Food great but be advised that the owner takes the waiters tips and buys bottles of wine for customers who have had a long wait. Not fair is it?

Da Vinci’s Italiano Ristorante – MoldExcellent curry club on a Thursday, 5-9pm tried all 4 choices over last 4 weeks all excellent, home made, cask ale & real fire. Rooms if you want to stay, the breakfast is excellent as well.
The Crown Hotel – WrexhamProbably the worse place I have been too. The Manager had no manners and was very aggressive towards his customers. No wonder the pub was empty.. I would certainly not recommend it to anyone.
Glengower Hotel – Aberystwyththe best seafood ever and the meat dishes are not bad either this is in the top 5 seafood restaurants in the country trust me go and try it yourself a hidden gem
The Lobster Pot Seafood Restaurant – HolyheadA venue with a homely atmosphere and excellent food (reasonably priced). A wide range of wines were available.
Gales of Llangollen – LlangollenHaving been a regular visitor to Hereford for years, the one thing I have noticed is the lack of good quality food available for the people wanting to dine out there, we have family living in Hereford and like to eat out on occasions when we visit them. We live in Birmingham and so are spoilt for choice when choosing to eat out on one occasion that we chose to eat out in a pub near Hereford Racecourse, I had steak and ale pie, there was no gravy in the dried up pastry, and one piece of grisly meat that was supposed to be steak, the ham on one of the lunches looked similar to ham but was inedible because it was just a tasteless piece of rubbish. When visiting another pub about 20 past 2 in the afternoon, at a pub in Breadwardine, the first comment from the owner was that food was stopped being served at 2, but because there were several of us he would serve us, wow nice to be wanted, the menu consisted of about 6 items!!!!!! On a recent visit to our family, they said they had been for a meal at a local pub called the Kinnersley, after our experience of pub meals in the area we were a bit reluctant to dine out in Hereford again and particularly as we had my sister and her husband with us but we were all starving and needed sustenance so when seeing the sign for The Kinnersley we turned off, we were driving along the A438 so had to drive along a lane about 3quarters of a mile long, had we known we would have driven up to the A4112 and turned off at the sign for The Kinnersley, it was about 2 minutes off the A4112. On the 11th July 2009 we made our second visit to The Kinnersley in less than a month and again it was well worth the drive down from Birmingham. Being a child of the 1940’s I was well acquainted with rabbit meat so was interested to see in on the menu at The Kinnersley, the menu goes on forever, and is all good quality food, the service is next to none. Cant remember what the others in our group were eating because I was enjoying my meal too much, well I would have if people didn’t keep asking to taste my rabbit, all were impressed with this tasty lean meat. This pub really is a little gem that’s been hidden away a short distance off the A4112, if you drive along the A438 it’s the main road from Hereford to Kington, when you see the sign for Leominster turn right, along there about half a mile and you will see a black sign indicating where to turn off for The Kinnersley, I will guarantee after tasting the food there your visit will not be a one off visit. Also they have a great system of special deals, you go there at 5-30 you pay £5-50, you got there at 6-30 you pay £6-50, you go there at 7-30, you pay £7-50 and that’s for anything on the menu, and is available from Sunday till Thursday. The Kinnersley Arms – Hay On WyeVisited Barmouth with my family last week end ate in here on one of the evenings - was very impressed, had great choice on childrens menu - not just "something" & Chips. Also large variety of choices on A La Carte Menu. The Service was excellent, with the waitress trying to amuse my youngest child even though she was very busy. Have been visiting Barmouth for years & can honestly say this was one of the best meals I have ever had. Will definitely return.
