Good food and nice pub but the service was so slow. The staff just kept disappearing for ages and forgetting simple request. The one lad said there was no manager in at one point and it clearly showed. The food saved the experience

cute place, gave us sombrero hats as it was my birthday which was such a fun surprise. music is great, nice decor, 2 girls on the bar and serving are great. would have liked a little more flavour/ seasoning on the meats especially the chicken but everything still tasted good :)

Visited the smokey cow with my partner and parents. The food was fantastic and service without fault with the waitress been extremely friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was quiet but no doubt that was due to us visiting slightly earlier than what I would think is 'peak' time on a Friday. Would thoroughly recommend!

Perfect meal & atmosphere as always .. staff were very attentive, we took our dog with us and she was welcomed by all staff, we loved it

We all(7 of us) enjoyed a fantastic variety of meals. Hearty grub in a lovely pub setting. Great staff attentive, friendly and helpful. We have been before and we will definitely come again. Oh and what a setting!!

Classic Sunday roast in a quintessential English country pub. Superb food served in a friendly atmosphere. Will most certainly be back.

Excellent Lovely food Good service Will be back

When we arrived there wasn't any sraff to be seen for some time before we were attended to.we ordered the large Sunday roast. We found the beef under cooked and very tough and difficult to chew. Practically unbeatable. Didn't enjoy it at all. We paid and then realised when we got to the car we had been over charged as well. Will not be going back again.

Excellent service, excellent food, great beer

A visit to The Malthouse for Sunday lunch is very special for me. The food is excellent, the staff are charming and very helpful, and the whole environment is very convivial. It is a high spot in my week.

We are in the restaurant Friday night..food was delicious.. couldn't fault it..and the menu has a good choice on it for everyone.. staff were lovely and friendly.. beautifully decorated.. enjoyed the band in the bar..will definitely be back..

Food, my choice was great, my friends found the portions small and a little greasy. Yes it was a very cold day (outside) but it was very cold inside also. Where I sat, the floor flexed up and down every time staff passed by on the way to the kitchen. Paying the bill, we always round up the total, which we said to the waiter, he did not point out that a tip had already been added. We had to ask where my starter was ! Based on the table opposite who came well after us, had their meals. The beer was first class.

We visited as a family of 6 adults and 2 small children. We struggle to find places to eat that a nice but child friendly but at The Smokey Cow they were very welcoming. Friendly staff who gave fab recommendations on food. Food was amazing and huge portions! Didn’t have to wait too long for food either which is a bonus! Have been 3 times now and all times have been fab! Would definitely recommend and will be back!

Food was good however the pub was very cold. Also, the service was incredibly slow, it was almost 3 hours between us ordering food and finishing it. This is nothing to with the staff serving, but that there were only 2 staff serving the whole pub (including the bar) was ridiculous. We wouldn’t go back.
