Really good service and food. Cosy, friendly atmosphere, relaxed, no rush, with a good choice of drinks and food.
Craven Arms – SettleWe received a friendly welcome and the ladies who served us were very friendly and efficient. The meals were excellent, of our group of four, three chose the Beef Wellington and one the Sea Bass. All dishes were perfectly cooked and were delicious. For desserts the ladies chose the coffee and mini Sticky Toffee Pudding and coffee and mini cheesecake which were very good. The gents chose Affogato and a full size cheesecake which they also enjoyed. The preparation and presentation was top class. The staff were friendly, polite and efficient. Would recommend highly.
Craven Arms – SettleSuper friendly staff, lovely meal in pleasant surroundings
Craven Arms – SettlePicked due to a recommendation so it was new to us. Despite the quiet night maybe due to a mid week dark cold evening we had an amazing meal. Polite staff and very prompt service. Great value as this wasn't just standard pub food I'd say this was more restaurant level in a lovely pub setting. Very chilled place which made for a relaxing meal. Couldn't fault the value for a good size high quality meal. Would very much recommend
Craven Arms – SettleWe had a very nice lunch at the Craven Arms. Nice soup and a very good choice of sandwiches. There was also a good selection of drinks, including wine by the glass. The full lunch menu (including desserts) sounded really interesting, however we only required a light(ish) lunch en route to our destination further up the A65. If we are in the area again we will look to stop and sample more of the food on offer! Highly recommended!
Craven Arms – SettleI brought a group of friends with me and the food, service and choice of gluten free options were all excellent. I’ll certainly be recommending to other people as I live quite local, and will be returning again.
Craven Arms – SettleExcellent food and service. Great pulled beef Wellington with roasties and red cabbage for my other half and a nice piece of sea bass for me (skin was not perfect, but the fish was). Really looked after. Sensibly priced wines. Good value. Would go again. We stayed the night, too, and the breakfast is to die for.
Craven Arms – SettleWe bring my Mum about once a month. The pub/restaurant has a lovely vibrant atmosphere with staff always polite and ready to help. The food is always excellent. However, unfortunately there is no easy access for my Mum who struggles with the awkward steps, as she is not very steady on her feet and needs two people to help her. May I suggest a ramp with a rail, which would benefit wheelchair access also? Thank you
Craven Arms – SettleThe food was very nice and the desserts were excellent, the staff were very friendly and the young man who served us was very polite and helpful, there is a great choice of beer and wines to choose from.
Craven Arms – SettleThe food was delicious ( most of our party had the Beef Wellington) cooked to perfection, my only gripe is that it only comes with one type of vegetable, two would be ideal, without having to order extra veg on the side. The desserts were also delicious ( various choices were made by family) no complaints at all. Service was also very friendly and professional. At the time we ate it was quiet but we were there quite early plenty of tables looked Reserved though. Definitely be back.
Craven Arms – SettleFood was very good . Service was good as always. Atmosphere at this pub/hotel is very friendly and professional. Staff know their regulars and treat them with respect and professionalism whilst still letting the customer know that they are a regular. Experience over all is really good *****
Craven Arms – SettleBooked for Xmas Eve and ordered from their Festive Menu. My partner is vegetarian and the menu offered great choices. Service was on point, never felt rushed, staff were very friendly without being intrusive. The food was presented very well and cooked perfectly. If visiting the area again I would certainly look at eating here again.
Craven Arms – SettleA very warm welcome and great service especially as 2 of our family members had gone to the wrong place and were delayed, very well handled. Fabulous food, we did all think we’d have welcomed a dish of lighter vegetables- broccoli etc, to break up the richness of the main courses but it was still delicious.
Craven Arms – SettleBeen twice recently but many times over the years, recent visits have both been large parties 20 & 8 so had probably a full selection of the menu both Xmas and normal and all meals where excellent no complaints. All in all Great food, great value and fabulous service
Craven Arms – SettleLovely food, quick service, a lovely place to meet up with relatives for lunch!
Craven Arms – SettleDelicious Sunday lunch, fabulous service, catered for coeliacs. We will definitely be back!! Thank you
Craven Arms – SettleMy friend and I meet regularly here as it’s halfway between our homes and we have never had a bad meal. The staff are very friendly and always give you a warm greeting, the service is attentive and the food delicious. Would recommend to anyone in the area looking for somewhere nice to eat.
Craven Arms – SettleWe visited the Craven Arms on a Tuesday evening whilst staying at a local hotel nearby. I must admit, I didn't think I was hungry and it was great that a smaller portion for some of the main meals was offered. I had the Sea Bass and it was absolutely delicious. We'd been on holiday all week and this was the best meal we'd had - including one in The Cotswolds at a trendy hotel that cost four times as much. The flavours were excellent and the fish perfectly cooked. With my appetite restored I had the Cafe Gourmand - a smaller portion of the sticky toffee pudding which was still the perfect size dessert. This was clearly homemade too, with pieces of dates and a delicious sauce. I am so pleased that other places in the area are closed on a Tuesday and hope the Craven Arms gains as a result. The outside of the building is nothing to write home about and the interior decor, with its patterned carpet, didn't fill me with confidence. Personally, I'd rip it up and see if there are floorboards underneath, open up any fireplaces and build a whole load of bookcases for a bit of warmth and ambience. But - forget my interior design longings - if the food is the thing... if you're hungry or want a special meal out, then this is the place. There were plenty of other diners there who are clearly in the know. Next time we stay near Settle, we will book in advance. Excellent.