The Captains Table – BarmouthService so slow never went back Food good though, but 1 3/4 hours far too long to sit about waiting for Sunday lunch. Shame Nice place
Barratts at Ty’n Rhyl – RhylThis is a fantastic little restaurant. The food is top notch and the views of the Welsh coast are just stunning. The owner is very welcoming and a great hostess. We ate there twice and both meals were excellent, nothing could be faulted. Well worth a visit if you are in or around Conwy. Louisa & Liam 20/06/2009
Bunkers Bistro – Conwytwo of us visited bells of st marys recently and could not fault the food, we had sunday roast it was cooked exactly as we like it. it was spoiled by the chaos that seemed to reign, stand in queue to pay, stand in another queue to get your meal and then go walkabout to find a table. all this amongst many other people apparently doing the same thing. we would visit again but have to be at a much quieter time otherwise it was real value for money and as pointed out by another review there is a child play area where you can also sit and supervise (if need be) your kids. our grandchild seems to go deaf when we call him
The Bells Of St Marys – PrestatynSunday 31st May 2009, time 14-10 hours. It was a beautiful summer’s day, loads of people about, as we were in Bredwardine right on the River Wye, there were loads of potential customers about wanting good old British pub grub. Last year we had a meal in a pub in Hereford near the Racecourse, I had steak and ale pie, it consisted of dried up pastry very little gravy and 2 pieces of meat that was more gristle than meat, it closed down a little later. Sunday 31st May 2009, it was our daughters birthday and we wanted somewhere nice to go for a meal, we chose the Red Lion, Bredwardine, we were informed as soon as we asked about food that that they had stopped selling food at 14-00 hrs, but because 9 of us they would serve us, the menu was very limited about 6 or eight meals on the board, I chose beef stir fry, when it arrived there were 3 small pieces of what I assumed to be beef, hardly cooked and running with blood, covered in tasteless gravy. A bit of lettuce and loads of tasteless courgettes, a portion of chips was an extra £2-50, I would have thought they would have been included in the meal, to top it all off, a ring of orange. Our grandson couldn’t eat his burger!!!!!!!!! Why is it that pubs cant offer simple food like a Sunday roast, or a ploughman’s lunch, forget the fancy food that chefs choose to cook to show off their talents, give us good old simple English pub grub. We asked about deserts, there were none. We are hearing about 30 pubs a week closing down so why is it not possible to get decent food in many British pubs these days? We live in the Black Country in the West Midlands and serving up rubbish food like this would ensure the pub was soon boarded up. Jim of the Black Country.
Red Lion Hotel – Hay On WyeI was extremely disappointed with the service we received at this restaurant. The staff were unpleasant as soon as they found out half of our party were due to arrive 15 minutes later, and refused to reserve space next to our table, despite clearly not being fully booked. They glowered as we ordered our food, and would not permit us to finish our drinks once the bill had been paid, claiming a booking, despite the restaurant being half empty. Our respectfully phrased complaints following the meal were dismissed by the manager. The food was tasty, shame about the service. We are regular visitors to Llanberis, but will not be visiting 'Spice' again.
Spice of Llanberis – CaernarfonI recommend you try the vegan and vegetarian food on offer here, as Karen the host, is a home made food expert keen to offer good interesting meals to vegans and vegetarians too, very generous portions and very tasty. I've had Red Thai Fishless Cakes with salad and mixed rice, and it was lovely. The main fare is traditional pub food but seasonal and all home made from scratch.
The Golden Lion Hotel – WelshpoolDisgusting takeaway of congealed sweet & sour and horrid special fried rice. East was recommended which we won't be.
East – LlandudnoMy girlfriend and I ate here last night. We chose the Bistro which is cheaper per meal than the main restaurant but having enjoyed the food so much, I think we'll go back and try the restaurant as well. The food was excellent and there was a wide choice on offer. I had snails for the first time, which were delicious. We both chose seafood mains, my girlfriend having tiger prawns and I had mullet, both cooked very well. The portions were a good size but not too big that we couldn't eat desert as well. The atmosphere is smart but relaxed and the waiting staff were attentive without hassling. For three courses each plus drinks we paid less that £50, which was really good value for food that was way about the average in this area.
The Brasserie at Ye Olde Bulls Head Inn – AngleseyYou wouldn`t give this place a second look, but once you`re inside and past that shop front facade you soon realise how wrong that first impression was. The welcome, food and service are beyond reproach what a wonderful evening and quite by accident. This restaurant serves great Indian cuisine
Spice UK – WelshpoolOn a visit from Manchester to stay with friends I read the recommendation from the daily post ! We went for the early bird special and as a family of 3 adults and 2 children were disappointed! We were treated very differently for having the early bird menu ,for example no wipes for ribs , asked why we wanted extra plate for children , rudeness of female staff ! I had looked at the internet website and prices and times were different on different sections of the website ! The food was nothing special than a normal chinese takeaway !! extremely disappointed evening and expensive !! I am writing for a taechers magazine of reviews in the north west of wales and this one will not be great !!
Prosperity – RhylOne of life’s great pleasures is the fulfilling of one’s senses. Be it the feeling of the warm summer breeze on ones face, the smell of freshly cut grass or baked bread, the view over the bay as the tide ebbs it’s way toward high, or the sumptuous taste of beautifully prepared food, few people would deny that these are things that make memories. I have eaten at Moorings on a number of occasions and have always left with that feeling that I had just experienced something a little bit special. Whilst they may not offer the smell of freshly cut grass (not all the time anyway) one’s senses are awash with views, sounds, smells and tastes, all of which leave you satisfied. Needless to say, you should always book, as this restaurant is one that fills much of the time and believe me, if you find yourself in the area, you shouldn’t miss out.
Moorings Bistro – Porthmadog2 courses, £22; 3 courses, £27, served at 5pm or 5.30pm, Tuesday to Saturday.
1 course, £18; 2 courses, £23, 3 courses, £28. Served 12pm-3pm Sundays.
