getting cold. Having finished the main courses eventually, we paid the bill and left without the desserts that were included with the banquet. At this point, the waiter realised we were unhappy and did try to rectify the situation by offering us free drinks but to be honest it was too little to late. In conclusion, delicious food but terribly slow service and poor value for money on the banquet (in comparison to the a la carte menu) which unfortunately ruined the evening! We can only conclude that Gordon Ramsey got a better standard of service than this!!

Going to fly in the face of the other reviews here and say I didn't think it was such a wonderful dining experience. Started with our arrival when we went from not having a table at all and having to wait half an hour (we had booked), to having two. Food was generally a bit underwhelming. Quinoa was far too salty - noticed other people didn't eat theirs either. Egg custard was very heavy - too heavy. Coffee didn't turn up. Bill was ages coming and then wrong - table next to us had a bill problem as well. Noticed no one said 'bye' or got our coats as we left but the tip we left was very quickly picked up. Other aspects of the meal and service were really good but we're still left a bit disappointed because I really wanted to like it.

Wow! Food amazing, service amazing, views amazing! What more can I say! And lunch at £17.00 for three courses it won't break the bank!
