The Horseshoe Inn – WelshpoolThe Groes has been our favorite place to eat and drink since we discovered it on moving to this stunning part of the world some four years ago. The food is simply superb, the wine and beer excellent and the staff couldn't be friendlier. We had lunch there today - a game casserole to die for - warm fire, happy customers, what more can be said. We will return again and again.
The Groes Inn – ConwyRevisited after 2 years and even better than we remembered. Noori prepared a special coconut chicken for my wife who has a dairy allergy. I had fish and fish platter. Hardly anything on the menu is familiar but all sound exciting, Real Adventure Cuisine see for yourself at www.indianacuisine.co.uk
Indiana Cuisine – DolgellauThee of us take a wheelchair bound friend out weekly and travel all over Shropshire / north and mid Wales. We first visited The Groes about 6 weeks ago and really felt it meritted a second visit .Wheelchair access is easy , the atmosphere welcoming and even by the door the room is warm and cosy.We thoroughly recommend the home brewed beer it has a real nutty flavour. The regular menu has an excellent range of starters and mains but, there is also a specials board which changes .The quality of the food is first class, full of flavour, simply served, hot and with ample portions for four good eaters Like Arnie says we will be back!
The Groes Inn – ConwyIf you imagine the perfect place to eat and drink then the Groes fits the bill perfectly. Great beer, great food and above all excellent service.
The Groes Inn – ConwyThe food is simply delicious, with some tasty twists to traditional fare sitting comfortably alongside "what you might expect". After a lovely dinner, my family and i were back for more a couple of days later for lunch - which was equally as enjoyable. It's a real North welsh welcome at the Groes Inn, with staff being very accommodating and friendly with it. * Written with impartiality - nothing to do with the Groes Inn home brewed ale - which went down a treat!
The Groes Inn – ConwyFor many years Llandrindod Wells has been a black hole for ethnic restaurants. No more! I have eaten at Zeera twice now and each time it has been excellent. Great staff, very reasonable prices, stunning food. I recommend the prawn puree starter (common dish I know but beautifully presented and brilliantly spiced) but the best Indian dish I have tasted in the last few years (and believe me I'm no amateur!) is the Lamb Dom Pukt Korai, great taste and the tiny red dried chillies really make it a dish to remember. The best Indian restaurant I've been to outside of central London but without the price tag. Five Stars.
Zeera – Llandrindod WellsWe as a family often go to the Queen's Head for lunch when we shop at Llandudno. It's advisable to arrive early, as it fills up quickly. There is a buzz at this gastropub, and the service is quick and efficient as well as being personal. The menu is wide-ranging, with local fish, meat and game, and the occasional curry. One can opt for a quick starter or a full menu including a starter, main course, pudding and coffee (so one can dine cheaply or go the whole hog, which will not break the bank anyway). Food is freshly cooked to order, and is professionally presented. Yet the place retains the atmosphere of a pub, and the food isn't pretentious or fancy. It's all very reliable and very good. That's why we return again and again.
The Queens Head – ConwyThis small guest house between mountains and sea in the countryside on the edge of Snowdonia National Park has been awarded five stars by Visit Wales, and has won many awards, and been reviewed cordially in many British newspapers, journals and guides. It offers first-rate accommodation in cultured and tasteful surroundings (lots of books, paintings by contemporary Welsh artists, a Bechstein grand piano, antique and modern furniture, slate or wooden floors, beams, etc.) A delicious Welsh breakfast is served, freshly cooked on the Aga, using fresh, local produce, some of it organic, and some from the kitchen garden. Dinner is served by arrangement only (it must be booked beforehand). Food is down-to-earth, honest and full of flair: one might start with roast peppers Piedmontese (based on an Elizabeth David recipe), go on to a navarin of Welsh lamb with garden vegetables, followed by artiscan Welsh cheeses with homemade biscuits, with pears poached in red wine for pudding. There has been copious praise for the homemade organic brown bread. The welcome is personal, warm and very Welsh.
Y Goeden Eirin – CaernarfonExcellent atmosphere. Staff are great people. Absolutely to die for food! Everything you would want from a friendly, welcoming pub! A+!
Bull Hotel – AbergeleAbsolutely the best - have visited many many times with various family and friends - grandchildren and never had a bad meal yet - always piping hot and enjoy enjoy enjoy x
The Bells Of St Marys – Prestatynwow! What a Meal & Perfect Indian Hospitality.A delightful find in the WELSH Hills. A restaurant to be highly recommended. Absolutely fantastic standard of Food. We were lucky to discover this place . Will surely tell many others.
Indiana Cuisine – DolgellauGreat food & beers. Brian the owner is the perfect host. well worth a visit.
Tafarn Ty Gwyn – AngleseyI have been here several times over the last few years and I have never had a bad experience yet. The food is fantastic and the staff are very helpful and friendly, to the point of asking chef to cook something alternative to the menu for my 7 yr old son. I last went on my daughters birthday on 15 Sept and had a great couple of hours with the family. You will not be disappointed with the food, nor the standard of service, and that said, I am looking forward to going again soon.
The Bistro – RhylOn first view this looks like a fantastic restaurant. On visiting this restaurant we found the customer service very poor and the staff not very sociable. The food was edible but nothing to shout about. The couple on the next table to us were also not happy as they were waiting for the bill for about 15 mins as the staff were to busy chatting. I hope they can sort out these problems as they will struggle with Kareems being upstairs. The Lunchtime special was a bit of a joke. We ordered chicken wings starter and received one very lonely overcooked chicken wing on a plate with a bit of salad. If you are hungry don't bother with the lunchtime special!
Chilli Pink – RhylPlease do not visit this restaurant. Poor food, poor presentation, poor atmosphere.
La Terrazza – NewtownWas staying in Berriew and went into Newtown to look for something to eat. The Preen food was fantastic and the staff was very friendly. They even corked my wine for me when i didn't drink it all. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Preem Indian Cuisine Restaurant – NewtownFood over-priced, poor quality & rude customer service when took an inedible meal back. We certainly won't be going back and don't recommend.
