5 of us, had our Christmas dinner here again, 2 of which are vegan. Last year they nailed it, hence returned. The vegans had a lovely starter (soup & roll) and s lovely dessert, but was sadly let down with the mains. When asked about the veggies, no one seemed to know what the potatoes where cooked in but informed us that that the chef did like to put butter in ALL the veg. The only item without butter was sprouts! We where reassured beforehand that there would be 2 roast potatoes ( goose fat & veg oil), clearly marked and the only thing they wouldn’t be able to eat would be cauliflower cheese. Good job we choose to double check on the day as would have had 2 very poorly family members.

Come here very often and all the staff and food are always excellent. However we came Xmas day it was not greatly organised the starters were over cooked and the bill was completely wrong, they did rectify this but was not worth what was paid

Christmas day meal with the family was superb, it was obvious to see the effort the staff had put in and made the occasion extra special. The food was delicious and plentiful would definitely recommend booking for next Christmas

Service and food was of a high standard. We had the pre theatre deal before going to the Palace theatre, which is good value. Would definitely eat here again.

Normally I would have an outstanding time and really enjoy the meal and service which you provide, however this time, the food was absolutely amazing as always but the service in which we were provided was absolutely atrocious! The waitress who served us was so rude and unwelcoming and we were rushed to finish our meals! This really disappointed me and also the other guests in my company! We really appreciate that it is a busy time of year and no one likes to be in work, but there should always be a standard in which guest should be treated and spoke to and unfortunately the Service I’m which we experienced wasn’t at that level! Ruined our evening!

Amazing, the chef was very generous with the meat and it was cooked beautifully. The veg wasn't just a filler, it was very tasty. Very happy with my recent experience. A vast improvement from the last time we went.

When we arrived we were not on the booking system, and told that we were early as we had booked 11.45 am, apparently they don’t open until midday. However, the maitre d allocated us a table and we had a nice meal.

Food fab as always and had a lovely time with my family however, Service was rushed and staff a little brisk due to it being very busy perhaps?

Booked for a friends Christmas meal, we all had a different dish from the menu and absolutely loved the food. A mix of traditional and unique meals. Good portions, really tasty, delicious! The staff were welcoming and attentive.

I have attended for several larger work's gatherings downstairs, in the cosy room available for private booking, and have had quick lunches or drinks upstairs. Most recently had a Christmas do with the added bonus of some carol singers! Whatever the occasion, the food has always been great and the ambience very welcoming. Staff team, Clare and James to name two , are always very friendly and helpful. Definitely one of the best in West Didsbury in my opinion. Amanda & friends

Lovely food and pleasant service. I had seen some less than complementary reviews of high prices and poor service. This was not our experience, and found the pasta dishes - particularly the caneloni with great good value and very tasty. Would book again.

Had a really lovely evening with friends at the Fat Loaf. Warm, welcoming atmosphere, excellent service and fantastic food as always. The hardest part was deciding what to eat - so much choice!

Excellent pre show venue for a meal. It is very busy and the staff are under pressure but nonetheless very pleasant and helpful. I would suggest booking a table to avoid disappointment. I won’t pretend you are going to get fine dining but the pre show menus is acceptable and great value for money. All in all a pleasant pre show experience. You could pay more and do far worse.
