extremely good food with very good service in a relaxed atmosphere. The prawn satay was delicious, my friend had the duck which was also delicious and the warm saki is amazing.

Little Yang Sing – Manchester City CentreMy friend and I (Cheryl and Lynda) always go in the Red Lounge every week, the food is second to none and the staff can't do enough for you. Recommend the Chilli Chingri!
Red Lounge – AudenshawOur experience at American Bar & Grill was a little mixed. Firstly the service, which was exceptional, the staff couldn't do enough for us...very attentive. Starters were really nice, although slightly over the top on the rocket but nevertheless. Unfortunately the main courses were a bit of a let down, the fajitas were under seasoned so the chicken...well it just tasted of plain chicken! The crab linguine was probably the pick of our meals but even that lacked a little flavour. The Chilli though was fairly inedible The minced beef lacked any texture (not steak mince). It was also too dry, my guess is it had been reheated one to many times. Fortunately the staff at the front of house made sure we were not charged for the chilli. On another note there was a large male party in the restaurant which seemed to grow as the evening progressed, the waiting staff asked if we wanted to move and although they were not bothering us we agreed to move so they could accommodate all their group together. For this the waiting staff provided us with a complimentary drink each. So to sum up, 10 of 10 for service, 5 out of 10 for food, I think that would be a fair assessment.
American Bar and Grill, The – HaleI'm vegan and normally it's hard to find places that know what vegan is, let alone cater for me. although this is a nice exception. I just asked what was vegan and they came up with loads of suggestions of food that they could prepare for me with no fuss and no awkwardness. Friendly, clean atmosphere and inexpensive, great food! well worth the visit.
Hindley Cafe – WiganLovely fish and chips and as we used a 2 for 1 voucher it was fantastic value for money for the two courses we had. We ate in the lovely cafe which was very clean, comfortable and obviously new. The toilets were also of a good standard and very clean. Unfortunately, the niceness was tainted with the service we received. Our order was taken almost begrudgingly by the waitress who proceeded to treat us almost like an inconvenience. It came across that she did not wish to be there and didn't mind us knowing this. The service was also very slow - we were in there for nearly 2hrs!! Worth going if you just want nice food in a nice environment - just don't expect service with a smile!!!
METRO Fish Bar – BuryThis restaurant is beautiful to look at but the Thai food I ordered - Tom Yum soup and Green Curry - both had to be sent back as they were watery and tasteless. According to management the tastes cater for the English palate! The Thai rice for 8 people arrived in a medium size bowl - approximately 3 tbs per person at a cost of just under £15!!! The Indian dishes were much tastier and generous in quantity. The Vermillion Cinnabar is expensive and a trendy place to show off in but as a restaurant it fails to impress. I will certainly never be going back.
Vermillion – MostonI have been going to Rusholme for many years but only recently discovered the delights of Shere Khan. I would recommend this restaurant to any serious curry gourmet as it serves authentic, tasty food - although the haleem is for aficionados only! And the price is very reasonable for food. It was also very convenient for a little stroll across the road for dessert at the Sweet Mart.
Shere Kahn – RusholmeOn reading about the restaurant's accolade as best Chinese, I booked for Valentine. My partner and I had dishes from one of the set menus and cannot for the life of us understand how this restaurant won any awards whatsoever. There are 100% better restaurants in Chinatown. We were bitterly disappointed and felt let down. Surely quality should not be compromised by ordering from the set menu? This is one Chinese restaurant we won't be returning to again.
Sweet Mandarin – Northern Quarter14/3/2011 very nice meal,3 courses plus a drink for £13. good choice menu . well presented.
Black Dog Inn – BoltonAwful restaurant never never eat there.. me and 6 friends went there had rubbish meal, with crap service, stale poppadoms, bland curry, cold rice... and to top things off me and four others got food Poisoning.. which has lasted nearly week.. DONT EAT HERE!!!!!
Lal Qila – RusholmeIts very rare to visit a place that makes you not even consider anywhere else when deciding on a meal out. The Waterside is perfect, very welcoming, excellent food and drink and great service. Highly recommended for any occasion.
Cromptons @ The Waterside – EcclesThe best Indian food I've ever tasted. The staff are very helpful and will try to make you welcome.
Red Lounge – AudenshawI went out with friends on Friday to Jem and I. I have been a number of times but this time the service was awful - we had to keep asking, there was no atmosphere and the food was ok but all overprice, won't be hurrying back.
Jem and I Bar and Grill – DidsburySunday lunch at Earle, I had just finished watching the owner, Simon Rimmer, on the Something for the weekend programme and I must admit I like his style of cooking. The restaurant was set in the heart of Hale, the staff were really pleasant. The menu was simple and reasonably priced. But, there always is one, Simon please go back and teach your chef to cook beef, or better still use a better cut. I have never eaten , sorry tried to, eat such tough piece of beef. On mentioning it to the manager he simply said sorry. The lady on the next table also told the staff about - again there was no reaction - apart from sorry.
Earle Restaurant – HaleWe went for my daughters 23rd birthday, 7 adults and a toddler The meal was exceptional. Just a chance mention of her birthday. When we had asked for the bill, they turned lights low, happy birthday being played, and out they came with a gateaux, candle lit. They also gave her a present. Totally unexpected and so very thoughtful. Thank you again for making it such a special night.
Dragon Palace – StockportAs part of a birthday treat I took my wife and son to Greens last Saturday. The deep fried oyster mushrooms and black pudding was really tasty but the sausage and mash although nice we felt was a bit overpriced. The most disappointing part of the night was the attitude of the staff and the way in which we felt that every dish was rushed. The way in which the waiters hung around the tables and cleared the plates as soon as we had finished eating was more akin to a fast food restaurant than what we had hoped for.
Greens – Didsburythis is a fantastic place i had a great breakfast there as fresh as a daisy also tried their home made pies yummy
Full Monty – Ashton Under LyneEnjoyed a great lunch of Indian style tapas at this new Bolton eatery. A contemporary and stylish addition the the local dining scene.
